Saturday night I was listening to some Dallas sports radio. The host, I don't remember his name, announced the score of his alma mater, "Mean Green". Then posed this question. Has a football program ever given up more average points per game than its basketball program in that year? If I did my math right (fat chance of that) our basketball program gave up an average of just over 70 ppg. Our football program has given up an average of just over 59 ppg thus far. I really suck at math so these numbers may not be accurate. With weaker opponents ahead on our football schedule I suspect our defense will be a little more stingy and that scenario will not play out. But I wonder if it's ever happened. If your bball program plays good defense, and your football program's defense blows, it is not that hard to imagine. Just thinking out loud... GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!

I liked the article too. I expected Dodge's offense to learn and grow, but I believed the defense was already there. Is the issue a change from 3-4 to 4-3? I don't know if we have the beef up front to play that yet. It's a better style of play imo, but you need the players to run it. Man, I miss DeLoach. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!

Meager saw the same thing I did. We got set and snapped the ball before their defense was ready. It seemed like he tried to muscle it rather then drop it in. He did that a few times. He also made some great passes.

No beer in the stadium will and should not happen. I don't mind it being readily available outside the stadium with a way to reenter at halftime, for those who want a beer, and don't jive on halftime shows. But no beer inside the stadium. The stadium was about half full. We made up about 1/3 of the crowd. I sat in the endzone. Did you noticed all but one touchdown was in the open end? That was against the wind. Nice post. Meager gets props from me as well. I took my brother, a loyal 'horn, and his 14 year old son, both decked in Mean Green gear I provided. As we left I started to complain about an underthrow late in the game. My brother said, "Dude he was probably exhausted. He was slinging it all night!". Remember Leach was the OC at Oklahoma before becoming Tech's drinking coach, I mean football coach. In Dodge's coaches show he reminded Dunham that at SLC he ran the ball 51% of the time.
