Yeah I guess you did hit a nerve when you constructed that strawman. Literally nobody wants any medicine to fail when it comes to this disease. If Trump or McConnell or Graham came out tomorrow and announced a 100% safe vaccine I'd be ecstatic. I want all of this to be over too but you'll have to forgive my misgivings about the snake oil salesman hoping for a miracle cure because he was too busy dismissing this disease back in February.

I'm usually a snarky asshole on this board but I was plenty cordial in my reply to you, and your response is to intentionally act obtuse and put words in my mouth. It's actually a great example because despite being inefficient at times, they exist to serve the public good. They're not there to make money or pay for themselves, they're there to delivery mail to every American no matter how remote or isolated. They only need a bailout because of a bill passed 12 years ago that makes them fund the pensions of every employee they hire for the next 75 years. Literally no other corporation or government entity does this, the requirement only exists because Republicans are looking for ways to outsource the mail to private companies, who would then charge you an arm and a leg to deliver a package that USPS would do for half the price. Tell me, when was the last time the military turned a profit, yet they somehow need a budget every year that's 10x's the amount of every other nation's combined.

My dude you graduated from what's now considered a Tier 1 research University. Do you think the geology professors working on a way to detect volcanic eruptions are doing it so they can make bank? Is there some huge bonus for the biologists who are working to keep the grizzly bear or horned frog from becoming extinct? Cuba of all places came up with a treatment that eliminates the transmission of HIV from a mother to her soon to be born infant and they're clearly not dealing with a monetary incentive. The incentive is the social good, the same reason the USPS exists to deliver your mail every day.

Ah, here comes Firefighting Rick, JD. Dozens of women described what happened to them and then someone found an old tape of him confirming that that's exactly what he did. So yeah, not in the court of law but definitely a serial assaulter in the grand reality of things.

Nah, this administration is fine with letting 3,000 die every day in order to keep all their friend's pocketbooks full. I'm old enough to remember when 3,000 dead in a single day instigated a 20 year long war. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/04/us/coronavirus-live-updates.html#click=https://t.co/R1CgmFbd7C

Of course you don't, because it's easier to just excuse everyone as a lazy gamer, or a doomer, or whatever term is the flavor of the week rather than have empathy for someone who is in a similar situation as mine. It's as if the longer one believes in their invincibility to the problem at hand the less they care about it: the same could be said in this country of gun violence or homelessness.

Yeah, candidate. That's exactly what I meant. It falls on deaf ears to hear hypocrisy claims when a serial sexual assaulter currently sits in the white house. Oh, so were you lying in your previous post when you said that Biden hadn't been questioned by anyone in the media concerning the allegations?

Damn Rick, don't know how it's possible but you're once again completely wrong in this thread. I'm middle-aged and have been battling bronchitis for the last 6 weeks. I got a chest xray done in March that showed minor damage consistent with a normal respiratory infection, but I'm still suffering from shortness of breath and coughing despite having spent 99.9% of my time at home resting since lockdown. Mondays are one of my days off, but my department is back in the office today for no real reason other than to show some support for the governor I guess? My covid test came back negative at the end of march, but my doctor wrote a note to keep me home this week. I have another appointment scheduled this afternoon to hopefully get working from home extended until the end of the month and that's only if my HR approves. I'm having to do all of this simply because my fortune 100 company can't bear with people being productive at their own homes and not sharing each other's germs. I love being in a position where I have to choose between risking permanent damage to my health or possibly losing my job all because my company wants to play tough guy against an invisible disease. Italy's first confirmed case on Covid-19 was a marathon runner my age that spent 3 weeks in the ICU before finally recovering. NYC doctors have seen patients come in for xrays after car crashes and noticing permanent lung damage to people who were considered asymptomatic. Boris Johnson, the leader of the freakin UK was on his death bed a few weeks ago. But hey, it's so much easier to just paint a broad brush and declare that anyone who doesn't want to sit in an office right now is just a lazy gamer.

Well you'll never see me defend Biden but now you're just making stuff up. Literally all the media has been reporting on Reade's allegations: Washington Post, NYT, CNN, they've all had articles about it. Ali Veshi and Chris Hayes have both covered it on their MSNBC shows, and Mika Brzezinski interviewed Biden directly on her show Friday morning. Did he probably do something inappropriate or physical with Reade? Yeah probably, we see how gross and handsy he gets with anyone of the female sex, but you're a total hack if you think your candidate isn't infinitely worse in this regard.
