Japan's Robots For Lonely Men
SUMG replied to SUMG's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
One good thing about these robots: If you're ever hanging out at the Waffle House in Weatherford....you can now sometimes hear the phrase: "Plummer....party of two. Plummer, party of two." -

I know it can sing and dance. I wonder if they programmed it to say the words......"You're so big." Just curious. -

Hell, if you're gonna order one....you might as well get two. That way you could be involved in a Geek "three way." -
Sad...........

To show you how time flies....that "Seinfeld" finale was 10 years ago. Darrell Dickey hadn't even coached a game at UNT...yet. -

I really don't get the lady....who pulled up first....watched it for 7 minutes.....who had three grown men (a 52 year old volunteer fireman, a 20 year old son and his friend....and she claims they couldn't do anything. That if they could have found rocks or something they would have thrown it at him. I guess (as a SF paper commenter at the bottom of the story noted)....wouldn't their car have had a tire iron? Anyway, she says that no one should second guess her. Sorry sis.....you and your group come across as the biggest wimps on the planet. Especially the volunteer fireman. I realize that he's a volunteer and not a pro like our friend FFR....but wouldn't a volunteer fireman at least sort of be prepared to save lives? These folks deserve whatever nightmares they have over this. -

I think KWRD is a great flagship station.... Here's the story from Mean Green Sports...along with a picture of Hank and George chatting with Verne Lundquist: http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...;ATCLID=1480750

I picked up a copy of DCTF at Hastings yesterday. Overall I think the write-up is good. There is one glaring error though. It calls the Rice game our "Game of the Year" (very debatable)....but it says that Rice leads the series with us 1-0. I'm pretty sure we beat them in '88....... I like the ad that we have in there, btw...

Today's DMN notes that SMU and Baylor have agreed to a 6-game football series starting in 2011. Three will be played in Waco; three in Dallas. How come I get the feeling that this will preclude any chance of us getting a long-term series with SMU, as had been rumored? I really don't see the Ponies playing TCU, Baylor and us.....every year for several years in a row. I think Phil Bennett was our best friend down there....he wanted to play us. I think now that he's gone.....the snobs are back to being snobs. Just a guess though.

I'm not sure that would be a great gauge...since you would have been playing Va. Tech....the season after their national tragedy.

(from the DMNews sports blog): TexasHoops.com recently released its pre-summer state player rankings for the classes of 2009 and 2010. Duncanville's potential starting five for the 2008-09 season is high on the lists. Tony....from what I read he's in the 2008 class....and didn't sign last February (4 months ago). Last summer, we signed two late signees, when we signed Evyn Roman (juco) and Jacob Kaiser (high schooler from Penn.).

Should they have been arrested? No. Should there be a little more decorum at graduation ceremonies? Hell yes. I drove by the last time UNT had graduation, and people were taking in signs to salute the grad that they were there to see. It's a freaking graduation...not American Idol. Just my two cents.....

I bought one of these (the big sized) tumblers at Bed, Bath and Beyond in Denton today: http://www.tervis.com/store/retail/product...D=535&CID=5

I agree with you, for the most part. However, there is no way that I'd want us to have the kind of deal that ULM has with Arkansas.

Mr. McKay had many great moments as a sportscaster. None however, topped his brilliance in covering the 1972 Olympics, where he went from sportscaster to newscaster. He was a great one.

I realize that Tulsa may be decreasing their stadium size (to 26,000?)...but that isn't preventing OU from playing there in 2014. It's a part of a three game series, with games in Norman in 2013 and 2015. Texas will go to Wyoming and play in that 32,000 seat stadium, and now OU agrees to this. FWIW.

The $6100 Watermelon

A reporter on Channel 11...said that there was a national softball tournament being held out at the park.....and they had a FIREWORKS show tonight. What kind of morons think a fireworks show is a good idea with 40+ mph winds in the area? Anyway, the early word is that they suspect that the fireworks caused the grass fire.
