Re: Chubba Watched every Nebraska game this season. Average at best arm strength. Decent runner. Could barely get on the field for the worst QB room in the country. They just got the number 1 QB recruit in the country so he would never see the field. Set your expectations accordingly gents. Will be happy to have him and I think he'll be serviceable, but would hope for better options. Maybe he will blossom with more playing time.

Still believe in Morris.....for now. Honestly the fix is pretty simple. Offense is more than adequate to win games. On defense: *remove the DC. Shake things up. *Get more guys closer to the line of scrimmage. Getting destroyed up front. Our guys look slow and small. *Need half a dozen new defensive players through the portal. AT LEAST Nothing would make me happier than beating SMU. But I fear they will hang 60 on us unless we catch a few breaks.

Boy I sure want to support Coach Morris and was ok with the hire, but his comments about the defense are just comical. It's clear the scheme/philosophy is not working. Doesn't matter the reason. Put your best 11 players on the field and figure out a defensive scheme that works better than currently constructed. Figure it out. Somehow. That's literally your job. Don't make excuses about not having the right players, etc. Nonsense. Keep it super simple and let your athletes make plays. Play a 5-2-4. Make it work Coach. Pull your defense aside and tell them guys this is it....we are going play smart and fast and let you make plays to the best of your abilities. Now go out there and play your asses off.

That Facebook page info needs to be sent to every single NT alum and student possible immediately. Almost everyone has Facebook. They need to do the same for Instagram.

Agree. Just my opinion as a very proud alum, but it sure seems that Vito never misses a chance to passive aggressively belittle the university, but mostly the football program. I do think that Coach Morris actively engaging the student body as much as possible and generating some enthusiasm, will hopefully get more butts in the seats. I'm optimistic about the hire and hope we can get some great assistant coaches and some game changing transfers.

If we win today, this will all be academic. Seth will be back. Not much choice. If we lose, there is at least a small chance he will be gone, however I highly doubt it. My personal opinion is that a change needs to be made as we move into a new conference. The status quo isn't good enough. Fan apathy is so high, the program needs a jolt of new energy. If he stays, recruiting will need to go up big time. Getting destroyed by SMU makes me sick.

I personally think they look awesome, and most importantly the players love them....

My 2 cents: Seth is a good coach-not great , but certainly not bad. I'd say his demeanor could use some work, but it is what is is. Fan/Alumni apathy is very high(nothing new). Enthusiasm around the program is usually pretty low. He has been here for several years and maybe its just time to start fresh. Nothing against the man personally. The players seem to like him. He beats the bad teams and occasionally beats a pretty good team, but getting our asses kicked by SMU every year now is getting so old. The bowl games have been pretty bad as well. At least be more competitive. Hit the portal much harder maybe? It's time we raise our expectations, even just a little bit.... This might sound over simplified, but if we could just beat SMU occasionally, local alumni(casual fans) would take more interest in the program and maybe we could move forward with more alumni support/donations/ticket sales. Those of us who read this board and follow the team closely are always going to support the team. But if we could just engage/tap into some of the thousands of local alumni, I think that could carry us to a higher level of enthusiasm and recognition.

GrandGreen gets it. Many teams have far worse "adversity" to deal with.

Re: Fuente....Guys if this happens, make no mistake--it is a home run hire. Need to root for VT to lose. Unlikely SL will return, baring a minor miracle. *Transfer Portal needs to be hit hard, no matter who is the coach next year.

Good pick up by Rice. Better than Bean but similar arm. Really wants to play QB but skillset is much better suited toward slot. Weak arm but a playmaker. Really fast. Had his moments at Nebraska watched him every game. Not a big 10 level QB. Needs to accept that his arm is not D1 caliber.

Gonna have to agree here guys....this is quick frankly a joke. Literally hundreds of more qualified candidates out there. Unreal.

Part of college football these days. We don't really have it that bad, but I'd sure love to pick up a few transfers soon. Could be worse-I've followed Nebraska football all my life and they have lost like 8 4 star players in the last year. Its comical.

Totally agree with everything The ColonyEagle said. Let's see if SL makes the necessary changes in coaching and recruiting over the next 60 days or so.... If not....the program risks losing some/all of the goodwill and enthusiasm is gained over the last few years.
