You find it suprising?? I thoght it was common knowledge that our right to privacy has been revoked. Everyone has the "right" to know everything about everyone and everthing. Or so many seem to think. I hope Coach's father-in-law gets better.

"take That Old Lady!"
Rudy replied to FirefightnRick's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Bingo!!! And yes, there are more important issues, but this is an issue. Yes, its wrong to repress a segment of our population. That lady had EVERY right to voice her opinion. -

Was Bush Really That Bad?

We are one of the very few countries who still follows the Geneva Convention. The rules are too binding for warfare. Im not saying we have total disrespect for everyone else, but we need to protect our own hides and kill the enemy. I'm all for saving Mosques, but the enemy should not be allowed to hide in them. Do not fire until fired upon is BS. People want to bitch about civilians dying, but they dont give America and our allies the credit we deserve for trying to preserve innocent life. We spend a million dollars to take one dumb bomb, put some computer parts on it, and turn it into a smart bomb. We are developing weapons that can take out a small building with pinpoint accuracy. We develop missles that can destroy a target with little debris that can injure innocent people. The canadians have developed a device that uses water to detstroy an IED. Yes, I said water! We have snipers that have to call in a target, only to lose that target of opportunity and have said target firing on them later in the day. They will sit in their Humvees and take fire, waiting for a freakin Iraqi mayor to give permission to enter the mosque sheltering the insurgents. Sorry, but it pisses me off. CNN has a damn counter in the corner of their screen counting up to the 1K, 2K, 4K US Servicemen deaths. That is not only irresponsible journalism, but totally disrespectful. Our military has to fight a war with one hand tied behind their backs and with us looking over their shoulder. Everyone thinks we have a right to know whats going on, but we dont. It pisses me off that we can not allow them to do their job without second guessing by people who have never been in that situation. We need to sit back, shut up, and let them do their jobs, and be proud of what they do. Sorry, I know this probably has nothing to do with the thread, but I felt like ranting about the war. -
I was at the Downtown Dallas Greyhound Station this summer when a man who was a little grungy, but most likely travelling, held a woman's stroller while she placed her baby back in the stroller. The lady completely flipped out, and started demanding for the man to move to another seat and accusing him of trying to steal her baby. The guy just sat there with this "what the hell" look. The lady was going overboard, and if you didnt agree with her, then you were part of it or she told you to "mind your own business". The double standard will never cease to amaze me.

Not bad. I only got to see the last few minutes. But it looked pretty good. I didnt have any sound. My question is: Can we not do this for our games, and for the soccer, volleyball, and softball games as well? I think this would be a good way to get people who cant make all of the games and a good way to get some exposure and support for some of our other sports.

Computer Help
Rudy replied to GoMeanGreen1999's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Not to make you feel bad about it, but next time you should go with a Toshiba or HP. Get it from Office Depot or Best Buy, and those extended warranties are actually pretty handy. -

Hey, I just said you can't be arrested. Now, if your dash cam and body mic suddenly develop a temp case of the Y2K bug, thus erasing all evidence? Well... -

I dont know if the post invasion plan is screwed up as much as we are trying to hand over more and more authority to the Iraqis and it doesnt look like they are ready. -

Hell, people go around every day saying things like "Kill Bush" "Kill Obama" etc. That doesnt make it a viable threat. As long as he doesnt show to take some initiative on the statement, no big deal. Thats part of the greatness of Free Speech. You can walk up to a Cop, say "F*** You, and not be arrested, you can flip the bird to obama and not even get a blink from anyone. NOW, if he had said something along the lines of "he was going to do something", that would probably warrant a visit from the feds. But a blanket statement like that holds no ground. Much less, anyone who is dumb enough to say it in a public forum like Facebook, is either someone exercising free speech, or going to end up on "Worlds Dumbest Criminals" It actually takes more than you think to constitute a threat. If you like, I can pull out my Lexus Nexus and tell you the exact definition. -
Wow. Step down off of your soapbox. It was a KID being stupid and saying something stupid.

Texas Player Kicked Off Team
Rudy replied to Quoner's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Well, it depends on where the player was freakin born. if you would have paid attention to the entire discussion, you would know that. And just what federal law did he break? -
Hey, what he said was stupid, yes, but he is a freakin kid. Hell, people are given second chances all the time. How many chances has Packman Jones been given? What about Ron Artest? Bill Clinton? Im not saying I want him on the team or not. He made a mistake and he has paid for it. He may still pay for it in different ways. He deserves another chance to grow up, regardless of where it is.

The reason we have not had any attacks since 9/11 and noone is currently worried is because they are busy attcking fighting our troops in the Middle East and their infastructure has been crippled. We know where Bin Laden is, but since he is in Pakistan, its a delicate situation to get him. Pakistan doesnt want our troops in their soil. They are an ally, but their people hate us. Their enemy, India, is also an ally, and their prople are at least more favorable with us. If we were to just go and get OBL, Pakistan may be forced to give in to their peoples demand that they cut ties with the US. Problem is that India and Pakistan both have nuclear weapons. -

I think the issue of gay marriage should be left up to each state. It doesnt really have a detrimental effect on the nation either way. Leave it up to the state, via the 10th Amendment. As for the issue at hand, The kid has a right to say what he wants. I dont agree with kicking him off of the team. I understand Mack not wanting that statement reflecting the team, but he has a right to free speech. If this were the business world, Id agree with the decision. The only way He should be dismissed is if he violated some signed agreement that states you can not do anything detrimental to the school or program. But then again, Mack has players breaking the law all the time. He should be punished yes, but just make the kid run some laps till he pukes or something. That or have him hunt with Cheney.
