  1. Deanie's seafood. It's a block or two up from Bourbon and a couple of blocks east of Canal (Dauphine and Iberville). Really good fried seafood and you won't believe the size of the portions.
  2. I'm in Coppell, so Lewisville works for me. If someone has deemed BWW as the "official" MGHQ, then I say we go there. Can I get a second or third or fourth?
  3. The Ticket will be at Hooters in Grapevine. Anyone up for that location?
  4. If we were to advance, how are tickets distributed?
  5. Is it all games in N.O.?
  6. I'm not going wait to pass judgement. I'm passing it now. NO WHITE HELMETS! Please go with a green helmet with Son-of-worm on it.
  7. Easy enough and of course I thought of this, but this is a workaround. Why make something simple into a workaround situation? It just strikes me as ridiculous that they would just say "no thanks" to my offer to increase my donation. In addition, yesterday, they charged me for my first installment and I can't come up with any math whatsoever that ends up in the amount they charged. Seems simple...Don't tick people off when you're trying to build your fanbase.
  8. If we can confirm that the game will be on at F&H Lewisville, then I'm there.
  9. I have a special request. Can you do the "without" version so that "Son of Worm" and "North Texas" take up most of the area? In other words, not so much blank, green space? Thanks.
  10. While we're on the subject of donation/tix/payment plans, here's my story. I was planning to up my donation from $250 to $500 this year, primarily to demonstrate my satisfaction with the offseason changes. On my form, I indicated that I wanted (2) $250 MGC memberships so that I could get 2 parking passes. NO DICE! They called and told me that I couldn't do that. I said, fine, then I'll just give $250. Whoever it was that called didn't not care one iota that I was cutting my donation in half. He actually said that that's the rule because someone could come along and give $10,000 and scoop up a huge block of parking spaces. My group has a total of 6 season tickets. I don't think it's unreasonable for us to have access to 2 parking spaces.
  11. Very logical post. I, too, believe that the new stadium is more than some distant dream. I remain confident that we'll get some significant news sometime this spring.
  12. As they would say on Mythbusters...Plausible.
  13. Didn't know about that. I've always wondered what the seating chart would look like for a concert. What was the stage set-up? Was it at one end of the floor (like graduation) or did they just play to one side of the arena?
  14. It's a great idea and I'm sure the admin will attempt it, but there's so much competition for that kind of thing. Everybody wants have concerts at their place. I'm not sure how promoters decide what venues to use.
  15. I would not be terribly disappointed with 32K. I would prefer 36-38K, though, with virtually limitless options for future expansion. I do not have the fear that others have that we'll never expand. If the program advances to the point that it needs to be expanded, it will be.
  16. I like the horseshoe and I'm a big supporter of having some endzone seats, but I don't think there should be the same number of rows behind the goalpost as there are at the 50. Just 8 or 10 rows of seats in the endzone please.
  17. Looks good, but doesn't look like much room for expansion. We need to build something that's very versatile for the future. It should be designed so that whatever the needed expansion, 5K, 10K, 30K, would be feasible.
  18. Respone from ticket office... We have not eliminated the payment plan. We still do offer a payment plan that can be spread out over 8 months if initiated at the beginning of the year. The reason why we are offering a 2-3 month payment plan right now is for the early renewals. Any current season ticket holder who wants to renew early and pay off their season tickets and donation by March 28th can lock in at the 2006 football season ticket prices and seating policies. A big seating policy being the minimum donation level to sit in Section E has increased from $250 to $500 for the 2007 season. But for those currently at $250 in Section E, they can stay at that donation level for the 2007 season if renewed and paid off by the early renewal deadline. If they choose not to take advantage of the early renewal benefits, then they will be subject to the 2007 ticket prices and seating polices. No one HAS to pay off their tickets by March 28th. We offer this as an incentive and benefit to our current season ticket holders. We still offer payment plans through credit cards and electronic funds that may be paid out through August....which when we sent out the invoices and this information amounted to 8 months to make the payments. For those who do not renew early, a new invoice will be mailed with the new prices. Sorry, but I do not see the box labeled "Pay Plan - 8 months" on my form. Anybody else?
  19. I sent the following to ticketoffice@unt.edu. I, along with a number of other season ticket holders and MGC members have noticed that the option to pay out our accounts over 9 months has been eliminated, per the ticket renewal form. I, for one, was planning to increase my MGC level this year (due, in part, to my wholehearted support of the new direction the FB program took during the offseason). I will be unable to do this under the new payment option. I understand the desire to get the funds in as early as possible and would suggest that this new approach be phased in. Perhaps you could go to a 6 month option for a couple of years, followed by a 3 or 4 month option? I would hate to see potential donors either choose not to give at all or reduce their planned level due to the elimination of this option.
  20. That's what we called them around here too. Must just be a TCU thing.
  21. Don't remember for sure, but I think it was one of those times we played SMU at Texas Stadium, probably around '79, '80, '81. I loved the flying worm and lime green.
  22. Wouldn't this result in more like $2M/yr.? It would be charged in both the Fall and Spring.
  23. It might take a season or two of successful "Dodgeball" before this would have the needed support from students. Really, though, it shouldn't go to a student vote. They should just implement it.
  24. I went so far as to apply for a low-interest credit card (got the NT Exes card) to charge my MGC and tix to so that I can pay it out over 10 or 12 months. While this is a reasonable solution, I agree that this new arrangement may dissuade some donors. I'll contact the AD as well.
