Thought the same thing. BTW....that's what I was told...I haven't confirmed it (about dead period going until after the Title game is over). That's a joke, if true. Those two title teams will get millions of "in home" visits this Monday night.....the rest of us should be able to recruit right now.

I don't think anyone is visiting anywhere this weekend. I was told the Recruiting Dead Period goes until the championship game is over. (the reasoning is that the two participating teams wouldn't be able to recruit while everyone else could). So our next visits should start next weekend.

If we can't get Young....David Cobb would be my next favorite RB to sign. Actually I don't prefer one over the other. Also, I agree with you...maybe if Young visits....he might have a change of heart.

I like this kid. I know he's at a lower level (Class 2A)....but I think he'll be a good college QB. Plus, as I recall.....he averaged 46 yards punting. Someone can correct if I'm wrong on that. Welcome aboard Cooper!

When you go to that link (www.newnorthtexascoach.com).....this is what we list as our 2011 schedule: Houston - September 10, 2011 Indiana - September 24, 2011 Four Sun Belt Conference (Not Four Sun Belt Conference Games.....just Four Sun Belt Conference. In marketing....you want to be as clear as possible, right? I realize we all know what that means... will everyone? I don't know. Since we know what the four games are (FAU, ULM, WKU, and MTSU)....why not mention them...even if you don't know the dates yet?)

According to Scout....7 have committed since 12/24 (with 3 in the last two days). ESPN shows them with a similar number of commits. GMG!

Wow....just because I'd like someone other than Shanice Stephens coaching our team....doesn't mean that I want Tina Slinker back. So no I don't miss Slinker. I actually have the ability to think that we can do better than Stephens or Slinker.

Thanks VB. I know that LOIs are faxed. But Osborne was different....he was a juco who was sent a LOI ....in the middle of juco signing period. What we're talking about here....is the high school DT. Would he have been faxed something from us.....this early before Feb. signing date? Anyway, I appreciate you and Street Light Productions....for your contributions to the recruiting board.

I never knew that official offers were faxed to players. I guess I always assumed that an offer was just a verbal one. So whenever we (or any other school) offers a players....we put it in writing? And I'm not doubting you.....just saying that I never knew this.

Hey, I'd love for her to be gone. But do you really think we're buying out two years of a women's b-ball coach's contract? She started out at $150,000 a year...with a guaranteed 5% raise every year. So, at this point...you'd have to buy out something like $360,000 worth of contract. I don't think what she did @ MTSU would violate any morality clause....so unless we have several hundred thousand lying around...I don't see her being bought out. I HOPE that I AM WRONG.

Even though he verbaled to La. Tech.....according to Scout/ESPN....he hasn't signed. BTW....Rivals still shows him as being open (non-committed). Yeah, Auburn interviewed JJ....but they hired the UTEP coach (Tony Barbee).

I'd prefer that we sign two high schoolers over two jucos. I think the QB at Mesquite Horn (Strahm) may be going to visit. Him, Joe Minden (Coppell) and Cooper Jones (Lone Oak) are all three good prospects.
