Just check the 2012 schedule for our new conference mates. All have 6 home games scheduled (2 OC games). Several have 1AA or FCS schools scheduled. Half have big 6 conference schools at home. Leaving Conference USA for the Big East could cost UCF and three other schools as much as $7 million dollars apiece in exit fees. UCF, Houston, Memphis and SMU will move to the Big East before the 2013-14 season. They are each contractually obligated to pay their annual share of television revenue under Conference USA's dual contracts with Fox Sports Network and CBS Sports for five years and an additional one-time $500,000 fee. Wondering if we will schedule any Belt schools for OC games after our move to CUSA. Not much excitement among the masses about playing them now so what do ya think ?

Interesting post by a ECU fan on the CUSA board. "I think when we realized the merger wasn't going to happen C-USA pulled a power play and locked the MWC out of the state of Texas. Effectively we neutered almost all attractive expansion candidates they had by inviting UTSA and UNT and keeping UTEP."

It's apparently true tthat they virtually have a sellout for every football game. Checked and their 2011 attendance was 19,784. Stadium capacity is 19,818. They had a 10-3 record. Basketball attendance for 2011-12 was 7,142. Record was 22-14. Very impressive.

Big South is a horrible name. No thanks.

I'm torn on this. The guy does have talent, but he's been a head case. Unless he's done a complete about face, he'd be a disruption.

Hoping that NMSU lands in the Belt. Idaho needs to go to the Big Sky.

Any word yet on what we are paying Benford ? With the quality of ass'ts he's bringing in, looks like we're upping the anti for the program.
