  1. What is really suprising is the Defense is outscoring the Offense so far this season (9-7). Defense wins championships, but you can't win if you can't put points on the board.
  2. Definately not a TCU fan, but I was today. How far from grace has OU fallen? ESPN.com "Frog Day Afternoon." Lot of Mid Major teams giving a lot of top flight schools a run today. Wisconsin had to work for a 14 point win against Bowling Green (56-42) Illinois went to OT to win against Ruters (33-30) Tennessee (17-10 win) worked hard against UAB.
  3. BG played a good game and started off 13 - 0 but Wisconsin took the lead half way into the 2nd quarter 21-20. Both teams scored late in the half, I had to leave for a while, and when I came back, there was 97 points on the board. Big goal line stand by Wisconsin in the end (even though BG did a very poor job of clock management on the last 3 plays).
  4. That's a pretty cool looking ring.
  5. I thought students get in free. Flash your ID and get into the game.
  6. For the most part, Monday night is totally out. Everything else is pretty good.
  7. Mine sucks too.
  8. I am glad FSU is challenging this. I hope all the other schools that fall under the ban join the challenge. Exactly how is the NCAA going to "enforce" this directive? If they kick FSU and the other schools out of the NCAA, the NCAA will go out of business. I can see ALL of the NCAA Schools leaving if one gets kicked out for that. Be a huge boon for NAIA or form a new collegiate athletic governing body. What is next? Ban "nature" mascots. There go all the birds (including Eagles), trees (Stanford Cardinal), horses (SMU, et al), all animals of any type (Texas, TCU, UCLA, Cal, Baylor, et al), natural disasters (Tulsa and Miami Hurricane). The only ones left are Aggies, Sooners, Cornhuskers, Cowboys, Raiders (including color like Red and Blue), Devils.
  9. Like I said on the other thread on this subject, that show is going to blow. And I even like Texas Tech and Bobby.
  10. That is going to blow so bad. And I even like Texas Tech and Bobby.
  11. Sporting News is looking past NT on the LSU schedule. Let's hope LSU looks past NT also. "Oh CRAP! We forgot to show up for the first game of the season and our national championship hopes are crushed by the Mean Green!" Followed by much crying, sobbing, suicide watches, et al. Please keep all sharp objects away from the LSU fans.
  12. All of the above. Dr. Pohl did a lot for the school in general, not just athletics.
  13. I think that it shows that everyone on a team (be it bicycling, football, basketball, baseball, et al) has a roll. Some player's rolls are not "glamorous" but have to be done for the team to suceed. Every so often a player can step out of that roll and make the spotlight. Hincappie's roll on the team for years was to keep Lance Armstrong from harm. Not very exciting stuff but has to be done. George was allowed to step out of his normal roll and step into the spotlight. He stayed with the stage leaders and when they bonked, George didn't. Spotlight: win the stage.
  14. Now can you put one together by late October of the Super Pit? I need one for Basketball too.
  15. Pretty impressive. George rides for 10 years, the last 7 as Lance's "protector." His job was never to win a stage, just keep other riders from Armstrong. Sunday, it was his job to keep up with the leaders in a breakaway. He keeps up and wins.
  16. Was it Friday or Saturday that the T Mobil team fell into dissaray? Two riders chased down, caught, and passed Alexander Ven... something... and the anouncers were going nuts. Ven... you know... may change teams next season.
  17. Now if DD can get him to commit to UNT...
  18. Emmitt: Your stories are obviously made up. Very much like the National Inquirer. If you said something like "This player is ineligible because of ..." and start a fire storm of "is this for real?" type discussions, that would be different. We can look at the message and say "obviously this is made up." Keeps the board active during the football deadzone. So did Bat Boy make the team or not?
  19. Would it be worth while to play them in football (if they have a football team) or basketball for the right to have the monikor "Meen Green?"
  20. Emmitt is quickly becoming an unreliable source for North Texas Football news. I equate him with the National Inquirer. Next story from Emmitt: Bat Boy tries out for UNT football...as Line-Batter.
  21. I've been watching "The Tour." Pretty impressive. He gave up the yellow jersey to Voit on Sunday, rest day on Monday, then Lance takes it back from Voit by about 30 minutes. I am not the formost authority on professional bike riding stratagy, but that is a blow out. Lance has a 38 second lead over someone else and (supposidly) that is a huge lead when it comes to biking in the mountains. Sunday the anouncers said that Lance was "loaning" out the yellow jersey for a day. Closest competitor is Ivan Basso at about 62 seconds back. Ulrich? The Russian rider who's name I will not even try? Both riding for T Mobil? Where are they? A long way back.
  22. Eatin' and Football --- They go together like... Uummmm.... Eeerrrr.... two things that go really well together...
  23. Yea, it may be. I could not remember the name exactly. Matzalan is a good place. There are a lot of good Mexican places around. Another independent Mexican place is Angelina's. They are owned by a local family and there are 3 in the area. One in The Colony on Main. One in Lewisville on Main past the high school. One in Flower Mound and I am not sure where that one is located.
  24. Only 3 D-1A independents left? I thought Army was in C-USA? I thought Navy was in a conference too (can't remember which one). Notre Dame will be an independent in football forever. Why share TV money with a conference when they can keep it to themselves?
  25. Driving from Lewisville...about 15 minutes or so.
