  1. Dykes did recruit quite a few JUCOs of two years. We had major depth problems thanks to Dooley not signing complete classes. He is trying to move away from signing so many JUCOs.
  2. Patton is a RS SR. But Dixon (RB) and King (RB) are freshmen.
  3. NMSU got on ESPNU twice with 4 on gameplan. And according to your post ULM has no games on ESPN in 2010.
  4. I do not have regional television schedule, but at least none of us have the TV schedule of ULM in 2010. That would cut everyones appearances. The worst schedule last year had 5 appearances on television, without counting any comcast or other regional broadcasts. If the Belt continues to get games on television, especially the ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU and win some OOC games then the prestige will rise.
  5. 9:00 pm central kickoffs on Friday. Yes. I go to my sons football game, get home and SURPRISE - MORE Football! I don't miss the majority of the game and still get to enjoy high school football. Of course in Texas, especially in Houston and Dallas, there are as many Saturday high school football games as there are Fridays.

  7. Television exposure.
  8. UTEP has repeatedly said that they want to be in a conference with Texas schools. Unless he is going to somehow pull a coup with SMU, Rice and/or Tulsa I have trouble putting this as actually happening. If somehow he does this, then I will no longer compare him to WW.
  9. Seeing as how my wife got her Masters degree from NLU, it does not bother me. Not my decision. I will support my school no matter who or where it is. Being 30 minutes apart does not help the situation (see UNT and SMU).
  10. Because the quickest way to make someone to look better is to tear down those around you.
  11. Actually the build up was exactly was described.
  12. Not sure I want to touch that one either. The WAC has provided us with several nationally televised games, but not sure that equates to national recognition.
  13. The direct instutional support is state mandated and capped by the legislature. This same law forbids all schools in the University of Louisiana system from charging any student athletic fees. None of the direct instutional support can be used for facilities. This will be completely funded by private donations and bonds; unless the law has recently changed. So the $3 per semester credit hour that your students currently pay to support your atheletic department. We are not allowed by state law to implement.
  14. I am going to hand deliver them, or use one of those new flat rate boxes.
  15. Mortgaged everything??? Our athletic budget has increased $4 million from 05-06 to 08-09. We have added $6 million in improvements to our athletic facilities. We have ended fiscal year 07-08 and 08-09 with surpluses in our athletic budget. We are announcing a major athletic facility addition in the very near future despite the state being in financial difficulty. Our 5 year average for travel expenses is $1.7 million, while ULL has a 5 year average of $1.2 million.
  16. The old ones are being shipped to Denton for use at the new Fouts Field.
  17. How many years have we heard: "Just wait until (insert TV/BCS/BBall/Davison) money dries up." Ya'll have been waiting for the money to dry up for 6 years?
  18. 2009 WAC BCS Payout was $3.2 million 2010 WAC BCS Payout was $7.2 million Article one day later for Nevada. "The WAC, which annually hands out a "distribution check" to each of its institutions in July, is expected to give the Wolf Pack a payment of $1,413,000, which is up almost 25 percent over last year." http://www.rgj.com/article/20100626/SPORTS06/6260330/
