The Truth seems to be in the middle for me

Is he heavier than a duck? -
Back to the original topic, good analysis by Emmitt. Most season predictions I read have had us losing to both SMU and Iowa but still getting six wins. I honestly don't know how many predicted first round of the NFL draft receivers we are do to face, but clearly our defense isn't ready for that. Remove Sutton and it would appear SMU was very beatable, but without Sutton other receivers would have been targeted more often. I didn't realize Fine was still top ranked after two games. I didn't realize we still were averaging over 40 points a game. We looked bad on Saturday, but two games into the year we've looked a lot worse. I think we are significantly improved, but SMU improved also. Most predictions put them in the top third of the AAC. We need to get better before league play as league play is what will get us in a bowl game. Saturday was awful, but we have another game coming up.

I just found out a few minutes ago that I'm going to be in McKinney during out game. Any suggestions on a place we could eat and watch that is also friendly for our three-year old son. Thanks in advance!

Both NT and SMU blew out Southland conference teams last week. The Southland plays in NCAA Division 1. In football, they play in the division 1 football championship subdivision. Lamar dropped football for a while but brought it back in 2011. Wikipedia lists Lamar's record as 202-263-9. They aren't a startup anymore and are roughly equal to the other Southland schools in resources. Actually, Lamar probably has stronger financial recourses than most of the Southland. SMU and NT played roughly equivient teams and blew them out by roughly equivalent amounts.

No, not yet.

Both can be done. Chuck Howley or Bob Lilly, I forget which, was super bowl v mvp on the losing team.

Wow, three qualifiers before athletic director. Are there any other "executive senior associates?" -
Yes and that's NOT a $5 million maximum, it's the minimum.

You've heard of a run on the bank creating crisises that weren't there. We're experiencing a gas station run!

Lamar sportswriter: UNT game "should" be cancelled

While I completely agree with the intent, I don't think you are considering the difference between "inkind" support and cash donations. Hotels and restaurants can supply rooms and food locally for very low out of pocket dollars compared to making a cash donation to send to SE Texas. -
That certainly didn't last long. Perhaps June to tell Art about jobs falling through at the last minute because of bad publicity.

Exactly! It's not going to be a straight line, there will be obstacles along the way and the will be detours. I really like that there are both stretch goals - those that will be difficult to achieve - mixed with the relatively easy goals. It's a LOT easier to get overall buy in if people can see that some things are already happening and other things are going to happen quickly.

He lost to a Top 25 team! G5 coaches don't get fired for that in the first game of the season.
-
Ouch. This might not be the promotion for American football the hosts were hoping for!

I didn't know that! I just confirmed kick off is Noon, Sunday, local time. https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2017/8/26/16110240/australia-stanford-rice-2017-football-game

Actually, twitter does call it tagging.

He's mostly upset about the pay cut he took to go to the Rams from SMU.

The book was so, SO much better.

I went with SMU.It's certainly tough since UTSA is a conference foe. But since we aren't likely to be competing for the Championship this year, then SMU is a higher profile game in our home market. Both count equally to get 7 wins, but one will get far, far more publicity in DFW.

Some call it willing to go toe to toe with the big boys. Others call it body bag games. I guess it's a matter of perspective.

Congratulations! The show is very well done.

South Alabama and North Texas to Play Series in 2024/2025
VideoEagle replied to UNTFan23's topic in Mean Green Football
This thread once again proves that scheduling is a no win proposition for the AD. No matter who is scheduled, a significant number will hate it. It appears we shouldn't play strong P5 teams as those are "bodybag" games. We shouldn't play FCS teams as no one cares and we might lose, even though the majority of FBS teams DO open with FCS teams and treat the game as a scrimmage. We should be scheduling only home and home series with G5 teams, but only the "right" G5 teams. Regardless of which ones are scheduled, those are never "right" for more a a small percentage. I don't feel like searching for the wrinkled hundred dollar bill picture, but that is what a lot of the complaining feels like. -
Was the President of the United States at that OU-Nebraska game? Did the TV network offer to move the game to a different weekend to accommodate the expected audience? There were a lot of things that simply didn't usually happen in addition to it being a matchup between #1 and #2. The additions give the 69 game bonus importance in the "game of the century" race.
