Yeah a statement like that totally opens her up to monkey comparisons. Totally. -

Anyone who thinks the left was just as bad under Bush need to look no further than the right's hatred of Michelle Obama. That simply didn't exist with Laura Bush. -
I do understand that line of thinking, but he's still dead as a result. You ever have a friend or acquaintance that you knew who didn't "act drunk"? I had an uncle who until my cousins told me, I could never tell that he was pretty much wasted. He didn't get louder, he didn't slur his words or stumble. Dude could be as cool as a cucumber and I had no clue his BAL was probably double the legal limit to drive.

I don't quite get Jerry Brown's mother in all of this. I guess we grieve in different ways, but it's almost too extreme. I mean the dude killed your son through extremely irresponsible behavior. It's great that you can forgive him, or think that he's not a terrible person for his bad mistake, but to think that having mercy = no jail time is just mind-boggling. Just mind-boggling. It's great that she's not looking for vengeance, but even the most forgiving person should think that Brent should serve at least some jail time.

That's exactly it. And while MLS isn't the EPL or Serie A, it's made great strides in quality and is on par with quite a few European leagues. And look no further than Brek Shea to see that making the move doesn't always work out well for American players. He couldn't even make the gameday roster under Mark Hughes at Stoke & is now loaned to a team avoiding relegation in the Championship.

Great pick and even better maneuvering on draft day. This guy is from Colorado & wouldn't join the Rapids academy because he was staying loyal to his youth team. He went to Colorado School of Mines for the education and just tore it up. Speedy winger with good size, should work well opposite Castillo in a 4-3-3 formation. With Oscar Pareja coming from Colorado, he either had someone (or himself) with eyes on this kid down the road in Golden the last 2 years. We originally traded the 5th pick to Montreal for their 10th, an international slot & allocation money. We then traded the allocation money to move back to pick 6th. So just by moving down a position in the draft we were able to obtain an international slot, which you will definitely see Pareja use in the next few weeks with a big signing, mark my words. With so much parity it's tough to know how we'll do this year, but with the braintrust of Pareja/Ferruzzi/Clavijo, we're going to build a really good young team.

Yeah but unlike Houston, Boston College or UW doesn't need or think playing in Denton could really grab any recruits. Houston can play the whole "we're still in the same state" card and look good with a win, or respectable with a loss. That's what helped us get a Conference USA invite as well - DFW presence.

It's another trip to DFW to get some exposure for local recruits, I don't see why they wouldn't.

SEC Who?
Coffee and TV replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Would really have loved for the SEC to 'prove' its superiority this year by scheduling some games on the West Coast. Of course they won't do that, and we all saw Oregon make Tennessee look like a high school team.
