  1. Not many BC alumni looking to be in Shreveport between Christmas & New Year's. Tucson is at least a straight shot on I-10/20, and I'm betting they had a decent contingent from DFW make the quick drive.
  2. I'd never complain about going to San Diego though.
  3. You Christians keep fighting the good fight, some day you'll be accepted enough and get a president in the White House...
  4. Didn't know they had a UNT connection. I enjoy that album.
  5. I get a lot from Sirius, they have a 'college/indie' station as well as an CBC 3, the Canadian indie music station. Or there's some blogs that are on top of good stuff. Gorilla versus Bear is based outta Dallas. www.gorillavsbear.net
  6. Toro y Moi - Anything in Return Son of Stan - Divorce Pop EDIT: Mixed up an album name with a song title on said album.
  7. Just wait til you hear protests about how this is more proof of the liberal media being anti-Christian.
  8. As someone who has frequented the Cotton Bowl maybe more than Fouts/Apogee (and did on that day), they definitely had 25k there, maybe 35k. You have to remember they weren't just making the 3-4 hour drive up the road, there's probably loads of UH alums in DFW the same way there are loads of UNT alums in Houston. EDIT: Also, the temp was around 45-50 degrees but full-blown sunshine. It was chilly in the shade but not bad out. I would be ok with similar weather in a couple of weeks.
  9. I don't know how much they've received, but he did have to sell off a lot of stuff. Where he 'got away' with not paying was by moving to Florida where they couldn't touch his NFL retirement pension.
  10. Right on man. Call me cheap but I pay $30 for home tickets at Apogee, if I can avoid paying $75 for the bowl game then I will.
  11. Luckily for this kid, he'll have some help taking all of that money off his hands that made him such a bad person. http://kfor.com/2013/12/16/victims-families-file-multimillion-dollar-lawsuits-against-affluenza-teen/
  12. LOL. Alabama passed for 58 yards, was up 24-21 in the 4th quarter, and Gilbert had 6 turnovers. Yeah...McCoy wouldn't have made a difference at all.
  13. Putting that in my sig is more a dig at the uber anti-SMU people this forum has. There are no other choices for Men's Div 1 soccer in the state, and University Park is 30 minutes closer than Frisco for me. I'll catch a game or two a year, but I'm hardly a hardcore fan. That being said, I'm only slightly disappointed in Hyndman, he brought in some incredible talent and if not for an own goal in 2010 we'd have a MLS Cup on our shelves. His biggest problem was his stubbornness to change things up when he wasn't getting what he wanted out of his best players: Brek Shea, David Ferreira, Fabian Castillo. And butting heads with others: Pearce, McCarty, Hernandez. My dream would be for Oscar Pareja to come back, but it's not gonna happen right now. He coached FCD's youth team after he retired but he's building something in Colorado and doesn't want to leave that. My best hope would be Ferruzzi then. He played in the league, he's been an assistant 10 years now, and he's very much got the player's respect. I think he's due for a promotion. We do compete with Liga MX on the pitch although the quality isn't quite there yet. RSL almost won CONCACAF Champions League in 2011, and I know LA got to the semis last year. The EPL has 100 year head start on us and just loads and loads of $$$$. There's simply no competing with it in the near future, it is the league worldwide. La Liga might have Barca and Real Madrid, but top to bottom it doesn't come close to the EPL. The salary cap: well, the DP rule and some other wacky rules can get you around that cap, but if you've got a good coach that knows how to work the system (like Vermes did with KC this year), you don't need loads of money. The salary cap and single entity structure is still there to ensure that MLS isn't NASL 2.0 with teams folding left and right. Even with their own stadium Columbus loses money every year, and FC Dallas is barely in the black.
  14. We got Katy again? That's some Bullsh-t.
  15. Be prepared for a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards show type of atmosphere if you go to a Sidekicks game. I'm a little snobby towards indoor soccer but the Sidekicks make the experience so much worse.
  16. Season ticket holder for years now. I've never been a snob to MLS because it was what made me buy into soccer in the first place. EPL is mostly just an offseason afterthought in my mind. Can't wait for March 8th.
  17. Top 4 is fine. Let there be controversy with #5 or #6, but keep the focus on the regular season. Every game is a playoff game.
  18. He would have to be tried as an adult and for whatever reason that didn't take place.
  19. The problem is more or less how the system works and not just this particular judge. From other sources I've read, the judge's reasoning was that if he was sent to juvenile he would likely be released when he turns 18 in 2 years. By putting him under strict probation for 10, the kid is still kept under watch and will be handed a more severe punishment if he violates his parole. From what I gather, apparently this was a no-win situation for the judge....?????
  20. My Sooner buddy said he's down unless the weather is anything like it has been the 4 days.
  21. Exactly. It's either put up or shut up. With the year we had, we shouldn't be afraid of anyone.
  22. I just did before reading your post. I think they're very winnable but yet marque enough to bring attention.
