  1. Conservatives these days think being labeled a racist is worse than actually being a racist.
  2. http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/john-wiley-price-commissioner-indicted-267549761.html Corruption charges. Good. I voted against him in the primaries when I could, but I've since moved.
  3. Iran just got rid of a ton of enriched uranium. So there's that I guess...
  4. Read that this morning too. Shit is cray. What a screwed up guy.
  5. Not usually. The average EPL goals per game is 2.8 I think. This world cup was kinda weird, the group stage was out of control only for the knockout stages to really settle down and see teams play a little more conservatively. All in all it was a pretty great cup though. MLS still in full swing, EPL is back in a month. Soccer never sleeps.
  6. Military spending is great when it's necessary. World War II was probably the closest this country has ever come to socialism and it helped bring us out of the depression. Stimulus package wasn't technically a part of any budget. But overall, deficit spending is down every year since.
  7. Address the fact that in order to make it bi-partisan about 1/3rd of that was tax cuts? (and still no Republicans voted for it because they of course are against anything Obama is for) And a plurality of it was emergency funding for states who have balanced budget amendments so they wouldn't cut emergency services and education. Or address that a good chunk was for unemployment benefits so people could, ya know, keep their mortgages and not compound the problems we already had? When the economy collapses and the private sector can't spend money, the government has to, and that's exactly what happened. The problem with the AR&R Act was that it wasn't large enough when you're talking about a 13 trillion dollar economy.
  8. Jesus. It's like pointless to even try with you.
  9. The 2009 fiscal budget is passed in 2008, before he was elected. But you knew this.
  10. Like pretty much none of those things are actual facts though. They're really just a bunch of right-wing talking points strewn together. I mean, you sort of have a point about the deficit, but Obama has actually cut the deficit since 2010.
  11. I generally like to do my crying when I'm having sex too. That's what this article is about, right....?
  12. Just like his eyebrows grow on him.
  13. 40-0 at halftime. You can score a few TDs to look better, but you're not coming back from it.
  14. I don't like the Olympics comparison. There is no league in which you can see those athletes on a weekly basis the same way you can at Toyota Stadium or Sporting Park. I MIGHT see Michael Phelps if he happens to be in Dallas for a meet once in a blue moon, but I can see my local soccer club every week on TV and in person 15-20 times a year. Sure it's not World Cup quality, nothing really is except UEFA Champions League. But there's no similar culture in track n field or swimming that there is in soccer.
  15. Sorry soccer haters. http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/02/just-two-2013-college-football-games-topped-usa-belgium-ratings/
  16. Who is them, the EPL? Because they do have loads that come up through the youth system, although those with the bigger clubs find it much harder to break through to the 1st team at 18-21. If them is referring to England then you're correct right now, although I think they'll be a contender for Euro 2016.
  17. The MLS Academies will change this, but I don't know one way or the other if NCAA is hurting or helping. You look at a player like Dempsey who went to Furman, or you can look at a player like Brian Leyva who was a homegrown for FCD and signed at 17 or 18. He was cut after 1 year, can't play in college on scholarship, and is now in the NPSL.
  18. Fair statement to make I think. I mean, just look at some of their players, there's certainly some star power there.
