For a second I was starting to worry about the scoring record from our Navy game, but they still need 3 more TDs to get there. That's about a turnover per minute which is still possible given UH's performance tonight.

Somebody better check the bridge for Cougar King. I think ULL has some unused reauxpe to spare.
-
And worse 10 seconds into 2nd half! Wow, wish this Houston team would have played us!

Thanks for posting this! My DVR cut off with about 6:00 to go.

LOL!! +1 to both of you!

You mean you didn't get a copy of the rulebook?

Ooohh, man, it's like you're reading my thoughts!! Get outta' my head!!

Watching the recording of the game tonight and it seemed much brighter than any Fouts game.
-
It certainly sounded like they turned up the speakers to 11. Maybe I just have one pointed at me, but it sure seemed louder last night.

Oh, noes!! After hearing this, RV's gonna' double the font size on our helmets!

I went with Delgado and JimJim too and I think DT gets an Honorable Mention as well.

BTW, what is the group of girls that sit in the upper part of the South end of the alumni side? It's a pretty good sized group and they seem to have some good enthusiasm. I think they were in gray/white shirts last night. They even got some time on the big screen.

What is your favorite Apogee Concession?

I'll say it again. No corney dogs! 8-( -
Agree, this was nowhere near rushing the field, although the mere fact that it is considered just shows how pitiful things have gotten. With that said, when it really does come time to rush the field, a few security guards aint gonna' stop it.
-
Not only was Cougar King "streaking" with clothes on, did you see how he totally gave up. He pretty much walked up to the security guys and stopped. Didn't even try to make them chase him. I think about 5 seconds into it, he realized he have f'd up and lost his commitment.

Ooohhh, gives me goosiebumps!! Let's see something like this at the Pit!

I thought the student side was the best since the Houston game. However, their band and fans took up a pretty good amount of space. The alumni side was pathetic. I understand why, but I felt my section (205) was really empty. C'mon 205, step it up! It did seem really loud. I can only dream about what it'd be like if it ever is 90-100% full. On that note, it was really great when they had those two false starts on 3rd down early in the game and the crowd seemed to feed off of it and got louder. Of course, they ended up converting on 3rd and looongg which was equally deflating. One last thing and I could be way off base here, but for the longest time UNT was known as a commuter school and I assume that's still largely true. Factor in the number of part-time students taking night classes, grad students, and other general students that don't care much about athletics (cultural factors), and the number of "students" could be down closer to the 20k mark. If we're getting the majority of those showing up then I think that's not bad.

Yeah, it's my understanding that JimJim doesn't have a handle on all of the blocking assignments. But I said the same thing...how hard can it be to know the blocking if we run the same dang play. His TD in the 3rd qtr was the turning point to the game and may have been a turning point for the rest of the season. Just like in the Troy game, the crowd was just anxious to see something positive (a TD) from the offense. I know a lot of it was due to us wearing ULL down, but it definitely seemed like things changed once we finally got a TD.

We did have a lot of low snaps on the kicks, but the holder did a great job of getting it down each time.

Will we look back on this game as "the pivotal" game?

I heard the NCAA is investigating to see if they need to be concerned with the high rate of concussions occurring in the UNT fanbase due to the many episodes of emotional whiplash we've encountered over the years. -
It's not time to throw in the towel.....

I found an older discussed this a bit more. Looks like Dodge invested heavily in JUCOs. What I don't understand is how that impacts the later scholarship numbers. Wouldn't the ones allocated to JUCOs expire and then be ready for Coach Mac by now. Is it that there just weren't enough decent, interested recruits in the past two classes to fill out our backlog? If so, why do we assume there'll be enough this year. In that thread, Harry says, "When Dodge was heading into his 4th year, I pointed out here and in other places that we were really hurting the UNT program, as well as the new coach that took his place and the opening of our new stadium. The reason was, Dodge HAD to win to save his job and he was willing to mortgage the future of the program to do it via juco. Dodge knew that he could not get it done with the players he had and could not get it done in time through high school recruits." -
Forget it, I'm rollin'

I've heard Coach Mac say after several games that the team had a great week of work and that he is happy with the effort. I don't think he's just doing "coach speak" to all of this. I really think he sees a team that is generally made up of less talent than the opponents, but that they are giving it their very best effort in practice and on the field. If this really is true, then it is a good sign that Mac is getting buy-in from the players. Yes, it would be better if they were able to constantly play above their skill level, but that's not likely to happen.
