  1. Navy will travel to the fertile recruiting ground of Texas on Nov. 10 when the Mids take on North Texas for the first time in school history. It is just the Mids second trip to the state of Texas in the last four years. With the confirmation from the Navy schedule, move from a rumor to THE premiere home game for '07!
  2. Losing stars sucks also.
  3. Trojans to Face Oklahoma State on ESPN2 Ricky Hazel 02/08/2007 TROY, Ala. – Troy University Director of Athletics Steve Dennis announced today that the Trojans football team will host Oklahoma State University on Friday night, September 14, at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium. The game is being moved back one day from its originally scheduled day to accommodate a national television broadcast on ESPN2. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (CT). "We are very excited about ESPN coming back to Troy to televise the Trojans," Dennis said. "It is a great opportunity to showcase not only our football program, but our entire University to a national audience. I hope that all Troy fans will start making their plans to be at Movie Gallery Stadium so that we can show the nation what Trojans football is all about." The Trojans, who are coming off an 8-5 season that produced the first Sun Belt Conference title in school history as well as the first bowl victory, a 41-17 win over Rice in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl that was also televised by ESPN2, will be making their first regular season appearance on ESPN since a 24-14 victory over then 19th ranked Missouri in 2004. Oklahoma State finished the 2006 campaign with a 7-6 record that included an Independence Bowl victory over Alabama. The Cowboys will be making their first trip to Troy and it will be the first meeting on the gridiron between the two schools. The Trojans are schedule to make a return trip to play Oklahoma State in Stillwater in 2008. "Any time you play on national television it is great for your program and the University," Blakeney said. "The fact that we will be facing a top 20 caliber program, one that is coming off a bowl victory over a program that is very familiar to people in this part of the country, should get our fans very excited about this game. "We want to make a great impression on both ESPN and the national audience, and the best way to do that is to have a stadium packed with loud and enthusiastic Troy fans." The 2007 Trojans are scheduled to open spring practice on Friday, February 23. Spring drills are scheduled to run through March 14 with the annual T-Day Game set for Saturday, March 10.
  4. The 4-star is listed, but NOT included in our totals yet. Scout FINALLY listed it today after some e-mail help from a Muts fan with a contact there. They still haven't really rated many of our players & still have them with their opening 1-star rating. What is this thing you call love ?
  5. Isn't it about time to CLOSE & LOCK DOWN this thread ? Pete and repeat seem to have taken over.
  6. WOW - Navy is my "other" team !
  7. Excellent question !
  8. I'm going to give TD the benefit of any doubt here. With limited time to put a recruit class together & more than a few priorities to deal with, he can't be all things to all people all the time. This article is completely counter to TD's rep and just because it's in print doesn't make it so.
  9. Why would the game against the MAC opponent be dropped ? We will play five (5) OC games & seven (7) conference games. OU, Arkansas, SMU and WKU = 4 OC games. MAC opponent would make 5.
  10. Kevin Ealey is not listed. Cam Montgomery (JUCO) is one of the 18 listed. 17 HS & 1 JUCO.
  11. Think TD's idea of "Stealth" is "psst, hey guy you really need to consider North Texas". He did pluck Vizza from Nevada & snatched Hager just as Baylor was offering. The era of "We Are The Mean Green" recruiting is now at North Texas.
  12. Over slept? Forgot it was signing day? Lost his pen? Arrested for speeding while on the way to fax his LOI ? Kidnapped by aliens? Waiting for a call from America Idol ?
  13. Remember he has de-committed once (Nevada) so it wouldn't be something new to him
  14. Don't be so grouchy. Life's to short!
  15. With the receipt of Jesse DeSoto's LOI, looks like there are 3 still missing: 1. Vizza 2. J.J. Johnson 3. Kevin Ealey.
  16. You caught it !
  17. The full story on Robinson North Texas put what appears to be the final touch on its recruiting class over the weekend when Waco Robinson wide receiver/defensive back B.J. Lewis committed to play for the Mean Green. The news broke late Saturday, but Monday's edition of the Denton Record-Chronicle has a more complete story on UNT's latest recruit. The Mean Green didn't offer Lewis until the last minute after another player backed out of his commitment to UNT. Robinson was an all-state selection and played a variety of positions in high school. For a last-minute addition, Robinson appears to be a solid pickup. With Robinson on board, UNT appears to be finished. Head coach Todd Dodge said he had as few as 16 and as many as 21 scholarships to give. Lewis is the 21st recruit UNT has landed. At this point, what are your thoughts on UNT's recruiting class? Here's a link to the story on Robinson: http://www.dentonrc.com/sharedcontent/dws/...5.507b933f.html

  19. No one to blame but himself, but hope he makes it back.
  20. You and your family will be in my prayers. Being someone who has lost both parents & a wife, I can say cherish your good memories and remember he will always be with you in spirit.
  21. From the article. Incredible, but seems that TD will have high school coaches around the state recruiting for the Mean Green. A fresh wind is blowin' thru Denton. When Glen West first heard that his longtime friend Todd Dodge was taking over as North Texas' head coach late last year, his thoughts quickly turned to Kevin Ealey. "I made the call to North Texas because I knew he would be a good fit there," Brenham's head coach said of his star cornerback. "Our defense is similar to what they are going to run. He is our best cover corner." Ealey named the friendship between West and Dodge as one of the reasons he passed on scholarship offers from UTEP and Houston to play for UNT. Arizona also made a late push for Ealey. "Coach Dodge is good friends with coach West," Ealey said. "That made me feel more comfortable. Coach Dodge really cares about his players."
  22. Can we make it a trade & give 'um Fouts ?
  23. I was at A&M in 1963 for a couple of months attending a specialized program. We stayed on campus at the Student Union Building (hotel). Great faculty & nice campus. Side notes. 1963 was a big year of change for the Aggies. Name changed from Texas A&M College to Texas A&M University & from all male to co-ed.
  24. Who knows, maybe baseball isn't the only issue ? There'll be a lot of competition at WR. He won't be the last one we lose for one reason or another. Wish him well.
