Down 4-0 to Miss. State in the second. Anderson started and was replaced by Smith. Looking like we're gonna get run-ruled today..... Go Mean Green!

We finished undefeated at The Buzz Classic....at Georgia Tech....to open the 2023 season.

We beat Troy 7-3 in Game 2 of today. Now 3-1 on the year. A win for Skylar. Kailyn Bearpaw has 6 Rbis in four games. We play CMU again tomorrow....Go Mean Green!!!!

Early on..........but Ms. Bearpaw is looking like our best hitter. Thus far anyway. And our other TU transfer, Anneca Anderson....has all three decisions. 2-1....on the season. Nice to see Skylar mop things up...and get the save....

Hindsight is 20-20.....but it's a shame that Kayleigh Smith wasn't the first one out of the 'pen.....as she got through her inning.....unscathed. The two freshmen pitchers, Maloney and Buffington....are both highly touted. Maybe....first game jitters? Anyway.....two more games tomorrow. Go Mean Green!

Good grief. A seven run 7th (so far) for TSU and we're down 10-5. He's brought in two FR. pitchers....who haven't gotten an out yet. Still no outs....down by 5.

5-5 in the top of the 7th.......TSU has runner on second....no one out. Two games in a row....where pitchers have had two run leads going in to the 7th....and not been able to hold them. Go Mean Green!

Once again Maddie Conley and Rylie Nicholson help us get on the board. (as in game 1....when Maddie walked and Rylie doubled her home). This game....Maddie doubled, Rylie singled her home. Then Elizabeth Moffit....doubled her home. Moffit on 3rd....one out......2-2 game........bottom of the 2nd.

Down 2-0 to Tennessee State.......middle of the second. We're the home team....so we have six more innings to come back. Mackenzie Childers pitching....

And the WP was also a transfer from Tulsa. Anneka Anderson who almost no-hit us last year. We got two great players from TU.

Top of 2nd....against CMU....Mean Green up 2-0. Rylie Nicholson doubled in a run. Then later, she stole 3rd......catchers throw was wild....and she scored on the overthrow. Tatum Sparks is catching. Rylie McNemar at 3rd. Freshman Ausha Moore is at shortstop....with Cierra Simon moved to 2nd. 1st base is Kailyn Bearpaw (transfer from Tulsa). Outfield of Taylor Platt (LF), Rylie Nicholson (CF) and Maddie Conley (RF). Skylar Savage pitching.

Oddly enough (this surprised me).....we had a slightly bigger crowd at the Pit.....when we lost to UTSA last season.

I understand that Coach likes a tight 8 man rotation. But when you have that first half scoring lull....and you don't throw anybody different into the mix....especially Tyrann Mason.....that I don't get.

It's just a rhythmic chant..."Welcome To The Pit!"....that as you're yelling it....you're pumping your fist in the air, to go along with the words. Used to be done in the 70s and 80s. You do it once the game is in hand...

Big kudos to the guys who started the long dormant "Welcome To The Pit!" chant, once the game was in hand. Hopefully next game....a few more of us can get our sections going, too.
