New Seat Selections For A Lot Of Fans Today
meaniegreenie replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I've never paid for a seatback since I sat on the top row of Fouts and leaned on the railing. The new seatbacks are AWESOME!!!!! They are molded plastic seats that sit a couple of inches off the bench. This example isn't exact, but it gives a rough idea of the kind of seat. IIRC, ours have a bit taller "base". There isn't any padding. I'm not tiny and it was cofy to me. I wish I would have taken a picture. Again, why doesn't the Ath. dept. provide this kind of stuff on the web site?!?!? It takes 10 minutes to take a picture and put it online. I also suggested to them that they take a couple of pictures of the seating chart and put that online. Even if they did a couple of updates a week, it'd really help people. They see the chart everyday and I don't think they realize that we have absolutely no idea how/where the seating is filling. At noon today, I was surprised to see how FEW seats had been taken. I expected a large portion of the lower sections to be gone. I don't remember the details, but I think only a small number had been selected in Section 103 for example. BTW, for anybody that's interested, the Letterman's section is the lower half of Section 204. Also, there were a couple of other areas blocked off. I think it was 209 or 210 had something like visiting recruits or something and there was another section but I don't remember what it was for. -
New Seat Selections For A Lot Of Fans Today

Thanks, you answered my (confusing) question. I'm considering either the lower bowl or section 205. I've always sat at the top row of lower level in Fouts in order to lean back on the railing and to easily get in/out. So, I'm thinking of the same here. But I'm also considering the row behind/beside the "tunnel" areas. I have no idea how much seating is left for my appt. tomorrow, so I'm trying to get all of my 2nd, 3rd choices lined up. This is the frustrating part about not seeing the seat in person in that you have no idea how much leg room, etc. is in any of the sections. Seems like they could have taken a few "choice" still shots over the past week or so and posted these online, along with an actual seat number mapping of the whole stadium. It's not like they don't already have the map created. Just publish it. -

Could someone comment with the information regarding how many seats are in each row, specifically for sections 104 and 205? I'm trying to figure out how many seats are split in the "tunnel" access part of the lower 3 rows. -
Wow. Just wow. Thanks for a great season and for giving us a chance to catch a game on TV.

Okay, I don't get it. Other than the the guy with the mic at the end and the chunky girl in the red that was having spasms during the entire song, it just looked like band practice to me.

Yikes! Someone Wrecked Our New Stadium!

Come see the new Mean Green Stadium designed by Salvador Dali!!! -
I'm a big UT fan - certainly not a hater like some on here, but their truck is horrible. I'm surprised you can't see a partially painted-over "Big Al's Moving" down the side. All of the other Big 12 ones are great except for Missouri which is kinda' plain. Nebraska's even got a painted helicopter!

See What Happens When You Talk Up The Green...
meaniegreenie replied to meanJewGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
It's easier now that we have an equal commitment from UNT. I've wanted to wear UNT gear in public, to work, etc. forever, but it just wasn't worth the agony. It wasn't so much ridicule, as it was the questions/comments like, "Don't you guys have that high school coach?", "Ya'll are Division II, right?", etc. The facilities will be a BIG help in this area. I expect to get more comments like, "Yeah, I drove through Denton a few weeks ago and man that stadjum looks great!" Andi if not, I can still say to those who question our status with, "Have you seen the new stadjum?". Bottom line though, is W-Ls. If coach Mac gets us winning again, along with the other positives, it'll be tons easier to chat up UNT.- 16 replies

What exactly is the priority parking pass? I've always parked in the free lots, so don't know much about the parking situation, but I'm more interested now that it's across the highway.

Where To Watch U N T Football In Collin County?
meaniegreenie replied to UNT 90 Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
I hear there's going to be a pretty cool place to watch about half of the FB games just up the road, right where I-35 splits into I-35E and I-35W!! Seriously, keep us updated on the status. Hopefully, you can get something setup in time to catch the Mean Green on TV during our next March Madness appearance in a couple of months. -
I watched it on TV. Does that count?
-
Yeah, has too much of a Michigan look to it.

I think I didn't like the interlocking logo because of the star. Anybody want to give it a try with one of the SOW's? The smaller one might work better for this.
-
Yeah, that's what I was thinking and why I thought maybe it would be better if a little smaller.
-
Also, while I like the new eagle (SOW-2??), I think it's too small for a helmet. I still like the one on Smitty's (is that SOW-1??) better, but I think it needs to be a little smaller, maybe halfway between the size of the two.

I'm always in support of the darker green over light, but that "Worm" helmet is great and gives us a really unique look, i.e. the true definition of ICONIC. For me, WormHelmet=McDonalds=NorthTexas. I grew up in a small town (<1000) in the mid-70s and Fouts field was pretty much the biggest structure that I regularly saw. As a kid, driving past Fouts and sometimes getting to stop in at McDonalds to see the "helmet lights" was a treat.

Why Aren't The Networks Carrying The Big Games?
meaniegreenie replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
Loved when he called "Touchdown!!" on about the 10 yard line on O's play that didn't make it into the endzone. In fact, they didn't even score on the drive. -
Ugghh!!! HATE the logo. But love the color.

And even though it's not on ABC, we still have to listen to MouseBurger. All they need to do is hire Siragusa away from Fox and add him to the game, then I'd probably shoot out the speakers on my TV. -
When I talked to them last week they said there was not an area designated for the LA members but that 204 was where many are sitting.
