  1. should be a good warm up, would like to see some of our other big guys get more minutes to prepare for SB play, Holmen, Edwards, Knox, etc...
  2. we would mop the floor with either, so i would welcome the easy win
  3. not only that, but i read somewhere that he will have 3 years of eligablity ????? if thats the case, we could redshirt him this year, then we would have a great successor to Riley. Any thoughts?
  4. hahahahahahha this is awesome..... and to think people on this board were wanting the other kid from California... Glad we got this Osbourne kid. There will be little dropoff from starter to backup
  5. Steve Eager Fox 4 reported the win tonight. He mentioned JJ ties to LSU then told Clarise Tinsley good choice of wearing "MEAN GREEN" Glad we got regional recognition, and even a lil props for UNT. GMG
  6. JJ found his starting 5 for the rest of the season with the lineup of... 5 Ben Knox- Really improving this season... has ideal C size at 6'11" 4 George Odufuwa- He's playing like Trammel all because of Knox allowing him to play his true position 3 Tristian Thompson- Great scorer and great shooter... his streakyness will be crucial in the NCAA 1st rd. 2 Shannon Shorter- Defensive wizard, loved his game vs LSU, solid 3 pt shot 1 Josh White- The heart, the soul, the MVP... he had his way with LSU's freshman PG. After the Tech game and now the LSU game... i think its realistic that NT can win a game in the NCAA's... its gonna come down to us getting something lower than a #14 seed. If we get a #12 or #13 seed, that would mean playing a #5 or #4 seed which i think our team is capable of winning... its a long ways away, but UNT took a big step tonight in prooving many of the nay sayers wrong...
  7. LSU has lost to Nicholls State (6-4), Memphis (9-1), Coastal Carolina (10-2), Wichita State (9-2) and North Texas (10-2) that would look better
  8. of course the game will be on the radio right?
  9. their friends and families dont give a damn about UNT... they will root for whatever school their boy goes too... La Tech, SMU, TCU, Houston,etc.... im just stating the obvious, ive lived in Denton my whole life so i kinda have a feel for how Dentonites percive UNT... When a Denton athlete chooses to sign with La Tech or ULM i take that as a slap in the face... and its happend...many many many times so after seeing this go down for the past decade ive come to the conclusion... screw em we dont need em...
  10. he was cut by several NFL teams and now plays for the CFL Toronto Argonauts... of course just like every DISD athlete he chose to leave his hometown...
  11. in all honesty... within the city of Denton, the cities best talent hasnt really panned out ... outside of Jarvis Moss and Herman Johnson, none of the highly recruited guys out of DISD schools have made it into the NFL... UNT has several alums in the NFL!!!! if they dont feel a sense of pride in playing for your home city, then go ahead and get on the road son we wont missin ya!!! .... On top of that Jarvis and Herman were being recruited by the likes of LSU, Florida, Texas and Oklahoma... not sure we' ever have a shot at getting any of those kinds of recruits. But their are other recruits in the 2-4 star range who we could get but dont for whatever reasons... not to say some of those guys dont have good reasons but for the most part DISD athletes shun the U of NT... Point being who cares if these kids choose Stillwater, SMU, Ruston or Monroe over there home town. We dont need them... I have a list of DISD athletes who thought they were too good to go to UNT but now live back in town and you see on Fry St gettin drunk... You can get good football players all over the country. 3 highschools arent gonna hurt us in the big picture...
  12. if power commited to tennessee id be suprised and dissapointed, i thought we would have a good chance to get him
  13. damn La Tech is doing a nice job recruiting this year... that myles white is a player, and plus the stole ty hook from right under our noses.... i say add La Tech to the belt ASAP
  14. guess he doesnt have UNT listed, but the fox announcers definitley mentioned on the telecast that he was recieving intrest from his hometown school. he played extremely well in the state championship game especially on the kick return. It sounds like to me that coach mac already is intrested. his performance probably locked up him landing a d1 scholarship but i cant see how he would choose ULM over Denton, they can definitley promise him the world if they wanted though... but UNT always does a good job gettin RB's from under the radar so i wont be heartbroken if we dont get him. Kaylon Alexander
  15. correct me if im wrong, but they plan on joining the WAC in 2012... the WAC will only have 7 (latech,sjsu,usu,nmsu,ts-sm,utsa,idaho) teams in 2012. Dont you need atleast 8? i thought teams would have to choose indy or drop down to 1aa.
  16. glad to see we got riley a backup with some experience... also he will have 3 years so we will proably see him on the field at some point... as far as the Granger thing... I trust our coaches to bring in the best guy. Something had to be up with Granger, probably the spring transfer thing.
  17. man these people have lost there minds... unless TXST and UTSA join the SB, they prob wont ever compete in football at the FBS level. Mark my words.
  18. Today was a good day
  19. damn we needed this badly.... he should be a rock in the middle for atleast 2 years... hes exactly what we need, someone who can come in and make a difference immediately Great day for MG fans!!!
  20. he looks like a good run stopper... should be a good project for coach mac, this kid looks like a raw athlete
  21. on the telecast the announcer said of alexander , "he hasnt commited yet but North Texas has offered and is in his sights" or something to that affect
  22. "UNT has a precident to draw 30k during winning seasons" we have more fans & students than SMU does... given the right climate at NT, the "sleeping giant" could awaken for the 2011 season.
  23. haha this is why the uni designers wont be coming to GMG.com for advice
  24. man you just blew my mind with that one... i had no idea ISU were ranked #9??? i watch alot of football and i dont even remember that...
  25. i think Riley is the key to our success next year. he improved alot this year, so if we dont find a stud JUCO he will be driving the ship. im hoping coach mac can bring in some talent on the defense where we are hurting the most... but the Dodge - Dunbar connection will be in its prime next season... our offense was explosive at time this season, just wait until next year...im praying in the next few weeks we can bring in a 3* DT or LB... really anything we get on defense at this point will go a long way to help us win games next year... i think 6 wins should be everyones expectation... Houston and Indiana are very winnable games if like coach mac said, "we play good defense, good special teams, and good kicking...
