  1. Wasn't there just a big ass barbeque that they all attended?
  2. I think it needs to be pointed out in this thread that better regional games are a priority for Rick Villareal. He has stated this since he first got the job. Many of the games we are playing now were set up a long time ago. Next year we should start to see some of RV's leg work where scheduling is concerned. Add a new stadium and it makes a trip to Denton a little more appealing. But also remember many of the teams you mentioned are conference opponents. Those games are a necessity. If we keep moving up then conference reallignment will help our home attendance. Keep moving forward b/c we can't afford to move back. On a thread hijack note...How's Gary DeLoach doing in California? Edit. Here's his bio. GO MEAN GREEN
  3. There has never been an administration as closely tied to big oil as this one. Any inside pull? GO MEAN GREEN PARTY.
  4. I've got an idea. And it's just crazy enough to work... You rename the "NO Bowl" the "Hurricane Bowl". You won't know well in advance where it'll happen. But once the conference champion is decided, we chose a place close to that city. We could probably narrow it down to 4 or five venues before the season starts. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Red Cross, of course. BTW what happens to the Sugar Bowl?
  5. For purely selfish reasons I choose the Alamodome, but it should end up in Shreveport at the Indy bowl, b/c Louisiana can use all the help they can get.
  6. Sorry. My "damn liberals" comment was said in fun.
  7. Damn liberals.
  8. Congrats. You are insane. Although using GGII as a barometer, you are the most mentaly stable person I've met on line.
  9. Count to political shut down...3...2...1...
  10. John Denver, for the most part I think you're on the money. If the only drinking water I can find is behind a glass case, that case is coming down. Some people are taking stuff they don't need, it does not mean you should hunt them down like an animal. Some people just suck. Prosecute them later. Right now, just help out the people who need it.
  11. So our only two affiliates have christian based programming. I don't care who you are, that's funny. We need more radio coverage. However it comes.
  12. Camping in Ruston, Louisiana 3 years ago I was able to pick up "The Word". So I imagine their signal strength travels into Longview pretty well. Point of clarification, it's not a satelite signal. It's a radio broadcast signal. I also imagine that the station in Houston will carry all the games. And that should be promoted. We really need to get on the ball when it comes to broadcasting our games on the radio. We used to have a station in Waco up until 3 or 4 years ago.
  13. Longview High School beat former ditrict foe, Marshall, 28-16. Looks like a good year for my Lobos. Quick quote form the local rag: ‘‘It was nice to go out and execute on the first drive and get a touchdown,'' said Lobo head coach John King of his team's 28-16 win over Marshall in Friday's 2005 high school football opener. ‘‘I thought Adrian (Reese) made a great play on the pass down the middle of the field. The guy was riding him the whole way and he still made the catch. That kind of set the tone for the first half.'' Tailback Vondrell McGee appears to be the stud of the team.
  14. It's a pretty good piece. They caught up with him earlier during the kids football camp. There's a lot of video of him coaching kids. When he was on cam he wore a NT hat and shirt very visibly. The focus of course was on him , UT and what he's been up to since he left. Plummer will probably be dissapointed to hear he has a "horns" sticker on his car. He also said there are a lot of horns fans in the Dallas area to talk to.
  15. At about 9:40 tonight KTBC will run a story on our new DB coach, Van Malone. He's a former UT player and will be the feature on the "Where are they now" segment during Longhorn camp. It should be on the web site tonight or tomorrow.
  16. Why's it got to be about color? That's racial dog. GO MEAN GR... Wait a minute... GO TEAM GO!
  17. I'd like to take JaMario for obvious reasons plus the fact that he's from my home town, but that's not the direction of this thread. So I'm picking someone I know nothing of, just b/c he attended the same JC as me. Marquis Ellison DE 6-1 255 Jr. Houston, TX (Kilgore JC) I was the biggest Awasome fan for so long, I had to pick a DE. GO MEAN GREEN!
  18. The tv station I work for (KTBC) will run a brief piece on Van Malone, our new db coach. We are in the middle of "Longhorn Camp" and each day we do a "where are they now?" segment. I brought up Van's name to our sports director and low and behold they traveled up to Denton to do a story. So if you live in the Austin area be sure to watch Thursday night around 9:40 or so. KTBC TV FOX 7 (Ch 2 Cable). When we put the story on the web, I'll provide a link. The guys up there said they knew football season was rolling around when I started sending them all my NT hype. (As though they didn't alredy know football season was here.) GO MEAN GREEN!
  19. What is DD's reccord?
  20. No, I think we have the past two national rushing leaders.
  21. Guys, We've all yelled, "Throw the ball." It's not exactly an uplifting chant, though.
  22. b/c I'm not a subscriber I have no idea of the content of the MGR. I can report rumors from Austin that another reason Mack wanted practices closed is Vince Young is throwing in the dirt. His midrange is phhhhllltttt. Just rumor and gossip. How long til kickoff?
  23. Can we just play football on top of it? Soon! I'm jonesing bad.
  24. LSU 28 NT 21 That green Kool Aid is tasting pretty good. I think I'll have another glass. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!
  25. Allow me blow this out of proportion. This is the kind of great publicity that will attract people to Fouts. Ask the guys at Ok St. when Barry Sanders was there. The fans knew he was great, and some of the media, but it's Stillwater afterall. People from Tulsa don't even go there. We are nestled in the backyard of DFW, so we have a lot more people to draw from. If we win a few OOC games, we may be looking at good crowds. Bigger crowds = more money, more money = new facilities. Plumm take it from here...
