I was just reading a few articles today because I've been curious about the lack of mouthpiece enforcement. My original thought was that they were wearing the personalized ones w/o helmet attachments but legacy rules stipulated the mouthpiece had to be attached to the helmet. Apparently, I was wrong and that wasn't the reason. It turns out that most of the coaches weren't enforcing the rules themselves, so it was forcing the refs to be the "bad guy" and they were getting tired of getting yelled at by the coaches, so they quit enforcing it. I haven't paid any attention to what's been happening at UAB, so I didn't know most of the things mentioned in the article. Specifically, I didn't know that when Clark retrired in 2022, that the interim coach (Vincent) wasn't retained even after leading them to a bowl victory and he's now the coach that has ULM at 5-1.

No argument those numbers are horrible, but regarding ESPNU, are there people that have ESPN/ESPN2 and don't have ESPNU?

Agree and disagree. We're definitely doing a lot of "bump" tackles without any kind of wrap-up. That works fine on the sideline. I have seen some efforts at trying to strip the ball, although I'm often annoyed at seeing that because it is what often creates the extra 4-7yd runs where we're pulling at the ball but they're dragging us down the field while we're doing it. Size may be a factor in that.

Almost (if not all) states release the salary information for employees or it is available via FOIA at a minimum. Similarly, every player at a state school should have their NIL released as public information.

I have a good feeling (okay, it's really just wishful thinking) that we're gonna' be able to keep a few more guys this year if CM decides to stay here for his last year.
