  1. Gee, if every 85 year old who falls down has a lawsuit case.... I used to like Ed.....until I read this crap: http://news.yahoo.com/s/eonline/20080718/e...EyzDBb4UgVY24cA
  2. Well maybe Troy Phillips is wrong then. Because...stadium in 2010....or groundbreaking for a stadium in 2010....are two totally different things. Maybe he thought they said "groundbreaking" instead of "grand opening".....
  3. One more thing, Flyeater. I think we're about two years past due for THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. Or maybe I just missed what that was. Maybe all the details were given about the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT at the last quarterly meeting.
  4. Oh really? We've had parents of players come on this very board and tell us that RV told recruits that they would have an indoor practice facility by now. And if I'm not mistaken Riley Dodge was quoted as saying (when he signed) that we would have a new football stadium by 2010. Where do you think he got that from? His Dad, who obviously has been fed a bunch of crap by the Athletic Director. Keep believing in RV. You'll still be in Fouts in 2025.
  5. If you renewed your season tickets early....you got two free tickets. If you were a new season ticket holder or renewed after the early deadline....you had to pay.
  6. Hey if Gray Eagle One, one of our most respected fans and posters.....says that that happened....it did. If we had a $1 for every bullshit hint that has been dropped about a stadium being imminent...we'd have enough money to build the darn thing. And I'm talking about hints coming from people in the athletic department. All the way to the top.
  7. I may be the only one who feels this way, but I would like to make this point. I wish you all would start deleting posts on here, where "know-it-alls" tell us that certain players are going to FLUNK OUT. I've seen people come on here, and name names of certain players, and tell us that they are going to be ineligible. And, it looks like that in many (if not all) cases a lot of these "experts" are wrong. We've seen several kids names dragged through the mud on here---and apparently most of those are going to get their grades....after all. So from now on, could we wait until there is official word that someone isn't going to be on the team (i.e.--Horton, Gilmore).....before we allow people to come on here and trash kids who might be in good shape academically? Just a request.

  9. Note to self: Come up with a French name for your house. It seems to add value.
  10. Anyone seen those T Boone Pickens ads about his plan? Pardon me, but I think he's full of crap. He's invested in a lot of natural gas and windpower...and now all of the sudden, it's dawned on ole T Boone that the only way to solve our problems is with natural gas running all vehicles and windpower supplying all of our electricity. As a matter of fact, in the ad, he trumpets the Democrat talking point of, "we can't drill our way out of this problem." I'm all in favor of natural gas, btw. And wind power. It's just that T Boone's solution seems a little self-serving to me.
  11. I may be wrong, but I think it was between us and KSU for Mr. Horton. Anyway, he's the juco DE that we all are bemoaning the loss of, right now. He didn't get his grades....and won't be joining us this fall. Not sure about Kenny Sessions.
  12. Didn't we beat out y'all (KSU) to get the services of Alonzo Horton? If so, you can have him back.
  13. The announcers might be saying "Shone"....but it sure sounds like Shawn...when I hear it.
  14. If that were the case...they wouldn't have capitalized the word "State." No just another press moron who doesn't check his facts.
  15. Okay buddy...you would know. I stand corrected. I thought they had just come into HUGE money in recent years.
  16. He's been bitter ever since he figured out that his parents didn't know how to spell the name Shawn.
  17. He is. I'm just saying....I'm not sure that he was that rich....in the days before RV (pre 2001). I'm just backing up what Green Nightmare said...as I had heard the same story. Whether it's true...I don't know. Just saying I had heard the same thing.
  18. What bothers me about the lack of communication from the Athletic Department is this: We have folks clamoring for information....and yet we never get any. You do realize don't you, that a lot of those 'GUESTS" reading this board on a daily basis.....are Ath. Department employees....don't you? Some of those folks read this board, as much as we do. They could easily use this place as a way to get out information to the masses. But, they don't. I guess that's because most of them refer to this as "the idiot board."
  19. I'll back up Green Nightmare on what he said. I'm not even sure that Goldfield was a multi-millionaire....back before RV. Unless, you're saying it was some other millionaire who offered up the $$ for a baseball program. Anyway, I've heard the same story that GN has.
  20. If the solicitations for money go the way other stuff does (that comes from this Athletic Department) We'll get a solicitation on say.......Sept. 15. And the deadline for the campaign will be..... say....Sept. 16
  21. Buddy, if you can't handle the descriptive term "liberal" ......then that is your freaking problem. Most of us know that most issues can come down to two sides...the conservative one and the liberal one. And most of us aren't 100% liberal or 100% conservative. But, we're usually enough of one of those, to where the overall description applies. I thought you were a professor (at a junior college). Looks like you could handle difference of opinion a little more. PROUD CONSERVATIVE...... sumg
  22. This sucks. I too, am tired of bad news. But I will leave with this encouraging thought: When we beat Tennessee in 1975....we did it with our 3rd string quarterback. (Glen "Joe Willie" Ray).
  23. "Gilmore was among the Mean Green's most productive defensive players late last season and was starting to look like a potential star. Just how good was Gilmore? I have no way of telling if the e-mail was valid, but one person asked me if I had contact info for Gilmore to see if he would be interested in playing in Canada next season now that he is out of options on the college level." My question: Gilmore can't come back?????? He's not out of eligibility.

  25. Congress lifting the ban is only part of the problem. Then, you have to deal with all the environmental groups who will sue to stop whatever drilling is going to take place. There was a city in South Dakota that recently voted to build the first refinery in the U.S.....since the 70s. All it will take is one environmentalist's lawsuit to bring that to a screeching halt.
