  1. It reads TN only if you have no clue. The interlocking NT on the helmet does not have to look exactly like the NT Exes logo. There is a lot of room to put together a good looking logo without ripping off the Exes. FFR might appreciate this: I finally met FFR Saturday. I was wearing my RETRO (circa 1970) rounded NT. I would love to see a "throw back" day and UNT wear those helmets and jerseys.
  2. I have a friend who was all EVERYTHING as an OL at Nebraska. Drafted 2nd round by Pittsburgh. Didn't pan out well because of injury. He is now the OL coach at Denton High for 3 seasons. HE would be more qualified to be a D1 position coach then Eric Pegram. Eric is a great guy, but how about getting some experience in high school or a smaller school before diving straight into D1 - A football. Build a resume first. You can't go from college graduate to CEO of a Fortune 500 business. Get some work experience, show some talent at your profession and work through the trenches a few years (at least 10) before making a bid for the top job at a major corporation. Same here. Pegram was a good RB. Prove you can teach it before jumping into the big time.
  3. I see a REALLY big battle for QB in the offseason.
  4. Could at least fix the burned out bulbs on the north score board...and the video (as small as it is).
  5. Two weeks in a row, NT is behind, comes back, and just misses.
  6. NT got lot of press because of the RBs. They were expected to be the saving grace for the season. Didn't pan out.
  7. This may be the best class ever...or at least recently.
  8. Nice to see Jones recruit from outside the Dallas/Ft. Worth boundries and even in some other states. That has been hard in the past for basketball and football for this school.
  9. It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World in Denton.
  10. As much as the offense has struggled this year, I was VERY impressed that they put 28 points on the board for the game. It would have been very easy to roll over and die in the second half down 21-7. I think DD opened up the offense a little and we see that Meager can throw. Cobbs ran like a man on a mission. It was a disapointing loss, but I don't think anyone on that sideline should hang their head over this. The team played better then any other game of the season.
  11. That is what I have ben saying all season. This is a rebuilding year. A freshman QB, a young defense spells problems. I do not want to flame either. But it happens. You lose to graduation as much as North Texas has and you are going to have an off year. I do not have enough information on recruiting though.
  12. These maps are pretty old though. If you go west of Fouts Field down Airport Road, just before the Peterbuilt plant there is nothing there. UNT has some fields and facilities there. That was at least 2-3 years ago those were built. Go further west to the airport and there is no tower there. The tower was activated sometime last year, was constructed even earlier then that. There is nothing there in the pictures.
  13. Unfortunately, just because a team is "bowl eligible" does not mean you should start packing your bags. Only one team from the Sun Belt is going to a bowl. I think last year another team had the 6 wins but stayed home (no invite). I think Troy went to a bowl last year, but they were not part of the conference yet.
  14. The ranking of all 119 D1A teams. UNT is 72. Interesting that we are ahead of some bigger schools. TCU, Oklahoma State, Illinois, Cal
  15. 2 baseball caps. 1 is the late 60's "rounded" NT 1 is from about 10 years ago that is fitted, Dark Green, Black NT blocked. I have one of the new t-shirts but my wife keeps taking it before I can wear it. Maybe I need to hide it somewhere....
  16. Good think I have a sense of humor. I got sucked in.
  17. ...And are gagging and puking in the WS. Down 0-3 going into 10/26 game. Not good for the 'Stros.
  18. Skins have always been the biggest. All of those teams are rival teams thought. Big audience when any of them come to town.
  19. Jump to the Big 12 or CUSA? Get Real! NT stands a better chance of going to either of those conferences then MSU.
  20. “Spending cap” for college athletic programs? Good luck regulating it. NCAA is doing well to monitor the scholarships per program.
  21. No teams with overall winning record. Part of that is the weakness of the conference. A lot of that is the teams played in OOC games. Those include Texas, Arkansas, K-State, Tulsa, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas Tech (I think someone from SBC played Tech). There are a lot more I am missing. But you get the point.
  22. While college and professional athletes can be stuck up and full of themselves, the game can humble anyone really quick. The spotlight can be too bright sometimes. As hard as it has been on Meager, I can’t really imagine him boasting that much. If he is, something is wrong with him.
  23. Rule #1 of management: Praise in public, chastize in private. Boost someone's ego when they perform well in public for all to see. If someone screws up badly, you go into the office, close the door, and lower the boom on them between the two parties. If DD follows that rule, then it all stays internal.
  24. For the past few years, NT has always been somewhat undisciplined. They were winning so no one cared. If I have a knock against DD, it is that the team commits too many stupid penalties. Hard to produce when you give up 1.5 football fields in penalties.
  25. A few years ago, Tech changed their offensive scheme. They were a run oriented team and with a few good recruits, were able to change to a pass happy offense. Meager was to state top 5 passer (before an injury). If DD can recruit some sprinters and pass blocking linemen next year, maybe there can be a change. With Cobbs graduating, Thomas will still be in the backfield. OOOOOO.....
