Lose 4-3.

Take the lead in the 8th....on a bases loaded walk. Bottom of the 8th....UAB coming up.....UNT ahead 3-2.

Blown opportunity in the 7th. Runners on first and second, no one out. Cierra Simon can't get a bunt down....on two tries. Then is caught looking on a third strike. Mikayla comes up....and hits a hard ball to the pitcher....who throws to third for one out....and then 3b throws to first for the double play. (That's almost an impossible DP in softball). 2-2 going to the bottom of the 7th.

Finally broke through and scored our first run in the series....in the fifth. Up 1-0. Nice rbi single by Cierra drove in Lexi Cobb. Skylar has pitched four shutout innings. Got out of a bases loaded jam in the 4th. I personally think our team needs to be a lot more aggressive at the plate. We take way too many first pitches. And we get way too many strike outs looking. Just my opinion.

7-0 loss. Started out badly....and never recovered. Rodney started emptying his bench....playing everyone. The good news is.......we lost the first game at USF...then came back to win the series. Hopefully, we do that again. Go Mean Green!!!

Mackenzie Childers has been so good lately. But not today......gives up 2 in the first, and 3 so far in the second....we're down 5-0.....UAB still batting in second. (one out)

I'd guess Steve Sloan....who left us for UCF (I think they were FBS at that time....not sure though).

According to Brett.......this guy is having a great camp. He's a true freshman, who graduated early from HS...and enrolled in December. Hard to know the actual capacity I think. An earlier game this year....they listed attendance as 788 (first TTech game).

I'll let the coaches decide who they want or don't want. (And I doubt Goldin lands here). But....we're Rondel's third school (OSU, TCU, NT) and Buggs' fourth school. (UMass, Hill College, UTSA, NT)

One other reason to love women's softball: Not nearly the roster turnover as in hoops and football.

If you want to feel better about our situation.......follow some of the Portal sites on Twitter (or X). Because this is hitting everybody. All schools. As I recall......there were 200 names in the portal....two days into the process. (when it started a few weeks ago). About the Portal.....it's a gut punch when you lose guys. (like Aaron, Rubin and Jason). But in a week....or two....or three....when we start adding some from the portal (or juco or h.s. recruits)...it's easy to get excited again.

It's so hard to stay interested when this kind of stuff keeps happening.

Next up.......29-6 (and 8th ranked) Okie State comes to town. They run rule a lot of teams. But they did lose to Tulsa 3-0...and we swept Tulsa. So let's see what happens......Go Mean Green! The game is Wednesday night at 6....at The Lace.

Great series win. Today....we went against their staff ace....the one that beat us Thursday. Her ERA is in the low 1s. We only got two hits....but the last one, a two run double by Kailey Gamble....won it in the 8th.....2-0. 8 inning shutout by Mackenzie Childers....who has now lowered her ERA to 2.87. She has been phenomenal the last 3-4 weeks. Our team is now 21-13....and 10-2 in league play.

The graphic with the score on the game....has under North Texas (where our record would be).....it says..."82-73, First In The NL Central." Can't wait til our series with the Cardinals next week.

Nice win in game 2....as our bats came alive....and we won 9-5. Thrilled to see Lexi Cobb get three hits...including two doubles. MackWags started......but was pulled after two....and MackChil finished the game (pitching the last five innings.) Team now 20-13......9-2 in AAC play.

Felt the same way you did.....Rodney seemed to not argue the call. So he must have thought it was correct. My hearing is lousy.....but I believe they said that the USF coach has been there for 25 years, and lead them to the NCAA tourney 15 times? If so....they have a heckuva program.

I think our announcers at our home games are really good. On the road....it's hit and miss. But, this guy tonight is superb. Very knowledgeable of our team and our season. Hate that triple being wiped out......

What a great win.........3-2.....winning run driven in by Saleen. Great pitching from MackWags and Skylar. Some more great defense. Team now 8-1 in league play.
