Even if you dont, those who do not need to please make it clear that you are still supporting the team and you are still going to be a fan and coming to games. We dont want to lose anyone who can help us because they think that the fans are going to abandon them

Without reading what has already been posted. 1. Beautiful campus with continuing improvements. 2. Great rec center with a ton of amenities. 3. Dancers, NT Angels, and well, just about any NT girl is pretty hot 4. Bonfire 5. Playing the last game in our current stadium and playing the first game in a new one. Which will be great new stadium 6. New Orleans as a garaunteed bowl destination for being the conference champ 7. Ability to play and contribute right away 8. Tailgating 9. Tight network of alumni who pretty much know everyone on the team and tailgate together. 10. Fans who try to make as many road games as possible, and who have been known to out cheer the home team 11. Denton is growing and has plenty of entertainment options. 12. Close to Dallas and Ft Worth for entertainment 13. 2001 - 2004 New Orleans Bowls 14. 2001 NMSU game. Driving out there on the bus, being treated like crap from the Athletic Dept, having 2 campus police threaten to arrest all 300+ NT fans, the biased PA guy, the last minute drive, and the game winning TD with 18 seconds left and then dogpiling each other at the bottom of the section. 15. 2002 NMSU game. Winning the SBC at home and tearing down the goalposts. Did anyone ever find it? 16. Lighting the tower after a win. 17. Some really nice apartments in Denton. 18. Good food in Denton GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!

Look, is anyone happy about last year's record? Lord I hope not. But, he is OUR coach. We need to support him and the team. If we had gotten rid of JJ after 2 seasons, where would our basketball team be? If I remember correctly, it took him 3 or 4 season before we really saw improvement. Then what happens? WE make the NCAA tourney, we start a season 3 - 0 and beat Ok St, Then we go to their house and play a very strong game the next season. You all know the saying that Rome was not built overnight. Well the Roman Empire wasnt destroyed overnight either. Same for this program. It was on a decline DD's last couple of years. Think of Dodge as a paramedic. He arrives on scene and the victim (NT FB) is bleeding profusely. The victim is going to still bleed a little before Dodge gets the bleeding stopped. I know I am using a lot of analogies here, but I think too many got spoiled by the 4 conference championships. The SBC got better and we did not. This program will not get turned around overnight. Basicly, what I am saying is either support the program, or dont. Right now we are a bunch of arguing little kids and it is going to make other kids not want to come play in our sandbox.

First off, the way everyone talks, its as if everyone expected to be winning 9 games right off the bat. You also have to understand that the SBC has improved, while we have not. So yes, There is going to be a bigger point differential. Im not saying there is nothing wrong. Im saying that Dodge still needs more time, and that I dont believe that we would be any better if DD was still here.

Dodge's first 2 years: 3 - 21 Opponents combined record 2008: 77 - 73 (SBC: 43 - 98) Points for: 240, Points against: 571 Opponents combined record 2007: 63 - 78 (SBC: 36 - 54) Points for: 298, Points against: 541 Dickey's last 2 years: 5 - 18 Opponents combined record 2006: 68 - 81 (SBC: 39 - 50) Points for: 154, Points against: 304 (FIU went 0-12) Opponents combined record 2005: 64 - 82 (SBC: 32 - 46) Points for: 157, Points against: 346 I do not see any vast difference between Dickey's last two and Dodges first 2.

Its what we had earlier during the DD tenure. At the end we were getting blown out by just about everyone. I think we are pretty close to the same regarding the on the field performance. Difference is that we are all coming down off of our Dodge hiring high.

Gagree. I am willing to give Todge at least half of next year to see some sort of improvement. If he cant show any signs, then I would be in favor of making a change. And I sat thorugh that disaster at Rice. I know that there are alot of problems with the program, some wwere due to Dickey mailing it in the last year and a half here, and some are probably due to Dodge. Remember the saying, its always darkest before the light, except in SMU's case.

Look, yes it is his, or his dad's, decision. We dont have to like it. But, the thing about it that bugs me the most is that he chose to do it NOW. He could have done it right after the season and given Dodge a chance to recruit a QB in addition to our other needs. He could have been warning Dodge that he was thinking about leaving for the same reason. Or, he could have gone to Dodge, like a man, and said that he did not like where the program was going, and try to help make changes, like a leader should. What does he do? He leaves out of the blue in MID JANUARY. To me, that is quitting on the program. I dont care about that he is leaving. If he doesnt want to be here, then I dont want him here. But dont screw the rest of the team who is going to try and stick it out.

No shock here. I understand being frustrated with the program, but things dont always go your way. That is life. However, I bet his buddy Sam had alot of "influence"

I say go after a coordinator from S Florida, Boise St, or Utah. Someone from a mid major who knows how to win and build a program.
