  3. Could this affect any proposed movement from CUSA to the Big East ? If the Knights ultimately decide to join the Big East, Conference USA officials told the Sentinel that UCF would have to pay an exit fee of about $7 million. Schools leaving C-USA must pay their annual share of television revenue under dual contracts with Fox Sports Network and CBS Sports for five years and an additional one-time $500,000 fee. 4. If the Big East gets it way and if it can't land Boise State, something the league is still trying to do -- Rutgers would be in the same division as Connecticut, Central Florida, South Florida, Temple and Navy in a tentative rough draft of the reconfigured 12-team football league that came out of today's conference call, a leading college official said. West Virginia, Air Force, SMU, Houston, Louisville and Cincinnati would comprise the other division under that scenario. The official requested anonymity because he is not authorized to discuss details of the conference call of the football-only schools this morning. 10. Unlike UNTs season opener against Houston, the Apogee crowd did not dwindle as the game progressed. The crowd of 21,181 caused such a noise problem that it disrupted the Indiana offense. The fans are so much closer to the action [than at Fouts Field]. Indiana had some false starts and illegal procedures that maybe, if we were playing over [at Fouts], wouldnt have happened, Thompson said. READ MORE http://www.ntdaily.com/?p=57561

Their DL kept IU's blarterback running all over the place. Their kick coverage was great as well. IU really sucks but they should have been able to win this. Great win (unless they choke) for the Mean Green."

  16. Keep seeing in multiple articles that if the MWC expands they are interested in returning to Texas. It probably has something to do with recruiting and media markets. If true, seems there would be only three likely possibilities; Houston, smu and North Texas. Could we possibly be under consideration ?

  19. Dunbar rolled up an obscene 229 yards rushing and receiving in the first half alone – finishing with 279 all-purpose yards – and likely could have surpassed 300 yards if not for the two early lost fumbles. All told, he looked less like the best back in the Sun Belt and more like the best back in the country thanks to a porous Hoosier defense. 20. FWIW, thread off the CUSA board Post by SPHerd Marshall's AD Mike Hamrick was on the local radio last night and he talked a little about expansion. He feels CUSA will be fine and probably will not lose anybody, but if we did, it will be no more than two schools, He went on to say if we lost a team from the east division his first replacement choice would be UNCC, then FIU, and another team which I did not catch the name. On the west side it was North Texas and UTSA. As to LA Tech he basically said no comment. THREAD http://ncaabbs.com/showthread.php?tid=517107

  22. The worst of the storm is over; the remaining teams on UNT’s schedule have a combined record of 6-18. The Mean Green has a chance to recover with a few wins, and it all starts Saturday against the Hoosiers. READ MORE http://www.ntdaily.com/?p=57334
