  1. And it was your generation that got us in this mess to begin with. But keep blaming Obama, that's been going so well for you politically.
  2. But its not. This story stinks. I looked on gasbuddy.com for the Orlando area. There is one. One station in Lake Buena Vista that is charging 5.89 for regular unleaded. It's not even on the Walt Disney World grounds. Its not as if it's the only station on a 100 mile stretch of the Everglades where they can gouge because they're the only game in town. There are at least 10 stations in the surrounding area, I'd say within a square mile radius, that are all charging the state average of 3.60-3.70. That story is straight up BS, and suckers like you eat it up for some sort of glimmer of hope that it'll make Obama lose in November.
  3. The ones that exist in reality You stated polls, I don't care what your anecdotal evidence of Obama losing traction is.
  4. Cute headline, but context matters.
  5. I'm confused, are you talking about Romney or Obama?
  6. He was correcting Rudy's misinformation. Something we non-conservatives have to do a lot of around here.

  8. Tomato = Tomahto. I'm not aware of what Silver Eagle is referring to.
  9. What I posted is not related to speculation? Currently the same amount of oil is on the world market as there was 4 weeks ago. Iran cut off supply to Britain and France, but not to the rest of the world. China, India, Russia, the US, the EU ect all relatively demand the same amount of oil. Nothing dramatic has changed: no tanker spills, no pipeline explosions, no one nation suddenly stopped or started using vehicles and airplanes. The main cause of oil prices escalating has to do with speculation that supply might be decreased and/or otherwise compromised due to geo-political instability in a region that supplies a whole bunch of it. I didn't say its greedy, I didn't say its illegal, I didn't say its wrong in any way, I just said that's what it is.
  10. Best estimates calculate that 65% of their money comes from marijuana. Will making it legal in the US end the cartels? No, but it might do some damage.
  11. But the Strait of Hormuz is where 20% of the world's supply travels.
  12. Since drug legalization has taken affect in Portugal, their abuse rates have actually lowered.
  13. This isn't really correct. Speculators right now are afraid of Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz, and general instability in the region. Yesterday the price of oil rose $1 per barrel just on the news alone that Iran wouldn't allow UN inspectors to see their facilities (gawd this sounds familiar). Some countries are buying up huge amount of oil in the event that any sort of conflict escalates with Iran in the near future, which also causes the price to rise. Hopefully after it all calms down, we'll be slightly overloaded with supply and gas could take a strong dip depending on when this all blows over. The Keystone pipeline decision has nothing to do with it, the first date of operation for that wouldn't have come anytime soon.
  14. I agree. I'm going to go burn their state flag because he vetoed the same-sex marriage bill.
  15. I had a big problem with the fact that we've been there for 11 years. Longer than Vietnam at this point. I understand the geo-political absurdities that came with invading Afghanistan, but why are we still babysitting them after all this time? Al-Qaeda has been dismantled for years now, the Taliban is willing to negotiate a peace process, and we're still paying for this war through borrowing.
  16. Mormons practiced polygamy in the late 1800's when they petitioned for annexation. The US wouldn't allow them into union until they outlawed polygamy. Many native American tribes used peyote in religious ceremonies until the US government stepped in and said they couldn't. Its happened in history, and this was already law in 28 states. Where was the outrage then?
  17. Exactly. And OU already has a game every year in DFW for their fans anyways. It's nationally televised, and has 45k fans in Crimson during the State Fair. What's another game in DFW against a cupcake like us gonna do for them?
  18. Way to prove you're above all that "liberal headstrong namecalling" BS you just posted in the last page. You're confusing forcing views upon with not giving special privileged to. Who said I did? I believe god is not mentioned in the Constitution (it isn't), and that religion doesn't have a place in public policy decisions. No, I'm quite consistent. I don't want yours, nor anyone else's religious beliefs interfering with the law of the land. You are conflating the two as some sort of government interference when it is not.
  19. Screaming Eagle already explained what they're doing 'in the middle of church'. You dance with the devil, you better be willing to pay the price. You conservatives understand that, you just need something else to get your panties in a wad about since the economy is improving. Go ahead and nominated Santorum, let's go ahead and have a culture war that you guys so badly desire. You'll discover quickly enough that the country isn't as right-wing as you wish it was. And while we're on the subject, why not concern about Santorum's view on contraception? Are you not worried that he could/would appoint judges to overturn Griswold vs Connecticut? I mean, just look at some of his comments on contraception. http://abcnews.go.co...-women-in-2006/ http://www.huffingto...ml?ref=politics http://www.theatlant...special/253104/ What about the $$ guy behind Santorum's SuperPAC? http://www.reuters.c...175227720120216
  20. Because all of the OU fans wouldn't have fit into Apogee Stadium. It would look more like a home game to them than for us.
  21. I guess you were cool with the probability of 30% unemployment then. I wasn't, and I'm glad Bernanke/Bush/Paulson/Obama all stepped in and straightened that crap out. Now if only they'd put through tougher regulation to keep it from happening again.
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griswold_v._Connecticut I'm sure if it were Muslims protesting instead of Catholics you'd be just as on board with this whole crusade as you are now. Surely...
  23. You must be kidding, right? EVERY SINGLE FIRST LADY is the public eye. It's unavoidable. They're married to arguably the most power man in the world. They take up a non-controversial cause (Laura's was literacy, Michelle's is kids nutrition) and speak publicly about it. Its something every first lady is basically 'required' to do. What is she supposed to do, sit up in the White House and watch TV all day? If you put it that simplistically, then yes. But even if the answer was no, he's still miles ahead of any Republican alternative IMO.
