I hope that we are able to continue our series with SMU. It'd be nice to play them every year. It'll also be nice to start getting some teams into Denton, whose fans will fill up area hotels. Teams like Okie State, and Kansas State come to mind. I think a lot of the Navy fans this year, will be out of towners. (I know we have K State coming here in 2010). I guess I'd just like to see if the businesses here in Denton, would ever recognize the greatness of having college sports in the town. And, if we can start scheduling teams who bring a lot of their own out-of-town fans to our city that might help. Of course, being Denton....you never know.

Going by the ticket office, to get my season tickets TOMORROW.

I think the second year....the team was "Miracles Never Cease"...tying in with his first year theme. And to the young folks....it was written on a cloth item, that draped over the back of Coach Blakely's chair.

Annoyed..yeah. But, I get annoyed a lot. And, one particular burr in my side right now is this: If I can turn on the TV during the day, and see about 40 different judges' shows......how come TV hasn't made room for Judge Joe? I would watch.

After thinking about it.....I figured the aloe part was maybe aloe vera based. And ceutical, from pharmaceutical.......so, you're probably right, MGDork. I wonder, is Don Lovelace, the person that our softball field is named after????? Congrats to Don, btw....on winning the trip. I don't know him, but if I ever need any organic aloeceuticals.....I know where I'm getting them from....

I'm just glad that the winner is the owner of an organic aloeceutical product company. Because, if the winner had been owner of a non-organic aloeceutical product company.......I would have been really pissed.

I did see Sykes suited up the other night. He was in uniform at the SMU game.

Johnny....I'm pretty sure that I saw Owusu-Hemeng in the game some the other night. So, I think he is playing. Chatman was suited up...don't think he got in the game. Not sure about the other two.

Temple used to be in the Big East....but aren't any more. I think they landed in the MAC.

Anyway, his column appeared weekly in newspapers during the football season. Back then, UTEP was horrible, and he used to call the school: The University of Texas at El Intercepted Paso.

Gee.....you go to the official website for what you think would be the most up to the date info.....and you read that there is no show scheduled for Sept. 10. Heck, I would have been there....if I had only known.

It wasn't cancelled. It was never scheduled for this week....as we have an Open Date. It will resume next Monday, the week of the FAU game.

I went by Fouts today....they have painted some of the press box side. (From what I was told by Jim Hobdy---that color that is on there now is a primer; the final color may be a little different). But, you can tell from what they've already done----that it's going to look 1000% better when they're finished. Plus, the bathrooms are going to be lots nicer. And speaking of Mr. Hobdy---he won't brag on himself, so I will. The reason that our stadium is getting a new paint job, is because he was contacted by a friend at a paint company. That paint company wanted to do a huge project for free---for the publicity. So, Jimmy hooked them up with Athletics....and because of that, we're getting a $68,000 paint job for free. So, when you're at Fouts....and it looks a lot nicer........thank Jimmy for hooking us up with a free paint job.

This may have been posted.....but if you don't know: Casey Fitzgerald's 327 receiving yards last night......is the 4th highest one-game total in NCAA Division I history.

BTW....JD.....Dickey may have said that, but that's not an original thought of his. Darrell Royal is the one who originally said that. As a matter of fact, as far as I can tell, Dickey never had an original thought of his own. For example, I was calling people on this board "F*****S" .....years before he did.

I was really proud of our kids last night. The second game in a row.....where they didn't quit. And, btw....I totally don't get the bashing of Danny and Evyn. Geez. Danny had a RECORD SETTING NIGHT. 601 freaking yards. And guess what people.......when you throw MORE........statistically, you're going to have more picks. Danny averaged 1 pick every 21 passes. Yes, the last two were inopportune, but that young man played great. 601 freaking yards and people still bitch. BTW......if you want to go back to DickeyBall, his vaunted offense at USU put up 280 yds. of offense against Wyoming. 601 freaking yards. And, let me add it is such a pleasure to have an offense that can come back in games. Anyway, proud of our kids.....EVERY ONE OF THEM. And I love a head coach who's quoted as saying, "We aren't near as good as we're gonna be." And to the fans that were there....thanks for showing up. You all made me proud, too. GO MEAN GREEN!
