  1. A few Arkansas State folks have also been throwing darts.
  2. Haven't you noticed, some complain about EVERYTHING.
  3. Late Monday TicketCity sent word: It’s no longer the title sponsor of the New Year’s bowl game played for the last two years at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park. The reason, per the release: The New Year’s game has a new owner, and the new owner has other plans. Or, as TicketCity CEO Randy Cohen put it, “We would have loved to continue as the title sponsor, but the new ownership group is going in a different direction without a corporate sponsor.” That’s not exactly true, The News has learned. Daniel Huerta, Fair Park’s executive general manager, confirms there is a new ownership group replacing Tom Starr’s Dallas Football Classic, which brought TicketCity on board two years ago. But Huerta won’t say who the new group is, only that it’s “a new nonprofit” based in Dallas. Says Huerta this morning, “We’ve been meeting with them for the last several months, and we’re confident the bowl game will be a success. They don’t have TicketCity as a sponsor, but they do have a pretty good sponsor.” He says an official announcement will be made October 4 at noon on the steps of the Cotton Bowl, at which time all our questions will be answered. But The News has learned the name of the new umbrella organization, Heart of Dallas, and the name of at least one of those involved, Britton Banowsky — who happens to be the longtime commissioner of Conference USA and whose office confirms his involvement, along with “a number of people here locally” who will also sit on the board. 4. Speaking of physical abuse, might want to interview LSU's QB. He was really not treated well by the Mean Green.

  6. If Vito has an agenda, it's probably to move up to a bigger, better rag than the Record-Chronicle. Seems he's been stuck at the R-C a long time.
  7. Vito only does the North Texas write up for the magazine, He's not involved in their predictions/polls,
  8. Mean Green 31 Troy 24. Ball control style offense keeps the potent Troy offense off the field.
  9. By the TexasFootball.com Staff Texas was very impressive -- at least offensively -- against Ole Miss. Texas A&M clobbered SMU. Texas Tech hammered another lowly opponent. Baylor played with its food before hitting the gas against Sam Houston State. TCU made its Big XII debut with a sloppy win over the worst team in the conference. North Texas lost, but impressed with their effort against Kansas State. So, what does it all mean for our Power Poll, ranking the 12 FBS teams in Texas? Let's take a look. #6 North Texas - Another respectable road loss for the Mean Green. This team WILL be bowl eligible by season's end. http://www.texasfoot...ews/view/180065
  10. What will be this week's attendance ? Students still excited ?
  11. Troy vs Miss State was a Troy HOME GAME.
  12. 6. North Texas (last week 9, next week vs. Troy) — Take away that kick return and maybe the Mean Green could have snuck out of Manhattan with a stunner http://blog.mysanantonio.com/big12/2012/09/ut-remains-entrenched-as-no-1-team-in-dirty-dozen/
  13. Kansas State 35, North Texas 21 For the second time this season, UNT didn't back down from a tough road game against a Top 15 team. And for the second time, the Mean Green didn't leave with a win, but they should walk away with some confidence. UNT kept the Kansas State offense in check, only allowing 383 yards while forcing two turnovers. Meanwhile, Derek Thompson had a great day passing, especially considering the constant pressure from the KSU defense, completing all but three of his 29 passes for 204 yards. UNT only trailed 21-13 before KSU iced the game with two straight TDs in the fourth http://www.texasfootball.com/college-news/view/180061
  14. I'm sure you could hear a ripping sound while the game was still going on. Mac doesn't seem to be a shrinking violet when it comes to letting people know what he thinks.
  15. Post on the CUSA board sez that SMU is expecting a record crowd for Saturday's game vs Texas A&M/ Some temporary bleachers are being installed. Post on the Belt board sez Troy has only 2,000 tickets remaining & they should be sold out for the Mississippi State game.

  17. @ Texas @ Indiana vs SMU Tulsa was also an away game, but in 2014 they will be a conference game.
  18. Only if it would be a Mean Green home game.
  19. Old Dominion athletic director Wood Selig has asked Conference USA to provide the Monarchs with eight football opponents in 2014. According to www.fbsschedules.com, which tracks the future schedules of FBS teams, seven C-USA teams have open dates in 2014, not including UNC Charlotte - East Carolina, Marshall, Southern Mississippi, Tulsa, Rice, North Texas and Texas-El Paso. http://hamptonroads.com/2012/09/odu-asks-cusa-8-rivals-play-first-season-fbs
