Yes, I agree, the play calling was offensive.

We didn't play very well and as usual, there's some play calling concern, but the game pretty much boiled down to two big plays that gave up 14 quick points. We should have won this game and we would have if it had been a 5 quarter game. We simply ran out of time after having our usual slow start and then giving away 2 scores. I'm really bummed about this loss, since it shows that we really aren't as good as our hopes had led us to believe. As others have said, we really need to be successful this year since we will be losing a lot of seniors and we had a good chance given our favorable schedule. I think the worst part of this game is that we had the extra week off and still came out flat.

It seemed that our hard hitting reputation had more of an impact on the refs than Tulane and that they were looking to make PF calls. Perhaps some of the refs were Ball State alumni.

Being an "oldguy", I bet you do remember there being a dress code. IIRC, girls couldn't wear jeans or they risked the wrath of Miss Imogene, correct?

I'm sure we'll find out when the reprimand and/or lawsuit comes through.

Okay, so we got the ATT jammers working. Now just need to hit Verizon, DTV, Dish, and terrestrial TV and everybody will have to come into the stadium to see the game! I guess we can leave the MGRN signal alone so Jub-Jub's game calling can get through for those that want to listen to him while watching the game.

I say we invest in some high-power jammers. We could just blame the interference on the turbines.

I really hope this catches on. I love h'ween and want this to be a big success. Would love to see tons of kids, students, and adults dressed up.

I wasn't sure if it was a crappy printed logo or what, but the description says "tackle-twilllogo". Having no idea what that was, a little googling indicates that "tackle-twill" is a sewn in process, but it looks like the quality can vary a lot among the various retailers. I didn't order one, but hopefully it ends up being a good quality product for those that did.

Yeah, or I didn't think about what interesting twist the students or band might put on it.

Okay, here's my dumb little idea for the day. I hear talk about us having a real home-field advantage at Apogee. I don't really think it's quite there yet since it's influenced a lot by the quality of the teams we have played at home. (Although, I really think that ULL game was an advantage.) But that's not the point. Anyway, if we can really turn Apogee into a hostile/advantageous place (would help to have a full stadium), I think a chant of "Ap-o-gee, Ap-o-gee, Ap-o-gee..." would be pretty cool. It's got a good cadence and tone that would be easy to chant and it sends a little love back to the company for giving us those sweet $$$'s. I'm sure they'd love to hear the TV announcers say, "Looks like the fans have gotten into their usual Apogee chant as UNT wraps up another good home win."

Along this topic, during TV games, there's usually an "advertisement" video that is run from each school and usually from the conference. Anyway, did anybody else notice in the UNT video during the Georgia game that it showed FB highlights in FOUTS!!!!

Exactly. We eventually lost pretty big, but we were driving to take the lead at one point in the second half. If we would have been going 3 and out and never stopping them, then that would have been an ass-whipping, but this was definitely not that.

To keep a MG theme to this thread... After playing Plumm's video, I clicked on one of the next ones that came up. It was Cosell doing MNF halftime stats from a game in 1972. I left it playing the background when all of a sudden I hear (at 1:30) Cosell doing the Dallas-SanFran highlights and points out the SanFran "D", being typified by CEDRIC HARDMAN as he sacks Craig Morton. Nice!!

Thousands of cars are driving by on I-35 during the game. I guess that's part of the "atmosphere" too, but I don't see it being of much benefit to winning. Maybe we should put up signs, "Honk if you know there's a game going on over here!".
