I Have A Theory
EagleD replied to Quoner's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I have a theory too. E=mc2 It's just a theory, though. I'm working out the final details before I publish. It's gonna revolutionize physics. Wait, what? -
Governer's Race
EagleD replied to EagleD's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Not that I'm aware of. I'm just citing him as an example of a conservative I don't agree with, but respect his thinking process. -
According to wikipedia there are quite a few candidates and some yet to come. Odds are it comes down to Kay Bailey and Rick Perry in the republican race. I don't think any Dem has enough star power to win and if Kinky runs as an independent, he'll just split the left vote. Personally, I'd like Chris Bell to run again, but he won't. Next to that, it's Ronnie Earl on the left. In the primary I'm likely to vote for Kay Bailey. I don't agree with her on many issues, but much like Ron Paul, I respect the decision making. Rick Perry on the other hand...pppfffft. Anybody interested?

Here We Go Again . . .
EagleD replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I wish his original story were true, that he was hiking nude on the Appalaichan(sp) trail. At least that has some element of danger. Seriously, left or right, if these guys can govern what do we care about their private lives? I guess the difference would be serving your wife divorce papers on her death bed, then it's an issue. -

Spurs Trade For Jefferson
EagleD replied to GreenBat's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Bruce Bowen, the dirtiest player in the NBA, is no longer a Spur. darn. I really liked rooting against him. I hate the Spurs. but respect Manu, Duncan and Parker too much to talk any sh*t about them. -
Reagan's failed Foriegn Policy I've had enough of Reagan's Foreign Policy. He tripled the debt by escalating the cold war. He trained and armed Osama bin Laden (That didn't come back to bite us, did it?). And he left office amid the Iran-Contra scandal. All this while raising taxes 7 of his 8 years. That's not conservative. It's Republican. There IS difference.

Not Ready For Prime Time
EagleD replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I forget which radio sports-talk host said, "After the match the Brazilian team said they are ready for their next match b/c they didn't even break a sweat against the Americans." I'm not a big soccer guy, but I bought a Ronaldino Barcelona soccer jersey when I was there 3 years ago. Whenever I wear it (pretty rarely) I always get a comment or two from random soccer fans on the street. I get comments from my NT jersey, but people think I'm a Philadelphia Eagles fan and want to kick my ass. A month ago when Barcelona won the championship of whatever league they are in, I wore my jersey the next day and was asked by no less then a dozen people if I watched the game. I DID watch half. So to put that in Dodge terms we'd lose like 7-0 against Troy? -
I agree with you. It's the journalists job to question things. To be the bulldog. Without slander, without namecalling ask legitimate questions about policy. Russert was the closest thing we had to that, and now he's gone. Greggory has shown signs of it, but all too often he takes what is served up to him. Not to beat up on the Bush administration too much, but on the build up to the Iraq war we could have used more legitimate investigation. I agree that the press (save for FOX News) is giving Obama a lot cushion. They gave it to Bush after 9/11. It isn't fair in either case.

So out of the kindness of your heart you gave her a ride. Do you run the names of everyone that gets in your car? -
Just Saw Michelle Obama

I'd like "W." to visit there once. Maybe then he could count to ten, learn the alphabet, learn how to pronounce words like "nuclear". -
9th Circuit Judge:
EagleD replied to eulesseagle's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Newt Gingrich called this worse than anything Carter ever did. But wait, it started under ...wait for it...George W. Bush! From Olbermann: -
Actually, Scumbaugh blamed one of his producers for the joke saying the picture was supposed to be of Hillary. That is not an apology. It's an excuse, and lame at that. I don't believe the explanation for a minute anyway. The show was taped, then fed out. If a producer screwed up, there was plenty of time to edit it out of the show, but Rush made the executive decision to keep it in. Truly a classless thing to do. But again, I ask Rick. Were you equally outraged by Scumbaugh's actions?
