19 to freakin 1 (ONE) One damn point? Loooonnnnnng night ahead yay, 19-3 now
-
Yeah, I'm sure it is, but that is rediculus! Why cant they have an even number of games? Not play in one of those tournements where no NT fans will be, and replace it with 5 home games. There you go, an even schedule, and a chance to build more fan base for the SB team.
-
That sucks about the cheerleaders not getting scholarships, but all of the dancers can show up? Are they on scholarship? Also, aren't there 2 squads of cheerleaders? If there were, they could alternate. Here is an idea, for each game, invite varsity cheerleaders from area high schools to come and cheer with the NT cheerleaders. Maybe they could get some sort of NT uniform (maybe shirt and shorts) and blend in with the NT cheerleaders. I agree, 3 is better than two, but not good enough.
-
I think there will be a strong showing of fans, but what about the cheerleaders. Seriously, why are there only 4 or 5 there every game. I didnt say anything during the break, even though the whole dance team found a way to make it. Ive waited until school got back in swing, and I've given them a chance to show up, but they haven't. I have probably seen once or twice where most or all of the cheerleaders have been there this spring. Im not flaming anyone, I am seriously asking, what gives?

You know, I just checked the softball schedule, and I have to ask...WHO IN THE WORLD MADE THAT SCHEDULE, Craig Helwig???????? 15 home games and 25 road games. Thats BS!

Terrell Owens
Rudy replied to mad dog's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I think Favre is called a warrior because Brett seems like a humble person. TO, Im not calling him selfish. but how's this for being a pompus arse, When he got hurt, he told the coaches to make sure to tell the team, "Make sure they know they can win without me." This guy needs to be humbled. -
I think they are at the beginning of a dynasty. I do think its odd however, that when they were listing the dynasties before the game, they mentioned several teams, but I failed to hear them mention the Cowboys of the '90's. Maybe they did, but if not, I think its interesting how they won 3 of 4 Super Bowls, didn't the 'Boys do the same thing?
-
Don't forget that POS Buddy Ryan putting bounty on the heads of other players, especially the Cowboy's players. Overall, I think it was a good game, Im glad the Patriots won. But the best thing of the night was a certain GMG user winning a 32 inch Zenith TV from Hooters. I'd say it was a good night overall.

2005 HOF Inductees
Rudy replied to Rudy's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Yeah, I heard that last night. its a bunch of crap. I would think that the rest of the committee would notice this, and not permit those writers, such as those from Washinton, to block players from a rival team, jsut because their guy won't get in. Futhermore, they are not SUPPOSED to consider off the field issues, at least when voting in Lawerence Thomas. Oh wait, he's a New York guy. Hmmmmm <_< And Derrick Thomas? You can't tell me hes not HOF material. I think that Art Monk should go in, but he is not better than Irvin, and Irvin should go in first. -
They just announced the 2005 NFL HOF class, and Irvin does not make it. at least 7 of the 39 voters do not think he deserves to be in. Complete BS!!!!! The bias against Dallas sports continues. Also, somehow, Derrick Thomas does not get in. What were those aholes smoking?!

Your most memorable NT B Ball Road Trips?
Rudy replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Fav trip to the Pit was the game in which Emmitt made a certain sign, then myself, and I believe brent and jdub held above the visiting tunnel. We were playing Denver and it was RV's 2nd year and JJ's 1st. Not going to quote the sign, those who were there know what I'm refferring to. Fav road trip would be the OSU game vs the women in the NIT. Had a ref threaten me, then tell the local smokeys that I was threatening his life. Smokey's were about to arrest me because I was unaware at the time of what the ref had told them. Looking back, it was funny, and it still provides a good laugh for me and the Olsens, but man was my mom pissed. It made for a long trip back home. Talk about the cold shoulder treatment. -
Question
Rudy replied to MadameD's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Ask away as far as the area and apartments. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a pm. -
Really, what "statistics" do you have that say black men are better athletes than white men? Besides, I could show you a study done in the 40's that said black men had a smaller brain than white men. Now, we all know that's not true, so I doubt that a person's race makes them a better athlete. Ive seen plenty of evidence of that at 24hr fitness. Before you say there is no relevance, realize that you are talking genetics. There are no genetics that make blacks better athletes and whites smarter. Coaches put middle school and high school atheltes at certain postions. Many times they move a white kid to fullback or tight end without giving them a fair chance, just like the move black kids away from quarterback positions without giving them a fair chance. Remember we all bleed the same color, green. What is black and white and read all over? this post
-
Dude, that was WAY out of line.
-
Thank you, that is exactly what I was about to post. Yes racism does still exist, but it goes BOTH ways!!!! A white child wants to be a running back, stick him at the fullback position. A white child wants to be a a reciever, put him at tight end. No questions asked, stick him there. Let the white kids be the linemen. Yeah, there are a few white kids at those "skill" postions, but they have a huge uphill battle to get the chance to play the position. I think sometimes its harder for them to get a chance at those positions than it is for a black player to get a chance at quarterback. Don't think so, check the numbers. I don't know where to check, but Im willing to say that I am dead on on this. It seems that many want to focus on the racism on hiring coaches, but want to deny the racism in the actaul game itself. Shouldn't the best player and coach get the job?
-
Why does it always have to be a race issue? The best guy should get the job. RF didn't get any job offers becuase he's bad, not because he is black.
-
Don't take all of this so personally. If I took everything directed at me personally, I wouldn't be here. You are welcome to your opinion, we are welcome to ours. Alot of people just do not agree with you on this issue, and it was backed up. So someone took a jab or two, get over it. I have to all the time. You'll be ok

????? You're kidding right? Are you one of those who doesn't like Simon Says because it teaches "deception" or don't like dodgeball in elementry schools because it creates winners and losers? Most of us are saying wait until the end of the season before anything is done, unless the team just starts to suck, which we don't think will happen. Why should Coach Slinker be on the hot seat? Look at her record, 5 winning seasons our of 16? 2 NIT appearances where we were blown out. I was at the game at OSU, Emmitt and Brad Olsen can vouch for that The game was not even close, even though the score may not seem bad. She recruits some good players, but we are ALWAYS undersized when it comes to playing a good program, which is where we should be trying to get. Most of us are not saying she needs to be shown the door, but she needs to be on the hot seat. And on the facilities BS, the Super Pit is one of the nicest basketball facilites I have been to. It is right up there with Baylor, SMU, TCU and OK St Im not saying its better, but it competes right with them. Some have a slightly better atmostphere inside the arena, some have better lighting, and some have a better concourse. But I have not been to a single arena yet where I say that it is without a doubt better than the Pit. The Pit underwent major changes beginning with Trilli. We went from those aweful 70's orange seats, to the now green ones, replaced the floor, painted the new floor with lighter green so it will show up better on TV, put in 2 new scoreboards with the video screen, added the statistics boards, and they are now renovating the outside. When it comes to basketball, facilites CANNOT be used as an excuse.

2/2 rent would be around $400-$450 + splitting utilities. Easy Access to US 75 and 380, about 30 minutes from UNT in average traffic, 15-20 in good traffic. Scenic view and view of pool from balcony. Just about completely furnished. Good office staff (5x-10x better than the staff at the student complexes) If you or someone you know would be interested, pm me.

Boys vs Giants
Rudy replied to Rudy's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Coach, Im not going to imply that you are lying to me about Keyshawn. I know your knowledge of the game, so if you say he was playing balls out, I believe you. What I am saying is that I did not see that level of play. Maybe you paid closer attention to the game than I did at times. What I did see was him in a verbal argument with Parcells during a game. I did see several pics that were thrown to him, where he did not attempt to disrupt the pic, or make the catch. I did see him come out of the game on a couple of occasions for what really appeared as a phantom injury. I did see a few very nice plays, and I will give him credit for those plays. If you say he played balls out, I believe you, I just did not see it with me own eyes. -

I didnt see his ankle get caught. I don't like him because he has a big mouth, and I have not seen the same level of play you have. Sorry he broke his ankle, that does suck. -

I knew I spoke too soon, what a way to lose Did anyone see just how exactly KJ got his booboo? I saw the play, and I saw the replay. I can't tell where he hurt it. -
Not too bad so far against NYG. But Im laughing at how much praise Vinny is getting from the announcers. I don't think they are capable of saying anything negative about him.
-
Are you serious? YES. It is all of the coaches fault that NOONE realized that there werent 5 ladies in white jerseys on the court right in front of the team bench. Im not saying fire Slinker, but this ship needs to be righted.
