I still think Roberson has a lot of potential. But, not the way we're using him. I think he could be a Malcolm Kelly "stretch a defense" type of WR. We tend to mostly though, throw to him at the line of scrimmage and hope that he can make someone miss. Come to think of it....that's how we throw to everybody.

Cowboys New Unis?
SUMG replied to NT91's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
There have been uniform surveys done before. And usually that most often worn Cowboy uni (white shirt, silver helmet, silver pants)...is considered one of the best looking uniforms in all of sports. So, no. BTW....have the Steelers changed their unis this year? I thought when I first saw those.....they were throwback jerseys. But it seems like every game I see them wearing those now. Their unis were classics too. Have they changed? Anyone know? -
Too many people on this board...act as if Vito is supposed to be an extension of the Sports Information Department. He's not.

I went by the ticket office today. There were two gals working in there (they were young, maybe students). Anyway, I asked three questions and they couldn't answer any of the three. First, I asked ,"When will the schedule posters be in?" Answer: "I don't know." (I then told the gals that I wanted some schedule posters for our alumni event on Thursday. Neither offered to take any contact information, so that they could let me know when they do come in). I then asked, "When will season tickets go out?" Answer: "I don't know.....maybe a couple of weeks?" And finally, I asked, "Are the seats at the first men's game (at the Snake Pit)....are those all going to be general admission?" Answer: "I don't know. We haven't decided yet." What a waste of time.

I wouldn't want Willingham here....but he has had a little bit of success as a coach: Following the 1994 season, Willingham was appointed head coach of the football program at Stanford. In his seven seasons (1995-2001) as coach, he led the Cardinal to a 44-36-1 record, a Pac-10 conference championship and four bowl game appearances, including the 2000 Rose Bowl. His 44 wins were the most by a Stanford coach coach since John Ralston who left the school after the 1971 season. On December 31, 2001, Willingham was hired as head coach at Notre Dame.[2] Notre Dame Main article: Notre Dame Fighting Irish football under Tyrone Willingham Willingham got off to an auspicious start at Notre Dame. He began the 2002 season by going 8–0, becoming the only first-year coach in Notre Dame history to win 10 games. For his efforts he was named the ESPN/Home Depot College Coach of the Year,[3] the Scripps College Coach of the Year, the Black Coaches Association Male Coach of the Year and the George Munger Award College Coach of the Year by the Maxwell Football Club.[4] Subsequently, Notre Dame finished 5–7 in 2003 and were beaten badly in four of those losses, getting shut out twice in one season for the first time since 1960. In 2004, Notre Dame posted a 6–5 record regular season, including a 41–16 loss to Purdue and ending with Willingham's third consecutive 31 point loss to the University of Southern California for his fifth blowout loss by 30 points or more in his three seasons. The following Monday, November 30, after an overall record in South Bend of 21–15, Notre Dame terminated Willingham as head coach.[5] Defensive coordinator Kent Baer served as acting head coach for the Insight Bowl, a 38-21 loss to Oregon State University.

We can't afford a 4 year dead spot in football...like UW can. After all, they're a storied program, and if not mistaken shared a national title in the early 90s (91?) Plus, Ty Willingham, though a disaster at UW....has proven himself as a college coach. He had some decent years at Stanford and one great year at Notre Dame. Dodge has yet to prove that he's a college head coach. So, I don't think he should get the same leeway that Ty W got.

I'll be there. Also, there are supposed to be two autographed basketballs to be given away at this event (one done by each team). They will be those great display basketballs....from what I am told. All you have to do to win one....is show up and sign up for the giveaway. Plus, there will be refreshments (including adult beverages) at this event.

I still attend the games, and am still a member of the MGC....and I'll do that next year, as well. BUT........I am sick of Todd Dodge and his elitist bullcrap. He brought a lot of Southlake snobbery up here to Denton. We put our players in hotels on the nights before home games. That's something we'd never done before. (I know other "big schools" do that. But, I bet you we're the only SBC team that does it). He makes his practices/scrimmages off limits to the fans. A lot of good the Dodge super secrecy has done us. Supposedly, we have spent time and money....going several times this year to McKinney to practice in their indoor practice facility. And then, on last Wednesday...since it was a bit chilly....we practiced inside at the PEB??? (Maybe a parent of a player will elaborate on this). If those last two things are true....that's pathetic. And finally....I know some have given him some credit....but what exactly did Dodge do to help get the stadium initiative passed? What? Please tell me.

Hopefully it means that Dodge realizes that his spread offense.....NEEDS A TIGHT END.

I saw a kid in a black and gold letter jacket....that had a "G" on it. I was thinking that might be---Garland. Aren't those their colors. He had a TE on his letter jacket....... That's all I've got.

Pickens has done other donations tied to hedge funds. He got a lot of good pub for giving UT Southwestern Medical School.....$50 million a while back. I thought it was odd then, that the donation had to be put into a hedge fund, that would grow into $500 million in 25 years. And, at that point, UT Southwestern could start using the money. http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/utsw/cda/dep...les/386156.html So, he gets his ass kissed for his donation....but if the hedge fund fails.....the schools don't get crap. Not saying that OSU knew that this donation was iffy....but they've already renamed their stadium Minute Maid Field.

It sounds like it will only be a short taped interview. No calls.

According to my friend Green Grenade II.....Todd Dodge will be on KRLD's Sports Central call-in show tonight. According to GGII....Dodge is supposed to be on for an hour. I'm getting all this info second hand....but I did look it up...KRLD (1080 on your AM dial)...airs Sports Central from 7-9. Not sure when Todd will be on.....but according to GGII, KRLD has been talking up our stadium a lot today. Anyway, like I said....all this info came from GGII. He asked me to post this.

RV isn't in Monroe....I saw him at hoops practice at 5 p.m. (I'm guessing the team is bussing to that game...and won't leave until tomorrow). Anyway, I did try to check his mood...but I really couldn't tell anything...one way or the other.

Know what those five games have in common? All were under high school coaches trying to make it as college coaches. (Parker---Nevada, Nebraska; Dodge---OU, Rice, and Navy).

The game will be played at SMU: http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com/

If you're gonna make these Chicken Little posts......at least change your signature. You contradict yourself. Anyway, shouldn't you already be cowering in a tornado shelter until HURRICANE Ike passes by?

This is great news. That Open Date next week will come at a great time (an extra week for Eddrick to get in shape). Anyway, after the Rice game...EG will have about the same amount of practices......as all our kids had going into the K State game. Thus, for our first conference game..EG ought to be all right. Welcome back, Eddrick.

He was touched on that one play....where it looked like a fumble...but they said it was a non-reviewable play. I guess the refs said that he was throwing...but to me it wasn't even close.

Really? I think wins over UTA (we haven't beaten Scott Cross yet), NMSU, and Sam Houston State......will be tough to come by.
