I remember a few years ago hearing a story on NPR that basically said "FCC one step closer to allowing a-la-carte satelitte programming". I guess the cable companies upped their lobbying budget and put the kill on it.

I blame Obama.

Notice the key word that started that post: OR. If they're not going home they're working at the mall, bartending at Chili's, or taking customer service calls on the days full-timers don't like to work: Saturday or Sunday. That was all I was trying to say, I didn't realize it would offend so many.

That's not what I said, pal. I said they're pulling 8 hour shifts on Saturdays because their parents can't send a $500 a month allowance for beer and gas.

The 5 years that I attended UNT. The people who I've met in my life that have attended such schools. I never said poor kid, I said more likely to come from Euless or East Plano or Garland rather than Highland Park or Southlake.

Or they're working to keep from racking up a lot of debt. I don't have numbers to back it up, but I always got the feeling that UNT students came from more middle/working class families and rely on loans and scholarships, rather than those who might have mom and dad paying a good portion like UT or A&M.

Um, no, that's just plain wrong. The tax rate for the wealthiest Americans was no higher under Carter than any President before him in modern history. It was the same as it was under Ford & Nixon. It was higher under Kennedy and Eisenhower. And Obama is not "repeating Carter's history", the tax rates for the wealthiest Americans are lower under Obama than they were under Reagan.

Because its an enormous pain in the ass just getting to and from work this last week, I didn't feel like taking the 4 hour round-trip journey to get to Denton.

Fair enough. Its a theory I don't subscribe to, but at least you're willing to come out and explain some reasoning behind it rather than trying to get a political punch at people who are "doves".

With my work I had no choice but to come in. Because my commute is far I actually slept on my boss' couch last night instead of getting up an hour earlier this morning. Twas ok though, we played Kinect sports.

Been to Cali 4 times in my short life. Never been north of Orange County though. Taking I-8 into San Diego is nuts: you go from below sea level to 4000+ feet in a matter of 5 miles, its definitely the hardest highway driving I've ever had to do. Would live there if wife would allow, and cost of getting a house is nuts although not as bad as it was.

The climate change theories generally involve ice core and sea bed samples from as far back as 600,000 years. Seriously dude, a quick check on wikipedia would be something of a start.

I didn't say that at all, but if it helps you sleep better at night more power to ya. Sadly many on these boards act as if nothing is going on, and its all political hogwash. As if that many climate scientists could magically be bought or confused about their lifelong professions. If a proven engineer told you tomorrow that a bridge by your home was on the verge of collapse I could guarantee you and anyone else would find a new way home. It seems that climate scientists and NFL coaches are the only professions where its ok to 2nd guess them. C'mon dude, this is exactly what I'm freaking talking about. You want to argue that climate change isn't man-made, knock yourself the heck out. But don't come around making silly assumptions like this.

That show is gold, hope they keep it on. Since its IFC I assume they don't need big ratings to.
