  1. When I talked to them last week they said there was not an area designated for the LA members but that 204 was where many are sitting.
  2. Good choice. I never heard any positive results from the search, so I assume Ray won't be an option.
  3. Todd Dodge - with the whole stadium chasing after him. Pitchforks and torches are optional.
  4. How about the USF green? Looking at the USF game now - I like their green jersey color. Everybody says that dark green doesn't show up well on TV, but I think theirs looks good.
  5. He sure *looks* like a line coach. Hope this works out.
  6. I agree that the OP's video is one of the best I've seen. However, given that the new stadium's audio system should be a major improvement over the HORRIBLE audio system at Fouts, they could could play a station test pattern/tone and it would be tons better than anything we've experienced in the past 20 years. I'm embarrassed every time I hear the over-driven, distorted audio intro played. Sounds like a teenager's $40 car stereo for the 80's cranked up to 11. Luckily the embarrassment of the audio was offset by the impressive video presentation of some random, stuck graphics pattern on the small scoreboard. /sarc
  7. All of the points are valid, but I'm sure that Fouts Field went a LONG way in discouraging many recruits from coming here. Hopefully that is behind us now. I have been told that many times recruits have been excited during their trips and liked the facilities, but when they visited Fouts, the excitement drained from their faces. I'm sure growing up in Denton and seeing the dump their whole life made UNT a non-starter for many local players long before they were ever recruited.
  8. Aaarrgghhh!!!! What is SOW??? I've seen this referenced on the board forever and the only thing that comes to me is "Silver on White", but I'm sure that's not what it means. Maybe "Screaming Ol' Whatsits" "Sloth of Waco" "Streaking on Wednesday" "Save our Wombats" ????????
  9. What's worse is that it's full of Aggies!
  10. It's bad enough that the GREEN BRIGADE is dressed in nearly all black. We don't need the MEAN GREEN to be wearing all black. Imagine the cheers... East: "MEAN!!!" West" "BLACK with a little green accent!!!!" East: "MEAN!!!" West" "BLACK with a little green accent!!!!"
  11. I'm just adding a reply to see who shows up for my avatar....Come on cutie!!!! Damn! Not only did I not get a cutie (it's blank), but it calls me a "Bald Eagle". Well at least it didn't say "Fat, Bald, Eagle"
  12. I agree! I was never excited about the TD hire and was only partially excited with the McCarney hire until he retained Canales. With all of the positive signs I'm seeing to go along with our new stadium, I HAVE NEVER been this excited for the start of the next season!!!!
  13. Here's my favorite item from the FAQ:
  14. I need ONE ticket. I'm planning on buying THREE tickets. There's my charity. Now, I need to put a deposit down on 3 tix. Wait, I don't know how much tickets cost. If they end up being $150, I may only be able to buy 2 tix. So, I just wasted fifty bucks on a deposit I can't use. Why release something like this until the details are in place? Also, I didn't see anything about the deposit adding to MG points. Did I miss that somewhere?
  15. You say it's not confusing, but I still don't have an answer to the question, "What impact will it make to ME if I don't send in the deposit." I realize there are lots of reasons for UNT to be doing this. The obvious one is that this is a way to generate some quick cash. Businesses do it all of the time, but they have to offer some incentive to the customer to have them transfer their money from their personal account to the business. Where's my free toaster?
  16. Okay, I don't get the idea of the deposit. It says "It guarantees your spot at the new Football Stadium", but it says the seat selection process begins in the Spring and will be based on MG points. So, what's the point of this?
  17. Okay, I'm gonna' say it... "Chico and the Dan"
  18. Whether he chooses to keep Coach C or not is McCarney's choice, but if he doesn't know what Coach C did, then it already indicates a bad hiring.
  19. 7 OTs with FIU
  20. Ya' know, all you guys complaining about the TV coverage are right. From now on, I'm going to watch it on the UNT produced TV broadcast!! Oh, wait, what?!? You say that the UNT RTVF department wasn't producing their own broadcast of the game. Okay. Fine. I'll just tune on over to the UNT radio station and listen to the broadcast. Oh, what's this??!? Instead of broadcasting its own team's game K-UNT is broadcasting a high school game. Nice. Remeber what they say about stones and glass houses. mg
  21. Simple enough. Dodge finished 9th and Canales finishes 8th.
  22. I've noticed that the Cheerleaders/Dancers don't seem to be motivated enough. I am going to personally take on the position of Motivational Leader for these groups. I'll even provide this as a purely volunteer effort. Note: I think the male cheerleaders are motivated enough and won't need the obligatory butt-slap.
  23. While we're headed down memory lane...(if my memory doesn't fail me) about 5 years later, we would be ranked in the I-AA standings and headed out to face NLU (ULMonroe for you youngsters) led by Stan Humphries. Scott Davis led the MG to a great comeback in the 4th quarter only to have Keith Chapman hit the upright on the extra point to tie. I was on the sideline near the endzone and the echo of that "clang" still rings in my head. (No disrepect to Keith - he was a great kicker). Now, it wasn't a last second kick. IIRC, there was a over a minute or two to go, but it pretty much sealed the loss. The result, NLU was ranked ahead of us and we had to travel back to Monroe for the first round of the playoffs a few weeks later and we lost. Had we won the first game, our rankings would have gotten us a home playoff game and things might have been a lot different. BTW, NLU went on to win the I-AA championship that year, beating Marshall 43-42.
  24. I didn't support the TD hiring, but I might consider having him for another year given the overall factors, including *if* there is a better coach that is *interested* in this job. I don't have a clue as to whether TD can coach. I don't know if he's doing something wrong to cause the penalties. I don't know if he runs practices wrong. I don't know how bad Ohh-La-La is supposed to be. However, I do think he must be doing something right with the team's heart. With about 5:00 to go in 2nd quarter, I thought to myself that TD may be about 15 minutes of game-time in losing his program. There were too many mistakes, big plays, etc. that kept them playing uphill and I thought they could throw in the towel at any minute. (Don't forget the other adversities the team has had over the past few weeks.) Despite all this, the team kept scrapping until the end. Maybe they thought ULL was the last chance they had to win a game this year, or maybe he is doing at least one thing right.
