Another 3*???

Having closely followed recruiting for the last 15 years I honestly had grown more and more disinterested every year. We continued to pull in classes that ranked near the bottom of all teams in the country. What has happened thus far in recruiting for 2019 is truly exciting.

UCLA and Chip Kelly are off to a rooouuugh start in recruiting. Only 2 commits, both 3 stars, and currently ranked #93 in the nation. Chip was a lazy recruiter at Oregon but had the swoosh behind him. I’m expecting a major bust in Cali

100% agree with Wren in scheduling. I’ve been beating that drum for years. Play an FCS every year, get an easy W, unless you’re Mac. Play 2 G5’s, as your program advances these should become W’s. Play a lower Power 5 team, which is the type of school that would agree to a H and H. Vandy, Colorado, Illinois, Rutgers, Iowa St. these are the types of teams. Sure it might be an L but there’s a better chance of knocking one of them off compared to OU, Bama and LSU. Its the Boise method

Agree, If they are such a borderline prospect to start with that you are blue shirting them, then the odds of them contributing are low. and with 19 signed, a couple of those being jucos who enrolled early and possibly count to last years class, I don’t see why we wouldn’t have room for someone like this

But this is poo poo. I’ve follwed NT recruiting closely for a long time and it just seems like we can’t ever capitalize on a good season. I know that it’s usually the following years class that sees the uptick. But damn, when the hell are we going to start landing a class full of studs. A class full of recruits who have P5 offers. I don’t care if those offers are from Kansas, Washington State, Vanderbilt, and whoever else. We aren’t regularly beating out the La Techs of the world at this point. I know we have some decent kids onboard with this class, but I want to see an entire class of it. There’s no reason we should be getting kicked around on the recruiting trail like we are. End rant

Was excited for Tee at NT. Couldn’t find any stats on him at SFA.

When’s the last time we signed a top 100 player? the success we had in the 2000’s was built from Dickey stumbling upon several top 100 players in one class.

The allen brothers who have been playing at Arky weren’t much bigger than Jones is. Manziel wasn’t a big dude. As we’re seeing with these spread offenses size at qb isn’t as big as it once was.
