Late arrival and didn't get in until about 4 minutes left in the 1st quarter. 2 observations that left me scratching my head: tons of people headed back across the pedestrian bridge towards campus (or Fouts lot, whatever) and a pretty decent line at the box office to get tickets. Also, quite a few still hanging around the Fouts lot itself. Weird.

That's good to know. I remember staying at a cabin in Wimberley a few years ago that used well water. They made sure to let us know in the FYI pamphlet that the well water smelling like gas was totally natural and nothing to worry about. I'd consider myself fairly well up to date when it comes to a lot of the politically important issues, but truth be told I haven't really dove much into fracking and natural gas drilling.

You also have to remember that the P5 conferences swallowed up some of the more traditional mid-major powerhouses. Louisville is in the ACC, TCU is in the Big 12, Utah went to the PAC12, Boise/Cincinnati/Houston/UCF are all teams that have made multiple top 25 appearances in the last decade (or even BCS bowls) but are having down years. BYU was a top 20 team until they lost their QB. Basically there's just no G5 school that's showing they deserve a top 25 ranking right now. Maybe at the end of the year you find Boise State or Colorado State there, but there's not really a single team to latch onto that's proven they're worthy.

And Miss State's isn't?

Ole Miss lost to a 2 loss team. Oregon sits behind them with their only lose coming to the committee's #12. Notre Dame **barely** loses to the defending national champs and current #2 team on a controversial call at the end, and they can barely crack the top 10. Just wait, we'll have 4 2 loss SEC teams in this thing by the time it's all over.
-
It'll hold up because as soon as Auburn or Ole Miss lose Alabama will slide into their place. When Big 12 or Pac 12 teams lose to each other it's because they're no good, when SEC teams do it it's because the conference is "just so strong". Also a big LAWL for anyone saying Baylor's OOC is weak but still carrying the SEC's water.

Most SEC bias thing that every SEC biased. 3 teams from 1 division. Bigger joke than the BCS ever was.

Outscored 27-0 in the 2nd half. Jesus H Christ.

GET RID OF THE FOOTBALL

Beyond the fantastic Mean Green football events I've been to, I'd have to say that MLS Cup 2010 was an amazing experience, even though FC Dallas lost. I also attended the CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals last year in Cowboys Stadium and that was unbelieveable.

We also scored a notch higher in the ratings over the Tech game locally... ¯_(ツ)_/¯ http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com/2014/10/fsu-notre-dame-top-of-the-local-ratings-heap-lots-of-folks-watched-alabama-texas-am-too.html/?hootPostID=5949ec68d4cd77d511033c7896afd044

With the exception of Boise State, all those programs are as mired in mediocrity as we are currently and Boise is having their worst season in maybe 15 years. I don't know what makes you so jealous of them, especially Troy.

Southern Miss, Tulsa and there are others

This isn't too far out of the norm for McCarney either. He had some great seasons at Iowa State (which is nearly impossible for anyone), and some down years. In the grand scheme of things he did a pretty good job at a very tough place to win. I think we just lost too many guys this year, it's natural for college football. We're not someone like OU who can just reload year after year, we recruit and sign guys who were overlooked in high school, guys who have to develop in college instead of being automatically ready to tear it up Freshman year.
