  1. I've been to a couple of games at Kyle field, and the stadium is great. The only problem is getting in the darn thing. I think it has 4 entrances and it takes about an hour to push through the throngs of people. Once inside, it is a class building and the aggies put on a great game day atmosphere (cult or no, it's cool to watch.) The last time I went I sat in the highest deck on the endzone side. The only time I couldn't follow the game closely was when the ball was at the other endzone. As opposeed to Fouts, where I could sit at the 50 and if the ball is at the furthest hashmark I need Superman's vision to follow the game. Quick note about A&M game atmosphere. Almost 10 years ago my brother (die hard orangeblood) went to the a UT/A&M game. Shortly after he sat down a drunken Aggie starts harrasing the everly-lovin' crap out of him for wearing burnt orange. It lasted about 5 minutes before another Aggie (big cornfed farmer type) stood up pointed to the heckler and said, "Hey! That's bad bull!" The guy shut up and stayed shut up. My things have changed. A few years ago when a bunch of us went, we sat in that upper deck in the endzone and it was non stop heckling from those ags, (save for the nice family sitting next to me). They went so far as to yell at my 3 year old nephew at half time, "If you want to be a musician watch the Aggie band closely, b/c it's the best there is." I'd had enough at that point and said, "He only has to watch it once b/c the routine never changes." Before I get attacked for hating on the mighty Texas Aggie band, let me say I think they do some cool stuff (i.e. Sawing off Bessie's horns, no flag corps, etc.) but I've been watching them march for 35 years now and the routine han't changed. It's crisp and it's clean, but you only need to watch it once. OK I've ranted. Now where is my trumpet... GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!! BUILD THE NEW STADIUM!!!!!!!!!!!

This year my resolution is to be more ecofriendly. I recycle, but could do more. Also since I will be a new dad in about 6 months my resolution is to be a good role model. 20. I rarely listen to Craig way's show, but today tuned in while driving around buying Christmas presents. Craig and Mack Brown both had the same take. Mack considers DD a friend. Mack's comment went something like this, "When an AD comes in sometimes he wants to hire his own coach, and that's what happened here. I hate to see Darrell go, but Todd is a great coach and will do great things at NT." They went on to be quite complimentary of Dodge. Of course I had to call in and ask Craig about the "black uni fiasco". He would not comment. He just reverted to how much DD did while he was there, and Dodge would make it even better. Then I got cut off before I could remind him of DD's blunders (the MFer's comment, constantly bashing the university, etc.) I have a lot of respect for Craig, but feel he is just out of touch with his alma mater. Craig and Dunham are good friends and I think that's where he gets his info. I get the distinct impression that they don't care for RV. It's just an observation. I could be wrong. All that aside, I havent been this excited about NT football since we "beat" UT in '88. I know there are a lot of people on this board who despise UT. There are many, like me, who follow them closely. Either way I assume you would like to renew the series. If you think Mack's affiliation with DD will hurt that, think again. Dodge's father in law is DeLoss Dodds, UT's AD. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Then it's settled. Our new official color is kelly green. Untill two years from now when we change it again. FIND A COLOR AND STAY WITH IT! FIND A LOGO AND STAY WITH IT! TRADITIONS ARE SUPPOSED TO LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Plumm, Can we agree on one damn color of green? GO FOREST GREEN!
  23. A couple of comments. If you are indeed green to the bone, I'd go see a doctor. That thing might be infected. I agree whole heartedly about the walk to the stadium. If the fans are going to put forth the effort to support the team this way, the least our team can do is act appreciative of the gesture. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Here in Austin the Fox affiliate ran a soundbite from the Dodge presser and did a quick story at 9. Nothing at 5. The NBC station ran something at 6 and used an old logo in their graphics. I sent an email to the station and quickly got a reply that they wouild fix the problem. I did not watch any news at 10. I did not watch abc or cbs, but there is nothing on their website. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. We're finally on the same team!!!!!!!!! Here's my Todd Dodge story. After his junior year in high school, his parents moved to my home town. I was just in 7th grade, but already a big fan of Longview Lobo football. Todd had been named by a few publications as the top qb prospect in the state. The Longview coach promptly told him, "Son, I already have a quarterback." He did not move with his parents and stayed at his old high school, I think it was Port Arthur. Interestingly enough his mom became my math teacher. I am very excited to be on the same team as Todd Dodge. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
