  2. I'll vote for Roy Orbison over them all. I was on campus when he passed. Sad day indeed. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!
  3. JJ was on Craig Ways' radio show in Austin this afternoon about 2:30. Craig is the voice of the Longhorns and a North Texas grad. He's very good friends with Dunham. I believe JJ said they were on their way back from Louisiana, and were about 40 minutes from home. It was a simple interview. A lot of love passed around. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!! In my best Vitale voice, "Oh yea!!!!!!! Cinderella's wearing a mean green slipper, baby."
  4. I'm very proud of our team and also of the fans like Rick who are making a whirlwind tour to the game. I seriously considered it for about 5 hours today, and even had the reluctant OK from my pregnant wife, but I just can't pull the trigger. Good luck to the team and fans hauling ass down there. Rick, I'm looking for that FFhelmet... GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!
  5. Are you sure this is hi def? I have my doubts. I hope I'm wrong. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. "Cinderella's slipper was green!" That is just the first thing that came to mind. If I come up with something actually clever, I'll post it.
  7. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Mytery Chalupa..... Aaarrrrrggghhhhhh..... GO MEAN GREEN MYSTERY CHALUPA!!!
  8. JQ isn't there. I believe he's nursing an injury, plus I don't think he was invited. I'm not sure about Lineberry. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Really? I thought it was a legitimate question and backed up with some history of Dodge's coaching. I don't think you will see Vizza out there, but you might see Wilson or Tune. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I'm a little confused. Can you explain this in more detail. Does this mean there is no funding in our general budget for athletics? That seems incorrect. But judging on the history of support our admin gave the Athl. Dept. it's not surprising. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Assuming this quote is accurate, I hope "academics" means a few English classes. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I thought about walking around UT's campus today with a LOT of NT gear, but got roped into buying baby furniture instead. Stupid responsibility! GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I believe 1A schools are allowed to have 1 victory against 1AA schools per year and have it count towards bowl eligability. Any victories against 1AA opponents after that, would not count. I'm going on memory, so it may be completely wrong. As for a prediction, I think we will go to the NOBowl. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Dennis Johnson, former NBA all star, collapsed today in Austin TX after practice with the Austin Toros. Attempts to revive him failed. It appears he died of a heart attack. He was the head coach of the Toros, an NBA development team. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!
  15. FUNNY STUFF!!!!!!!! GO MEAN GREEN !
  16. More to this story... The story goes that Dodge came to Longview and checked out the football program. Longview has a good history of making the playoffs and doing pretty well (only one state title, though, and it was in the 20's I beleive.) Longview's coach talked to him and said, "Son, I already have a quarterback." I lived in Longview then. I was just a kid, but loved Longview Lobo football. (still do). I'll never understand that coaching move. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. They are not correct. His name should be spelled "Erric" not "Eric". On the link I provided, scroll down to the year 1999 and click on it. You get 2000's inducties. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Man, and I checked and checked. I'm such an idiot! GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!! I'm going to edit. Thanks.
  19. On our official UNT web site Erric Pegram's name is misspelled in the Hall of Fame section. He spells it with two r's in Erric. If you try to click on the year he was inducted (1999) all you get is the year 2000. I've sent a letter to the web site admin, but I have gotten no response. Maybe I'm just nit picking, but he was a starting RB in the Super Bowl, we should know how to spell his name! And it's been that way for a long time. Here's your link... "And I've got too much time on my hands..." - Styx. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. meangreensports.com DENTON (2/17/07) – Calvin Watson became North Texas’ all-time 3-point king on Saturday, lifting the Mean Green basketball team to a 74-69 win over UALR at The Super Pit. The senior nailed his 190th career 3-pointer, passing Chris Davis for North Texas’ all-time lead. Watson now has 72 from downtown this year, which ranks third on the single season list. “Calvin has been a great player since he has been here and I am proud that he could get that record,” said Johnny Jones. “He is one of the best shooters to ever wear a North Texas uniform.” While Watson’s three’s were the icing on the cake, the battle in the paint won the game for the Mean Green (18-9, 9-7). Forward Quincy Williams and center Keith Wooden took turns sparring with UALR (12-15, 7-9) center Rashad Jones-Jennings in a slugfest in the low block. The Trojan forward, who leads the nation in rebounding, racked up 22 points and 15 rebounds for his 28th career double-double. However, Williams and Wooden were up to the task, as Williams recorded his sixth career double-double by halftime. The junior ranks sixth in school history with 57 career blocks, and finished the night with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Wooden nearly put up his second double-double of the season with a 15 point, nine rebound night. Also a junior, Wooden ranks fourth in the Sun Belt Conference in field goal percentage. The Mean Green trailed 39-34 at the half, but clawed its way back into the game only minutes into the second frame on the back of Watson three-pointers and gritty play from guard Michael Sturns. Sturns, the Sun Belt’s top bench scorer, gave the Mean Green an 18-7 edge in bench scoring with his nine points against the Trojans. Mean Green point guard Ben Bell rounded out the evening with his seventh double digit scoring game, and his second in a row. The junior had 10 points to go with a trio of assists. North Texas returns to action at The Super Pit on Thursday against Arkansas State. Tip off is schedule for 7:00 p.m. following the NT women’s game at 5:00 p.m., and can be heard on the Mean Green Radio Network.

  22. University of Texas does this. From UTexas.edu My dad and a few of my friends were in the Longhorn marching band. None of them participate.
  23. With the title of this thread called, "What's the deal?" I thought it was going to be a Seinfeld joke. What's the deal with airplane food? I mean really. Could it get any worse? GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!
  24. GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!
