If they're gonna be shitty about tailgating then I'm bringing my flask. -
Any word on Bowl destination?

This stinks! But I guess we all saw it coming... Meanwhile General Booty of ULM just hit the portal too!

Any word on Bowl destination?
Coffee and TV replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Football
Quite sad you judge. If I had to take any time off to travel for a bowl game I would have needed to arrange that months ago. -
lol don't flatter yourself. There's an account on blue sky (probably all the social medias) that collects goofy takes like those above and posts them. One of your fellow fans at pony express would have submitted it to that account.

I'm in. I wouldn't have traveled but since it's local it's basically another home game. All I have to do is take the afternoon off work and it's a couple of stops on the DART train for me. Go Mean Green. -
Well if they tried playing in Texas Stadium I think both teams would have a tough time winning. Which is great: sad Bama fans & they'll get smack silly in Happy Valley. A win-win for a hater like myself. No. No. No. Stop. You reward one-loss Big 10 teams with a playoff birth. Period. These super conferences are gonna create a path for a team like Indiana every year where they may not be conference champs but they only got hit by one team that kept them out of the conference title game. Pretty soon we'll be saying that Bama or Texas got an 'easier' path because they didn't have to play each other.

I don't mean for committee arguments I just mean in general to your question if they would be more worthy of Miami.

They still have to beat Navy
-
We ain't gotta make 40 threads about it, but same lol. If anything miami have a better argument if this result holds.

AAC Football Championship (Friday, 12/6/2024)
Coffee and TV replied to greenminer's topic in Mean Green Football
We have short drives and can score in a hurry, the best plan is to simply never let us have the ball. Temple shut us out for almost 3 full quarters and it still wasn't enough. It was hard to watch, but I respect Army's hustle. -

Wow 28 points in the first half. Almost like our conference is really fcking hard or something this year. -

Eh...that'd be nice but I guess we don't have a tie in there anymore? -
LMAO yeah that's certainly comparable to the legal and logistical mess that is NIL. Sure. Did you have the same legal team as the NCAA on retainer?
-
I love how we're continuing the go mean green trend of shitting on 18-22 year olds and pretending like we were so much smarter than them at that age. Yeah, kids wanna get paid fairly for their work and it's *their* fault the system is setup to dupe them. Great thinking guys.
-
I'm actually on board with what you're saying about power conferences being diluted, but we knew this was gonna be the case when the playoff system was setup. SMU had to stab themselves in the foot just to get it in the door, but credit to them they did exactly that and deserve to be in the playoff if they win that diluted ACC. I'd say the same for Central Florida or BYU if they were in this situation.
-
Yeah, I get your point, but that's not how everyone agreed to set it up. The whole setup was "join one of these power 4s, win the title, and you get in." You're in a power conference, there is no such thing as a 'weak' schedule unless you're specifying out of conference. Do I agree SMU missed out on the top teams and had a 'weaker' schedule? Of course, but if they win Saturday you can't not include them for that reason, because that punishes a team who legitimately followed the agreed upon formula for qualifying. WTF is Cal and Stanford doing in the ACC if not to qualify for the playoff.
-
lemme stop ya right there.
-
Were you not following the conversation? I hope Clemson hang 70 on them but this is such BS. They joined a power conference and if they win Saturday they will be the champions of that power conference. You can't say someone has a weak schedule when they win a power 4, otherwise wtf was all of the realignment about if winning a power conference doesn't get you into the playoffs? WHY DID WE KILL THE BEAUTIFUL PAC 12 CONFERENCE IF NOT FOR THIS!?!?!? "Ah well, sorry you're undefeated Tennessee but Bama had a down year and you didn't have to play a 1-loss LSU team that didn't make the conference title after an Ole Miss upset. Sorry!"

Now just imagine trying to follow your team in the playoffs. As lurker said though, gotta hash out the conference championships first. -
A Flip For Us......Brayden Knox, DL, Putnam City, Oklahoma
Coffee and TV replied to SUMG's topic in Mean Green Football
People on this board are quick to scream quitter when a player announces their transfer, and now they're stupid if they don't quit before the coach is fired. lol -
You'd have a much easier path if you were 11-1 playing Army this weekend, instead you have to get through Clemson. You can't have 16 or 18 teams in your conference, play 8 of them and then call yourself the champion, it's not a feasible way to determine who is the best. I think 12 is a good number for the playoffs but it's still a stupid system if power 5 teams don't "play a hard enough schedule".
