I think I didn't like the interlocking logo because of the star. Anybody want to give it a try with one of the SOW's? The smaller one might work better for this.
-
Yeah, that's what I was thinking and why I thought maybe it would be better if a little smaller.
-
Also, while I like the new eagle (SOW-2??), I think it's too small for a helmet. I still like the one on Smitty's (is that SOW-1??) better, but I think it needs to be a little smaller, maybe halfway between the size of the two.

I'm always in support of the darker green over light, but that "Worm" helmet is great and gives us a really unique look, i.e. the true definition of ICONIC. For me, WormHelmet=McDonalds=NorthTexas. I grew up in a small town (<1000) in the mid-70s and Fouts field was pretty much the biggest structure that I regularly saw. As a kid, driving past Fouts and sometimes getting to stop in at McDonalds to see the "helmet lights" was a treat.

Why Aren't The Networks Carrying The Big Games?

Loved when he called "Touchdown!!" on about the 10 yard line on O's play that didn't make it into the endzone. In fact, they didn't even score on the drive. -
Ugghh!!! HATE the logo. But love the color.

And even though it's not on ABC, we still have to listen to MouseBurger. All they need to do is hire Siragusa away from Fox and add him to the game, then I'd probably shoot out the speakers on my TV. -
When I talked to them last week they said there was not an area designated for the LA members but that 204 was where many are sitting.
-
How about the USF green? Looking at the USF game now - I like their green jersey color. Everybody says that dark green doesn't show up well on TV, but I think theirs looks good.

He sure *looks* like a line coach. Hope this works out.

I agree that the OP's video is one of the best I've seen. However, given that the new stadium's audio system should be a major improvement over the HORRIBLE audio system at Fouts, they could could play a station test pattern/tone and it would be tons better than anything we've experienced in the past 20 years. I'm embarrassed every time I hear the over-driven, distorted audio intro played. Sounds like a teenager's $40 car stereo for the 80's cranked up to 11. Luckily the embarrassment of the audio was offset by the impressive video presentation of some random, stuck graphics pattern on the small scoreboard. /sarc

All of the points are valid, but I'm sure that Fouts Field went a LONG way in discouraging many recruits from coming here. Hopefully that is behind us now. I have been told that many times recruits have been excited during their trips and liked the facilities, but when they visited Fouts, the excitement drained from their faces. I'm sure growing up in Denton and seeing the dump their whole life made UNT a non-starter for many local players long before they were ever recruited.

Aaarrgghhh!!!! What is SOW??? I've seen this referenced on the board forever and the only thing that comes to me is "Silver on White", but I'm sure that's not what it means. Maybe "Screaming Ol' Whatsits" "Sloth of Waco" "Streaking on Wednesday" "Save our Wombats" ????????

So Long To The Mean Green Club Deck?

What's worse is that it's full of Aggies! -
It's bad enough that the GREEN BRIGADE is dressed in nearly all black. We don't need the MEAN GREEN to be wearing all black. Imagine the cheers... East: "MEAN!!!" West" "BLACK with a little green accent!!!!" East: "MEAN!!!" West" "BLACK with a little green accent!!!!"

I'm just adding a reply to see who shows up for my avatar....Come on cutie!!!! Damn! Not only did I not get a cutie (it's blank), but it calls me a "Bald Eagle". Well at least it didn't say "Fat, Bald, Eagle"

It's Like Some Sort Of Football Dream World!
meaniegreenie replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree! I was never excited about the TD hire and was only partially excited with the McCarney hire until he retained Canales. With all of the positive signs I'm seeing to go along with our new stadium, I HAVE NEVER been this excited for the start of the next season!!!! -
Joe Minden Is Tearing It Up

Here's my favorite item from the FAQ:
-
I need ONE ticket. I'm planning on buying THREE tickets. There's my charity. Now, I need to put a deposit down on 3 tix. Wait, I don't know how much tickets cost. If they end up being $150, I may only be able to buy 2 tix. So, I just wasted fifty bucks on a deposit I can't use. Why release something like this until the details are in place? Also, I didn't see anything about the deposit adding to MG points. Did I miss that somewhere?
-
You say it's not confusing, but I still don't have an answer to the question, "What impact will it make to ME if I don't send in the deposit." I realize there are lots of reasons for UNT to be doing this. The obvious one is that this is a way to generate some quick cash. Businesses do it all of the time, but they have to offer some incentive to the customer to have them transfer their money from their personal account to the business. Where's my free toaster?
-
Okay, I don't get the idea of the deposit. It says "It guarantees your spot at the new Football Stadium", but it says the seat selection process begins in the Spring and will be based on MG points. So, what's the point of this?
-
Okay, I'm gonna' say it... "Chico and the Dan"
