  1. Would this be the guy? http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...p;Q_SEASON=2008
  2. You two guys may not care about seeing practice..some of us do. And none of us on here, are DEMANDING that practices be open. What we're tired of...is this is the second year in a row, where it has been communicated to us that a practice or scrimmage was open. A lot of us planned our Friday night (or Saturday last year)....around watching said event. Only to be told hours before hand....that we couldn't come. TD can close all his practices. They can be open only to players' relatives, area high school coaches and former NT players. Hopefully those folks will also go to his radio show on Monday nights...since I won't be wasting my time going to those any more. I'll just go to the games, Coach.
  3. Drex ole pal...that's all I want...some clarity. To me, if all (or almost all) of his practices are closed to us fans...don't even let the schedule out. Those relatives of players don't need a schedule...their kid can tell them when practices/scrimmages are. And one more thing: TD needs to stop telling fans to come out and watch practice. I've heard him do it...on numerous occasions. I know he mentioned it a lot at his radio shows last year.
  4. Well...we are essentially in our training camp. That's what we're in right now. And btw.....practices have been closed since Tuesday. The only one that was open was the very first one. And as to your distraction list: TD allows parents, siblings, relatives of players to all scrimmages/practices. My point was....the NFL never misses a beat when it comes to promoting its' product. We miss every beat. I guess the thing I will never understand is this: Does NT not realize that there are, on average....15,000 empty seats for our games? We're not a tough ticket. But, they sure the hell act like we are.
  5. The leaders there...they don't care about the people in the stands. Not at all. Oh wait. I'm sorry...I'm getting The Chinese Olympics mixed up with NT Athletics.
  6. It's hard to argue with the policy. After all, last year a lot of the fall scrimmages/practices were closed. And if you remember in our opener...Oklahoma was totally clueless as to what we were gonna do. Seriously...NFL teams, with their intricate offenses...open up training camps to thousands of fans. The Cowboys allow HBO full access to training camp. And yet, here in little ole Denton....we who struggle to draw 15,000 fans a year....we keep fans out of the fifth practice of the year. BTW....this isn't RV's fault or anyone else's. This is all Barrow's bullshit. Trust me.
  7. I like Game Plan, and will get it again this year. Even if you don't order Game Plan...you ought to be happy with it. Because I'm betting that if it wasn't for Game Plan.....ESPN wouldn't be carrying all those SBC games every year on ESPN Regional.
  8. The football schedule poster lists the FIU (home game) and the WKU (away game) as being part of the ESPN Regional TV package. Those games are on ESPN Game Plan for you fans out of the area. Here locally they are televised on one of the independent channels (it had been 52; last year's were on either 21 or 27 as I recall). There has also been word that the LSU game might be on Cox Cable systems. But as I recall that broadcast would just be a tape delayed.
  9. They pick us 6th in the Belt...ahead of ULL and FIU. They say we'll go 2-5 in the league, 3-9 overall. We're their 112th ranked team in the listing of all 119 FBS teams. I hope they're way off on that, of course. But, I do dig this projection: They have 3 Belt teams in bowls. (FAU in NO against Houston; Troy in the Papa John's (Birmingham) Bowl against South Florida; and MTSU in the Independence Bowl against Oklahoma State.) Danny Meager and Matt Menard (blurred)....make the magazine. They're on page 76 in a picture on the OU Sooner write-up.
  10. My favorite part was when Drew Atchison (rookie TE).....got up and had the whole team singing "My Girl".
  11. NFL Films does such great work. I always like "Hard Knocks".....no matter what team they're following. But, I especially like it...when they do the Cowboys.

  13. http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...;ATCLID=1550078 The Edwards weight situation is explained at the 7:03 update. Earlier in the day (3 something)....nice words from Craig Robertson about our newcomers.
  14. Is that Mattress Mac's nephew?
  15. Greg hasn't played for us...at all. He sat out last year after transferring from The Naval Academy. It's a shame...we had two really good transfers and neither one will be playing for us: Fentriss (career ending injury) and Garden (left the team).
  16. Good find, FLF. Good luck to all three of those guys!
  17. I've been told that Nick Leppo is going to grayshirt....just like Bron Hager did. So, I don't think he'll be on the roster until spring.
  18. You're probably right, buddy. My mistake.
  19. I think this is a picture of Draylen Ross: http://www.meangreensports.com/PhotoAlbum....amp;ZID=1221273
  20. Not sure if that is the final draft. One other note: Alex Lott IS on there. I thought he decided to go elsewhere. Maybe not.
  21. That is greatness. I saw it last year, when it first aired. HBO does a great job on sports documentaries. Anyway, hopefully my Tivo is working right now. I'm taping that doc for my neighbor (a Michigan grad).
  22. #74 is a good number for Troy Franklin. One of the greatest DTs ever wore that number....the great Bob Lilly.
  23. I think I would cut them a little slack today...as it seems that the roster updating is going on.....right now. So there may be some errors that will be corrected eventually. As someone who can attend practices...I was mainly interested in what the new players uniform numbers would be. So, any updates in that regard....are much appreciated.
  24. I do think some of the weight, height info might be inaccurate. For example...unless he's been ill or on Nutri Systems...I doubt Justin Edwards is weighing 152 lbs. He was 185 when we signed him.
  25. Buddy...have fun. That's one place I've always wanted to go. I hear that Austrailian chicks dig Americans. (not that that would help me any).
