  1. They have four SBC teams in bowls. That'd be awesome....especially if we are one of the four.
  2. Great call, Harry. OT: I like the fairly new thing, of numerous chicks wearing Mean Green dresses to games. (If you haven't seen it...it's not just the color...the dresses are North Texas specific).
  3. If MWC considered Utah State....I've got to think they'd consider us. And I know all the realignment stuff is mostly football driven....but in b-ball, the MWC has several teams better than anyone in the Belt: San Diego State, UNLV, New Mexico, Nevada. So it would be a major b-ball upgrade, as well.
  4. According to today's D-RC, Pitt and Syracuse won't be allowed to leave The Big East until 2014-2015.
  5. I'll go with a guy not on the list..............James Hamilton. Against Bama he got to show the coaches what he could do. I think because of that, the offensive coaches will try to get him on the field more (not in lieu of Lance--Lance will still get his carries).
  6. Plus....the tickets are higher for this game and the Houston game....because they're "name" teams. Just like the K State game last year. Most schools charge higher prices for their premium games. BTW....they can always go give Jerry Jones $29 to stand in a hallway at Cowboys Stadium.
  7. The FAU game on Oct. 8 is the Green Out Game.
  8. It's really confusing when you have two sport guys like this. Rivals really doesn't differentiate. They have him listed as a b-ball prospect with offers from us and Baylor....but methinks his offers are in football. Admins....feel free to remove this thread from the b-ball recruiting forum.
  9. Well..he's listed a Rivals UNT B-ball prospect (and OFFER)....but it looks like he's a heckuva football prospect, as well. Not sure if we've offered him for football, basketball....or both.
  10. Another one with us and Baylor (right now his two offers): http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Gerren-Ballard-124072
  11. There's also going to be a Wild Beast Feast going on at the stadium. Apparently this is a cooking competition where exotic game are cooked: things like elk, alligator, stuff like that. I've heard that this thing might draw a couple thousand (or has before when held at the Fairgrounds). I hope the folks that come to this....stay for the game: http://www.dentonarts.com/subsite2/wildbeastfeast.html
  12. I've ordered some in the past. Had good luck with a company out of Utah: www.reminderband.com
  13. I listened to George and Hank while watching the broadcast. It was in sync with DirecTV. That's the best when you can hear our radio announcers while watching a TV game. 1) I'm guessing this was the biggest crowd we've ever played before? I don't think we'd ever broken the 100,000 barrier. 2) I think our young O line is jelling. Their pass blocking is pretty good. Thrilled about the future of the O line. 3) Mike Stockjavic (sp?) had a great game. 4) Glad to see Kyle White in the game. I'm pretty sure he started...in place of Cantly. He recovered two fumbles. 5) Walk-on DB Mike Marshall (freshman from South Grand Prairie) has the makings of being a special teams stud. #15.... 6) Two guys who I never saw in the game---Stradford and Richard Abbe. I might have missed it....did either of them play? 7) We need to develop some more WRs. 8) Hank and George mentioned that IU alum Babe Laufenberg will be at the game next Saturday. They wondered if Mark Cuban, another IU alum....might also be there. Go Mean Green!
  14. Hey, I'm not a student so I don't know what the locations/times for pickup were for the first game. But the Ath. Dept. has posted that there are more times/locations for student ticket procurement starting this Monday: http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1800&ATCLID=205272735#.TnNdjFidikQ.facebook
  15. Buddy.....if the VT-ASU game starts at 3....it more than likely will be over by 6:30. (unless there's OT or something). Anyway, they did show like I said a thing on FSSW last night, saying that NT-Bama would be on FSSW Plus at 6:30.
  16. Just saw a thing on Fox Sports Southwest (it was a still graphic; not really a commercial). Anyway it promoted the fact that the UNT-Bama game will be on Fox Sports Southwest Plus (DirecTV 677) Saturday at 6:30. So I think we're gonna be all right.
  17. Have you checked to see if you get channel 646? I did, and I do.
  18. I think Fox Sports Net means that it will be on a lot of the Fox Sports networks (unless those networks are obligated to carry area pro teams). Fox Sports Southwest Plus is Channel 677. (DirecTV channel number) Also, I found some Fox Sports Net listings, and as the previous poster listed....it is on the schedule for Fox Sports South (DirecTV channel 646).
  19. Read that yesterday....Sherrington's point doesn't even make sense. How could he comment on how noisy the crowd was.....and then in the same column, say that most of the crowd didn't get there until the game was out of hand. But, I do think the column was overall...more positive than negative.
  20. I love what our band does....I really do. But "Fly Like An Eagle" sucks as a "get the crowd fired up" kind of song. It's a buzzkill. It was a great rock song....but not a good marching band song. During the March....either play the fight song again (for the folks further down the March route)....or go to the "Hey" song (Gary Glitter's Rock N Roll, Part 2). Just my opinion.
  21. Yeah the heat. They always do that...the first game or two of the season, when it's really hot.
  22. Saw Kedrick in the tailgating area at Apogee yesterday. Man, has he hit the weight room. Said that he weighs 235 now. And that they plan on playing him at the "5" position.
  23. Agree with you about the young guys on the O line....think we have lots of potential with those guys. As to #93.....that was Brandon McCoy (we have two #93s on our roster).
  24. Well it's usually two hours before the kickoff. But it kind of depends on when the buses get there...and sometimes they're a 5-10 minutes early. If you're over in the Hill area by 3:45-3:50...you should be fine. I would imagine they will try to announce it out there....as it gets closer.
  25. Great, great, great. Now my wish is that we would have a great turnout today for The Mean Green March. Coach Mc is quoted in the D-RC as saying how great it would be if fans were going nuts, from the time the team gets off the buses. Please come to The March and show our guys some spirit.
