  1. The long snapper had an injury a couple of games ago. I don't think it was serious, but it may have some effect on the recent FG issues.
  2. What's worse is that your first two points happened NUMEROUS times this year. And for short distances, why not put in a couple of 300 pounders in the backfield to push? Maybe put Roderick Brown in the backfield and either give it to him or use him as a decoy and let him push the pile forward.
  3. That's Wright, that's Wright, we bad!
  4. I guess th only question is whether it will be more or less than 77?
  5. To your point, even if you are intend to run a hurry-up offense, there are times when it makes sense to SLOW TF DOWN. Too many times our D would finally get off the field, either by a punt or score, then the offense would start at the 22 and run 3 plays that took only 0:50 seconds off the clock. This might consist of a caught pass and a running play, after which we would snap the ball with 20+ seconds on the play clock. Add in one incomplete pass and your 3-and-out not only rested the D for less than 5 minutes (3 minute commercial and 2 minutes of execution), but it took less than a minute off the clock, lengthening the game. This happened numerous times. An air-raid offense should only have the rare 3-and-out from their own 20. We usually had at least 2 per game. Often on the opening drive.
  6. This also roughly coincides with the explosion of the popularity of 7on7 football. BTW, here's an interesting article on it with a lot of local ties: https://www.texasstandard.org/stories/how-seven-on-seven-turned-texas-into-a-quarterback-factory/
  7. You could certainly hear them on the broadcast.
  8. Coming out of a T/O, your players DON"T know the down/dist situation?!?!?
  9. Actually, letting him score would be EM mentality (and, in reality, it is our only chance.)
  10. Apparently, we must have misunderstood that we weren't supposed to suit up the teddy bears.
  11. Need their offense to make some holding penalties to bail us out
  12. Barely got the XP off and not a great kick either.
  13. Remember when we had really good special teams and S&C program?
  14. Why do I get the feeling that our good young players are auditioning for the portal.
  15. Probably about time for CM to throw one right to an ECU player.
  16. We rush 3 and I guy is wide open and not because he had all day to throw it
  17. Finally, some coaching sanity. I'm surprised he didn't tell himself, they won't drop another pass on this drive, so I'll go for it.
  18. Penalty puts us on the 40, so 4 down territory unless we lose yardage.
  19. Especially, since if you don't get it, you put them in 4 down territory too. At least we have a chance of stopping them back at the 20 with only 3 downs.
  20. And better ball control by the Offense to maintain drives by staying ahead of the chains. Some was due to better execution and passing, but also not forcing too many long passes that leave you with 2nd and 10, then 3rd and 5, then a failed 4th and 1. Not trying those may have been dictated by the strong wind.
  21. I'd have to see percentages and breakdowns of Journalism majors and application demographics before making any kind of informed comment on this.
  22. Possibly, but also some athletic/academic ability as well. UT swimming/diving 2017 Academic All-Big 12 (first team) 2016 Academic All-Big 12 (first team) 2015 Academic All-Big 12 (first team) 2013-14 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team Member of Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll (Fall 2013, Spring 2014, Fall 2014) https://texaslonghorns.com/sports/womens-swimming-and-diving/roster/smacker-miles/6905
  23. I don't know. This just seems to have possible issues. People in sections 2xx or the wing are expected to get soft animals thrown all the way to the field. They're gonna' be bombing everybody (all 300 of them) in section 1xx. I guess they then re-throw them to the sideline. (Now picture cheerleaders wiping off nacho cheese and wringing beer/coke out of all the lovely bears.) Optionally, those in the upper levels could insert a weight into the toys to make them go farther (maybe a battery??). That outta' help (anybody from Philly in the house??!?!). Of course, there are MUCH worse ways it could go: Finally, I hope this gets some nice toys to many kids but I really wish it would have been marketed better.
  24. I had the same reaction when I saw it and I had just been commenting on how they never quit, but I think their lack of success that day along with continued lack of support from the offense finally got to them.
