    Two years. Let me repeat that...Two Years!! Two years from now, things are going to be a lot different around here. We're gonna' look around and wonder how far we've come in such little time. It's gonna' make the wasted time of the Dodge era seem even more disgraceful. But all of that is going to be in our rear-view mirror. This football team is headed in the right direction and with a lot of force. There's gonna' be some setbacks. We're going to lose some games we should have won and this board will blow up for a bit. We may get some injuries that knock us off track for a bit. But when we look around in about TWO YEARS, things are gonna' be looking pretty good. For now, enjoy the minimal traffic problems. Enjoy having plenty of leg room to spread out. Enjoy the short lines at concessions and restrooms. Take in the last few moments of listening to your co-workers be dismissive or "meh" at your MEAN GREEN, because things are about to change. As this forum's title says..."Coach Mac is our leader and will take us to the promised land". We are starting to see the signs of this and in about two more years, it'll really begin to shine BRIGHT GREEN! Mark it!!

    I just watched that 2nd video and got all fired up again! There was 5-1/2 minutes of really nice highlights showing us playing toe-to-toe with a top 20 team. Often in games like this, the highlights are nothing more than a smattering of decent plays that happened during the course of a game. There may be a few 15-20yd (meaningless) plays in the middle of the field or some kind of broken play that gained good yardage. This was different. There were just too many plays showing us having success and pushing K-State around. I really liked what Canales did with the play calling, which while it has been called conservative I think it really was a plan to take advantage of what we could do. The shuffle passes, end arounds, etc. all worked pretty well. And we stayed "ahead of the chains" a lot of the night. Woo! Get me some more Koolaid! I'm ready do go!!!

    I don't generally notice these kinds of things, but watching the Mean Green Insider highlights, I kept noticing #57 constantly being downfield on plays. On a lot of the plays he was pulling, so it made it likely that he'd be out front, but there were lots of plays where this wasn't the case and he was getting good blocks on the LBs and was moving people around. Keep it up Mason!

    24-23 Green Guys Defense gets a TD and holds the kitties to 2 TDs and 3 FGs Offense scores on one long pass play and one break away run and gets a FG after a sustained drive.

    That was cool and I don't remember seeing it before. However, as was stated in the other thread, any kind of greenout, whiteout, etc. is totally premature. If half the stadium is wearing "invisible" shirts, it just doesn't matter. First step is to put butts in the seats. Now if some sort of "shirt" promotion helps with that, then all the better. But a more unique promotion is better at this stage, like the sunglasses night, just to get people to the game. I really like how the program is targeting the incoming freshman. If we continue to do that AND start winning, this whole thing is gonna' change on its own. At that point we should have 30k fans all dressed in 20 shades of green, pink, white, maroon, blue, etc. and we could start addressing the color-coordination of the fans.

    I suspect the coaches are using the ULM win for even more fuel to convince the team that they can win every game they play.

    Exactly. I think we're the only school using a color as a noun. Not Green Wave, Green Thunder, or Green Whatever. We are the MEAN GREEN! This uniqueness should be used constantly as part of making a recognizable ICONIC image for UNT. Instead of worrying about whether somebody passing by a TV will know that we're North Texas because it says so on our helmets, we should have such a BadA$$ color of green that is unique, CONSISTENT, totally recognizable, and immediately identifies us as the University of North Texas Mean Green. With that said, I'd be a little queezy if we went back to the 70's Worm colors, but on the other hand, it sure would be identifiable. Part of me even likes the idea of trying something wild like a NEON green. I bet Nike could come up with something cool for us. (Just leave out the silver reflective tape!)

    BTW, Arkie's QB was knocked out of the game late in the 1st half. Still this was a helluva win for the Injuns Warhawks.

    Also of note... There were extended times that Tiger Stadium got pretty quiet and it wasn't simply because they were all just tired from cheering too long.

    Also, did anybody watch the "DIY Beer Bottle Bookends" video on the right side of the comments? Step 1: Fill 2 empty beer bottles with water Step 2: Put a cap on each Step 3: Place beside books This guy should file a patent!

    According to the story, Coach Mac might eventually have to get a replacement (glass) eye. In the unfortunate case that it does result in this, maybe he'll consider this option, at least for game days!

    There's two threads going about getting the stadium filled. I think it'd be good to target the 10/16 ULaLa game for one of these. On a Tues night with national TV should be a good way to get tons of students at the game.

    Wow, I completely misread this. I'm gathering from the other posts that this was some kind of ANIMAL mascot (bulldog I assume) that was found dead. I was thinking it was a HUMAN (i.e. costumed mascot) that was found dead. I don't do Twitter and couldn't infer from the original posting that this was a dog.
