  1. Happy Birthday, Krammy!
  2. 94 Feet of Defeat.
  3. I had never ever heard of this story. Pretty interesting (from the Saturday DMN): http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/stories/111310dnsposherrington.365be90.html
  4. Yes....the 2001 game....when Dickey didn't start Scott Hall, and instead started Richard Bridges. (as Scott was being punished). (this was meant as a reply to greenjoe's question)
  5. UNT 34 MTSU 3
  6. BTW....I would have voted for option 2. But all the Canales-connected posters who have been on here constantly doing his bidding.....drove me to vote for the last option. But I fully expect he will get the job.
  7. Great story, Brett: http://www.dentonrc.com/sharedcontent/dws/drc/sports/stories/DRC_untrecruiting_1110.2155f8bfa.html (I know they haven't signed yet....but this is based on the premise that they will)
  8. As a reminder, here's our current commitment list: http://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/commitments/2011/NorthTexas-182
  9. Early signing period: November 10-17
  10. Look at who all offered him, out of high school: http://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/player-Shawn-Williams-42398 Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, UCLA, Baylor
  11. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=5780502 I believe that Cooley has speculated that this once highly touted player.....could land at NT.
  12. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Nino-Johnson-102055
  13. (from Mean Green sports on Facebook): ESPN's Fran Fraschilla just stopped by hoops practice to see his old friend Johnny Jones, and let the fellas know he's keeping his eye on the Mean Green!
  14. I think in their case.....TTech would have been better off if they had kept their interim, Ruffin McNeil (who has East Carolina at 5-3 as their head coach). Instead they went national and brought in Tuberville. But I do think there are major differences....TTech had an interim replacing a very successful coach. In their case.....they maybe should have tried to keep the same system going (just with a new head coach). Anyway, just making a few points. But as we all know....we're all just guessing. Canales could be the greatest head coach in our history....and some of the name guys might fail miserably.
  15. In 2008, Clemson made Dabo Swinney their interim head coach. They started out the year 3-2...under him they went 4-4. In his first full year (last year), they went 9-5. This year, his second full year, they're 4-4 (with two of the four wins being UNT and Presbyterian). They close out the year with NC State, Florida State, Wake Forest and South Carolina. I just wonder how Clemson fans feel? Are they happy that they stuck with their interim guy, or do they wish they had done a national search? I have no clue how they feel. Just pointing out what has occurred with them...in a similar situation.
  16. Was at the Ticket Office.....the b-ball season tickets are in. They're being mailed out ASAP. Also, the men's basketball schedule posters are in... GMG!
  17. Think this is a great idea. Was at the Ticket Office.....this Friday night, our pep rally will be a movie/pep rally...instead of the usual concert/pep rally. They're showing the 1991 movie, "Necessary Roughness" at Fouts. Not sure how they're doing it....if they'll have a screen set up...or show it on the video board. I'm sure everyone knows this....but if you don't....most of this movie was filmed at UNT and Fouts.
  18. 2 o'clock.
  19. It's no joke....it's our Johnny Quinn. He posted two pictures from the trials.....today on Facebook.
  20. Obviously you don't respect Coach Blakeley or you wouldn't make such a request.

  22. BTW.....I think SI is wrong on one thing. I'm pretty sure that O J Simpson went to a juco before going to USC.
  23. I didn't know this.....but Cam Newton, Jr., the great QB at Auburn.....played for Brad Franchione last season. According to an article on Newton in the lastest SI.....Newton began his career at Florida. After getting into minor trouble there...he transferred to Blinn JC. (quite a ways from his Georgia home). The SI article credits Franchione will helping turn the kid around....and having a lot to do with Newton's maturation. Apparently Franchione and his wife both did a lot to help Newton mature as a person and a player. Newton is considered by many to be the Heisman front runner, right now. According to this article, if he wins it....he'll be the first juco player to ever win The Heisman. Just thought I'd post this...since Little Fran and his Dad have both been mentioned as possible candidates at NT.
  24. You left out South Alabama. So put them in the East. Add ULM to the West, and decide which of these three that we'd want as our 11th and 12th teams---NMSU, UTSA or Texas State--S & M.
  25. Yes.
