  1. I bought some of those tools a number of years ago and still use them. I carve some of the store bought patterns every year. I also carve my TV stations logo and for my family carve a longhorn. I have done a few North Texas logos in the past, but just couldn't get into this year. Your pumpkin is better than mine. Good work.
  2. I'd hate to be a board moderator right now. Scandal, politics, dick jokes. Hey can I comlain about my first amendment rights on your message board?
  3. Once again Lonnie, I concur. I hope we don't drug test anyone wanting to WATCH a game at Fouts b/c the only way to watch this team is stoned out of your mind.
  4. I hate Leach and Tech. My favorite Leach joke (something I read on this board) is "Tech's drinking coach has a football problem." I'm rooting for Texas, but I wouldn't bet on this game with Warren Buffet's money.
  5. Is that what that vinegary smell is?
  6. Who's George DeLoach? Did our play by play guy and our defensive coordinator have mutant hybrid love child? If so, can he pass rush? GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!
  7. MLB - I am a die hard Texas Rangers fan. I died hard many times. I grew up an Astros fan and changed my allegiance in '86 when I was a board op for an AM station in Gladewater, TX that carried the Rangers. Also about that time I became a Mets fan. Long live Bill Buckner. I had a bet of massive proportions on that series. Football - I am a Cowboys fan. I've been a fan since I can remember. I gave up my allegiance the 3 years of Barry Switzer. Basketball - Once again, I grew up a fan of the Houston team, but became a Mavs fan when I moved to Denton. Mostly, though, I hate the Spurs. Hockey - I live in Texas. College football - I grew up a Texas Longhorn fan. I'm from a UT family. I married into a UT family. I didn't know a damn thing about NT football when I moved to Denton, but knew no matter what, this is my team and I'm going to love them come hell or high water. I love UNT. That was solidified one day in the 80's when UT robbed my Mean Green of a victory. I was raising hell in the UT student section. It's still the most talked about sporting event between me and my brother. I also like Penn State. It's wierd, but I think JoPa is the best coach ever in college football. Mostly I have a lot of hate for Tech, SMU, and U. Houston, Oklahoma and TAMU. Generally I root for non-BCS vs BCS. There are exceptions. Other college sports - I root for the underdog mostly.
  8. I believe this is true. I heard it on talk radio so it must be. There are only two MLB teams to have never won a playoff series. The Texas Rangers and the Washington Nationals. "I am depressed." - Slim Pickens, from Blazing Saddles.
  9. Yeah. I'll send you a friend request.
  10. Yeah. Me too. Is she still dating Jimmy Kimmel?
  11. I'm a Rangers fan. They did pretty much what I wanted them to. Finish about .500 and develop some talent. I just want them to find some pitching. I'm also a Mets fan. I have nothing to cheer about. I don't care who wins so long as Boston loses. At least the Yankees didn't make the playoffs. I guess I'll root for L.A. since they have Torre and ManRay (just to spite NY and Boston).
  12. It would be sexy fun time.
  13. Let me start this post by saying, Vote. Please vote. Vote for Daffy Duck. Vote for Quoner. But, please vote for somebody. That said, let me add McCain/Palin will win Texas. So if you live in Texas please look at other (nontraditional) parties. If McCain or Obama speaks for you, by all means cast your ballot for them. But if you are on the fence, now is a good time to look at other parties. They won't win, but if they get enough of the popular vote they can get matching funds to compete in the next election. To the right we have Libertarians. To the left we have the Greens. Out in left field we have Nader/Gonzales. You might even look at swapping your vote with people in battle ground states. It worked SO well for Gore in 2000. This post is not intended to sway you from your political affiliation. But if you are fed up with the way the system is run, do something about it. Okay, don't vote for Quoner. I have it on good authority there are pictures of him in a compromising position. I didn't even know he was that limber.
  14. Patrick was the leading receiver. He did not carry the ball. He also had a tackle on special teams.
  15. What are you, a f***ing park ranger now?
  16. Anyone going to chat tonight? Here's the link I should be on line. I'm working, but have the 'net.
  17. Completely agree except for Mellencamp. What is up with Leonard Cohen? It's not even pop much less rock. James Taylor is great to see in concert. I saw him when I was a student at NT back in the early 90's. Then again in '97. Great shows!
  18. I buy a lot of stuff from their website. I like that it's independently owned. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!
  19. Yeah, I know. My in-laws are in a panic but I'm trying to reassure them, and think the about long term. Basic rule of investing is buy low and sell high, right?. If I had some extra cash right now, I'd buy. I'm actually more upset about SRV getting snubbed by the R&R Hall of Fame. But that's another topic. Really. I started another thread about this.
  20. Nominees for the 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are: Jeff Beck Chic Wanda Jackson Little Anthony and the Imperials Metallica Run-D.M.C. the Stooges War Bobby Womack I don't have a problem with any of these, but this is the first year Stevie Ray Vaughan could be nominated, and was not even put on the f'ing ballot! Prog Rock giants "Rush" and "Yes" continue to get the shaft. Prompting Stephen Colbert to ask the band Rush "You guys are not in the ROCK and ROLL Hall Of Fame. Is the title of your next album going to be called , THIS IS BULL S***?" Oh Yeah, I believe Madonna made it in on her first time around. Coincidentally, everyone who tried made it into Madonna their first time around. Today I am sad.
  21. Monday 9/22. The Dow fell almost 400 points today. My 401k is in the toilet!
  22. A close friend of mine was on the O-line for a prestigious HS in Texas. During one particular game a defensive lineman kept hitting his QB late. Not really late enough to get flagged every time, but enough for many members of the O-Line to tell him, "You better quit hitting our QB late." One more time was all it took. One guy stood him up, and the other one rolled his knee. I'm not saying I condone it, but I would heed a warning form a 300 lb pissed off lineman. They are a tight nit bunch. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!
