There's a lot of talent in the Beaumont-Port Arthur area. We have several guys in the NT Hall of Fame that came from down there (QB Kenny Washington, LB Burks Washington). Coach Fry used to recruit the heck out of that area....getting those two....and other great players like DT Reginald Lewis (3rd round pick by Tampa Bay) and LB Terry Champagne. So kudos to our staff for making inroads into another fertile recruiting area.

As of right now, Nick ties Boone Feldt and Andrew Tucker...with the highest Rivals rating of any of our commits. (5.5) With Chaz Sampson, Rod Lancaster, and now Nick.....it's obvious that Coach Mac and company like tall WRs.

Think the first game will now be a sellout....a record crowd? I sure hope so, but after yesterday, I have my doubts. If we had just played decently....lost say 24-14...something like that, I think we would have been fine. I thought we would play well...but not win. The one thing I didn't think would happen...was us getting blown out. Anyway, not giving up on Coach Mac or the team. Will be there on Sept. 10...and it will still be unbelievably special. But just not so sure there will be 30,849 others there with me. GMG!

Steve Sullivan basically tells Denton to get off its' collective duffs and start supporting the program. It's a great Letter to the Editor. I'm pretty sure that Steve played for us....back in the 70s...before I got to Denton. I also think he was a Mean Green Club rep this past year. The letters for 9/1 aren't on the D-RC website yet. Great letter Steve.

Dan Johnston told me last night that he didn't think the concession stands would be open on Thursday. I think since it's still gonna be hot....I'd have a cooler....and if the concession stands aren't open...you've at least got some drinks.

I love it. I was afraid we were going to leave a scholarship unfilled...like we did last year. So I'm thrilled if he is our 13th scholarship player.
