  1. Better yet, can someone post it on YouTube? I'm an out of towner and had absolutely no access to it. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Beating Oklahoma! I think Coach Dodge will have the team prepared to block out the mental aspects of playing at OU. Then it's all about execution. He seems like a patient person when teaching his system. I'm sure he understands the daunting task of playing the Sooners, but as a former Longhorn, nothing would give him more pleasure as a coach than to go into Norman and sneak out a victory. He'll just want his team to play hard, smart, and fair. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I know it's not college related, but "Chief Wahoo" is offensive to me. Also "Washington Redskins" is a racial slur. Those are the only two instances I can think of where the Native American community has a legit argument. Being part Polish, I'd like to nominate to the ASU committee that they be called the "Fightin' Polocks!". But if they did that, (insert joke here). GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!
  4. Thanks. I'm a first time father by 11 days. Here's how my first father's day went. Midnight. Baby girl won't sleep, she has the hickups. 1 a.m. Hickups subside, but now she's pissed. She's not hungry, just mad. The only thing to calm her down is laying on top of Dad's chest. 3 a.m. Baby girl is now hungry, and Mom is up to help, good news. A yelp from the other room signifies the Daschund is in peril. Sure enough I run to the bedroom and there are drops of blood all over the bed. Evidently she had hurt her claw earlier in the day and then snagged it on the sheets when we got up. I bandage her paw, change the sheets, burp the baby, and change a diaper. 4 am. Sleep at last! 7 a.m. The Bassett Hound let's me know he's hungry. He's always hungry. But now baby girl is hungry again too. 8 a.m. I ask the wife what she wants for breakfast. Her reply, "It's father's day. Cook whatever you want." Something is fundamentally wrong with that answer. The rest of the day...napping, Rangers victory, US Open golf, the occasional beer, reading my new DC Texas football mag, and leftovers for lunch. I bought my new baby a couple of NT onesies off the 'net this afternoon. I wouldn't have it any other way! GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Oh my! College kids smoke pot? Not just that, but college kids with the weight of a major univerity's athletic program on their shoulders' relieved some stress by smoking marijuana? Say it ain't so! Marijuana is a drug that is non addictive, grows naturally all over this planet, serves a thousand different funtions, and does NOTHING to improve athletic ability. If these kids had been busted with coke or meth, or any other hard drug, I might let this bashing go. But come on, weed? Maybe that's Mack's problem. They were busted with weed and not steroids. If your juiced, then your just trying to be a better player. But if your stoned, your just a slacker, right? I've got news for you. EVERY D1 program, deals with this. EVERY PROGRAM. Don't throw stones in our glass house. Sorry for the thread hijack. Countdown to thread lock in 3....2.....1...... GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Does Dodge's system allow for a little flexibility here? With DD's run first ask questions later approach we needed big beef up front, but Dodge's approach seems to spread the line out a lot. I wonder if there are qualities he looks for in O-Linemen (speed) that might be overlooked elsewhere. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!! BEAT THE HELL OUT OF OU !!!!!!!!!!
  7. I resemble that remark!
  8. Having our first new born in the house has it's liabilities. Not being able to proofread a post is one of them. Being in the news broadcast business I would actually love a facility like that. Hell, it'd be my dream job to work there. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I almost took this post seriously for a minute. Then the sarcasm part of brain woke up. Seriously, it's great to see NT listed with top tier programs. We've got to get a news stadium. It'll help recruiting sooooooooooooo much. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!! BEAT THE HELL OUT OF OU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Here's the newest addition to the Mean Green family. Just don't tell her mom or her mom's family. They are all Longhorns!
  11. I'm sitting in a labor and delivery room at a hospital in Austin. My wife is in labor with our first child. Luckily she got an epideral (sp) and is sleeping comfortably. Thanks to modern technology I can use my laptop to check my favorite web site (GOMEANGREEN), chat with friends and family, and even telconference with my sisters in Colorado and Virginia. I was even able to give a virtual tour of the hospital thanks to the web cam attaced to our ibook. The next member of the Mean Green family should be here tonight. I'm sure I'll post a pic or two of Daddy's little girl later. Thanks for indulging me. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Free love. It beats paying for it.
  13. That may be true. But that one man is incredible! I really think he makes a statement in game one and Cleveland squeaks out a win. If that happens, anything goes. I really think we're now seeing a the SUPERSTAR on a big stage. Thread hijack ahead. My wife and her family are GIANT Spurs fans. I'm a Mavs fan, so imagine my hell oh these last few weeks. Add this to the equation. My wife is very pregnant with our first child and due to pop around game one of the playoffs. I'll be saying, "Push!", she'll be saying, "Rebound!" GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!!!!!
  14. Although I barely remember it b/c I was just a tot, I got to see the "Tyler Rose" Earl Campbell run all over my Longview Lobos. I was just in grade school at the time, but remember thinking, "Why is that MAN out there playing high school football?" I also saw Cedric Bensen play in a state championship game in DKR Memorial Stadium. I think it was against Austin Westlake. Aside from Cedric bowling over people I remember the offensive line meeting seperately from the rest of the team during the pre game ritual. As great as Cedric was in high school, he still owed a lot to his o-line. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I think we saw the emergence of the next Jordan in game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The real question is: Can he do it game in and game out? LeBron's team helps him out defensively, but does he have enough of a supporting cast to defeat the Spurs? I say yes. I can't believe more teams haven't figured out how to defend Duncan. Utah started to figure it out, then quit. Double him immediately. Don't let him make his move to the basket. Once he makes his move, your toast, but he takes forever to make a decision. If you pressure him, he'll dish it out, or lose control of the ball. The SA guards are very good and they CAN beat you, but Duncan is a superstar and he WILL beat you if you let him. Here's my prediction. Cleveland takes game one close. SA rolls in game two. Game three, Bowen takes a cheap shot at LeBron, get's tossed and suspended for a game (he should be kicked out of the league). SA goes on to win game three, but Cleveland takes the next two at home and finishes them off in game 6 at SA. Then again, I thought this was Phoenix's year. And I'm a Mav's fan. Too bad Avery got OUTCOACHED against Don Nelson, or we would have had a real Western Conference Finals. It didn't help that Dirk folded in the last game. Remember when the Spurs were the class of the NBA? Those days are long gone! GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!! ANYONE BUT THE "THUGS", I MEAN "SPURS".
  16. THIS is a dirty foul. Hell, it's not even a foul. It's just DIRTY !!!!!!!!!!
  17. I bet he was purposely vague. I'm sure there are certain benchmarks (funding, contracters, etc.) he needs to meet before he can officially announce anything. I'm sure he's using whatever leverage he can to stir up excitement (cash flow) to get the project underway. This is still very good news. Also, I continue to be impressed by the way our coaching staff conducts themselves in a positive manner and the way they demand the same from their players. It's quite refreshing. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!
  18. Remember when the Spurs were the class of the NBA? Those days are LONG gone! Now Pop sends Horry, "Dirty Bowen" or some other garbage bench player in to intentionally injur a star player on the opposing team. Oh, sorry Spurs fans, Pop wouldn't do that. He tells P.J. Carlisimo to tell Bowen to take cheap shots. If Cleveland gets into the finals, which garbage player for the Spurs will try and take out LeBron James? Odds on favorite is Bowen. but I think Pop will go a different route and have Oberto succer punch Daniel Gibson, which will cause James to get in a fight and get tossed and suspended for another game, thereby insuring a Spurs championship. The Spurs should change their name to Thugs. I have a wonderful graphic of the Spurs logo changed to "Thugs". I'll figure out how to post it later. Anyone want to take a shot a rephotoshopping that logo: Here it is To make this post NT related, one of the things I really like about coach Dodge is the importance of carrying yourself with pride and dignity. Play hard, but fair. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!! GO ANYONE BUT SAN ANTONIO !!!!!!!!!
