As in most good questions, the answer is, "it depends". As a general rule, yeah I'd like my son or daughter to go to NT. But if either of my kids could go to Stanford, MIT, Cal, or a few other choices, I would drive them to class. My nephew and godson just made state in wrestling. He's been a football player forever. Sparkplug of a body this kid had. He could have started center as a sophomore for his Arlington 5A HS, but told his Dad he was tired of carrying all that weight. The new coach sought him out and damn near begged him to rethink his decision. He stuck with wrestling, actually dropped a ton of weight, looks healthy, feels great, and is excelling in his new sport. Secretly, I wanted to see him snapping the ball and protecting our first Heisman candidate in Denton, but after seeing how he's flourished I couldnt be happier Unfortunately if he wants a wrestling scholarship he's gonna have to go out of state. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know...he's a quitter. And I couldn't be prouder!!!!!!!

Driving through SA today I saw a random billboard for the UNT business school.

We have Uverse. Initially we were disappointed. Customer service SUCKS! After some time our issues were resolved and we are pretty happy. Both PC and Mac work great, but we use an Airport station even though the system has wifi. The big feature is playing back any vid from any tv. The big negative is every tv HAS to have a box. No splitting off to run a line elsewhere (like the garage or outside to watch a game so you can grill while the kids watch SpongeBob).

It's a bunch of tubes.

Curious b/c I don't know, what were the strings attached to the fed money? No child left behind was a GIANT federal mandate. I honestly believe Perry's actions were politically motivated and not in the states best interest. If GWB had offered the same deal Perry would have taken it. Bigger districts and classrooms are just the opposite of what we need. Ask any educator and they'll tell you smaller teacher to student ratio is critical to student achievement.
