  1. Maybe we could bring in one of our former "body bag game" opponents - Texas, OU, LSU, Alabama, KState, Nebraska, Arkansas
  2. What do you do in a wipeout like that? Just hang on and pray and hope the sled stops soon? I am sure getting ejected out the back is not much better.
  3. Happy Birthday Coach. Can we get him a bigger cake?
  4. I have said before and will stay with it here - Middle Tennessee. There is some bad blood there over the past few years. NT may have humiliated MTSU in the past but there was at least one year they ran up the score on NT.
  5. Hopefully UNT but wasn't his previous school Missouri?
  6. I would think the government would be able to get it for them. Not sure why. Is this supposed to be a comedy/horror flick ala Scary Movie? Seriously...a tornado with sharks?
  7. We all know the story of Jimmy Hoffa and Teamsters and corruption. The "tyranny of the union" is a thing of the past and there is very little corruption. Remember the survival of the union and members depends on the survival of the company. Unions want a fair price for their profession. In negotiations, the two sides can't be too far apart or they will never strike a deal. The union is not out to bankrupt the company. They want to get a fair wage for their members, and protection for the more senior members if it comes time for layoffs.
  8. Don't make this into a political battle. It is a matter of being diverse. Before the 1980's Dallas was considered an "oil town." That was the business of Dallas. In the 1980's there was an oil bust and Dallas along with the rest of the country suffered. I know - I was there - just out of college (UNT, or NTSU at the time) and paralegal school and had a hard time getting a job...because of the decline in oil. Today, Dallas also has real estate, technology and two major airlines to go with the oil. As far as technology, Dallas is thriving. Pittsburgh was a steel town. They now have technology to go with the steel. Pittsburgh is thriving (I saw it on "How the States Get Their Shapes"). I'm not from Detroit, but my understanding is they have and always have had the auto industry and...??? No idea what else. The slow decline and bust of the auto industry has lead to the decline of Detroit. Detroit is a one trick pony.
  9. Harry...6'7" My amateur athlete days are over. I haven't been able to keep up in basketball or football for a really long time. About 10 years ago I had to put away the softball gloves and bats. Donated to my church team. I am the epitome of the adage - The mind is willing but the body can't keep up.
  10. Please don't boo me off the board but...this will be the first time at Apogee for me. I have not been able to go to a game at the new stadium. I plan on joining the Mean Green Club or North Texas Exes this year and get tickets. So I am also interested where everyone is sitting in the stadium as well. I will be traveling around before the games to check out all the tailgaters. Harry told me where he would be so I will check that out first.
  11. I read that she said "I don't feel secure" before the ride launched. I also heard the riders around her were freaking out when the train pulled in to unload.
  12. I always like Burn Notice but this is the last season (7). See if you can find a way to watch the first 6 seasons. This 7th and final season is pretty dark compared to the others.
  13. Had a good time watching the game too. Get to put some faces to names. Note: if I ever win the Lottery and want to donate to UNT, I would donate to the Woman's Softball Team to upgrade the bathroom and concession facilities at Lovelace.
  14. To quote Norm Hitzges on draft night: "There are a lot of jobs in Detroit." Tony might not start, but he will get playing time.
  15. Someone graft an 11th finger on Bill Russell so he can wear all 11 rings at once.
  16. Here's some fireworks idea - Watch the implosion of Fouts. Throw in some senseless pyrotechnics to make it look more dramatic.
  17. MTSU is the closest thing we have to a "rivalry" so I am glad they made it to CUSA.
  18. "I say we hire a bunch of wranglers to beat the **** out of him." Dolly Parton in "9 to 5"
  19. Could be worse. The pick was originally Lakers. That would SUCK if he went there.
  20. It wasn't that long ago when the I35 bridge in Minneapolis fell also.
  21. Not quite the same as on the square but it is a good location. Newer.
  22. Another spaced out moment. Cobbs was 43.
  23. Hard to believe that later in the season KState was being talked about for the National Championship game. UNT was in their game against them for about 3.5 quarters. Not sure if that is a testament of how good UNT was or how mediocre KState was.
