  1. Middle TN ST (W) 14-7 7 points difference Troy (L) 10-13 3 FIU (W) 13-10 3 ULL (L) 28-31 3 FAU (L) 23-26 3 ULM (L) 19-24 5 ASU (L) 24-31 7 No reason not to improve. All of the conference games were within 7 points. All of those games were that close the whole way. It wasn’t like UNT was getting blown out and charged back in the end to fall short, or visa versa. The last 2 losses were to the teams playing for the conference championship. I would be concerned if UNT was blown out of conference games and did little in the way of recruiting. Such is not the case.
  2. I have faith!!!! Sept 2 we eat STEAK Sept 9 we eat HORSE MEAT Both weeks we chase it with Champagne.
  3. For the record, I did the survey, then looked up the helmet in The Helmet Project. It does shwo the Ragin' Cajun's" on the helmet. Can't post the picture of the helmet because it will only last a few days before it drops. And it is ULM that has to change mascots. (that is directed at the NCAA and not ULM)
  4. I remember hearing about the reduction. Too bad. An extra $30 per year plus the registration is worth it to me.
  5. RA Dickey is a disappointment. Rangers just sent him to Oklahoma City. He could end up being a guy that is "4A." Great in the AAA minors but terrible in the Majors. Right now, they are NOT mathematically eliminated.
  6. Out Standing. Sorry I missed it. Maybe next year I can attend and see if a 45 year old 2 years removed from foot surgery (both feet) can keep up with you guys.
  7. I agree. If you want a U Florida license plate, go live in Florida! There is a pretty limited selection of Texas colleges at the DMV page. Hope they can expand that list in a few years.
  8. So you didn't have to fly anyone to the hospital???? I don't plan on attending any weddings next year so maybe I can at least attend. Can't say I can play, but I can attend.
  9. THAT'S THE ONE I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!!
  10. When they anounce, I will take the day off and sit as close as allowed. Bring a mask for the dust.
  11. A - "Ragin Cajuns" on the helmet B - 4 C - 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 D - 3 E - 2 F - 3 G - Male H - (44-52) I - 4 (UNT Alum) Hope this helps your research. Totally sucks ass that the NCAA is cracking down on the "Native American" mascot names. We'll get ours. Next will be the "Endangered Species" mascots, then trees, then animals in general. Pretty soon we will be like the English Football (soccer) league where it is just the name of the team with no mascots. NAIA is looking really good about now.......
  12. So many others already have their schedules liste. UNT is keeping it a secret... ssshhhhhh......
  13. We are sliding down the slippery slopes. It started with the "Indian names." Now PETA is going after animal mascots. Might as well be like English soccer. No mascots. Just the city name. This is getting ridiculous!
  14. I'm confused. Unless these are pictures of Denia Park, why is the Woman's softball team not playing games at this facility? With the limited view of the pictures, the only thing missing from here is the stands.
  15. Not the same think. The SWC was just about dead at that time. That was a merger (move) to create a super conference comparable to the SEC. Tech, A&M, Texas and Baylor did not "kick" the others out of the conference. They left the SWC to form the B12.
  16. I must have missed something in your statement. I am a proponent and am interested in a definative national championship where it is determined on the field and not in "polls." There is a fair way to have a playoff a the D1-A level. The conference champions from the 6 BCS conferences, WAC, CSUA, SBC plus 7 at large bids make a field of 16 teams (same number for the playoff in D1-AA). 54 of 117 D1-A teams go to a bowl game. If the NCAA still wants to have that many teams play in post season, it can still be done. The 16 go to the tournament and the other 38 play in the verious bowl games. The BCS is adding one more bowl game. The chances of a non-BCS school cracking the top 8 to go to a big money bowl is not going to happen very often.
  17. There is a lot of good stuff on auction too. Wish I had the time and money for it. Maybe if I knock off a bank.... maybe not.
  18. That's a hard one. From a recruiting standpoint, I don't think just going to the NCAA and bounced in the first round would be as impressive for a program as WINNING the NIT. At least with winning the tournament (NIT or any of the early season tourneys) you get a trophy to show to recruits and say "Hay...look what we did. We want you to be part of this in the future." Getting bounced in the first round of the NCAA you get 1 day of TV time (as far as games). Winning the NIT you get several days of TV time, but it isn't for a national championship.
  19. Don't count on that. Normally the reason a team leaves a conference is because they petition another conference for membership (i.e. the Big East/ACC/CUSA shuffle a year or two ago). While it has probably happened before, I suspect it is very rare for a conference to drop a team because of not being competitive. Temple was dropped by Big East (I think) a few years ago for not fielding competitive teams. Name another school that this happened to? I can’t.
  20. If no one else wants the coaching position, I'll take it. Here is my resume: The last organized football I played was Pee Wee football in 6th grade. I was a lineman...and not that good. The only coaching job I ever held was a girls fast pitch softball team ages 11-12, for one season. We only won 1 game. What I know about Running Backs: they need to be fast, they need to put their hands a certain way to receive the hand-off, odd holes are left, even holes are right, their jersey numbers are usually in the 40s or lower. I won't be an easy coach. Every day before practice all of the running backs will have to dance like Michael Jackson to improve their foot work. For sprints, I put a Diet Coke at one end of the stadium and they all sprint to get it. The one who gives it to DD gets to start that week. I suggest they find someone else. I'm such a JACKASS!
  21. The only problem with that is that the BCS conferences are pretty much set. There is a "rumor" that The Big Conference my go to 12, adding 1 team. The making of the major conferences is pretty much over. Pac-10, B12, BE, ACC, SEC are pretty much set and The Big Conference MIGHT look for one more addition. These are the conferences that will play for a football national championship every year. Joining one of those conferences: that ship has sailed. Everyone else (WAC, CUSA, Sun Belt, et al) will have to settle for second best...till the NCAA realizes how unbalanced the system is.
  22. One of the two. I thought it was State but it may have been just Utah.
  23. So does this "name change" pretty much bring an end to the possibility of a D-1A change to a playoff system to determine a champion?
  24. Someone can check me on this but I think he would lose his last year of eligability. I think the rule is that you have to sit out a season if you transfer to another school. So the time to transfer is early on in the first or second year. Kellen has already put 3 years in.
  25. When did The Sporting News start hiring the mentally handicaped? The whole reason for a tournament is to determine an undisputed champion. The basketball season doesn't end on March 1 when everyone finishes the regular season. The season continues. If you are a dominant team, you will be sucessful in the NCAA tournament. George Mason is a fluke. That is about the only thing this guy got right. They were an OK team during the regular season, got bounced in their conference tournament and had to rely on an at large bid. That is the lure of the Tournament. A team that gets little or no national coverage gets to be in the spotlight as long as they win. But a champion is determined on the court, not in the polls. Two years ago, Utah State...a mid-major from a non-BCS conference got everyone's attention by making it to a BCS bowl game. D 1A football is the only division of all of college sports that DOESN'T have a postseason tournament to determine a champion. Every season there is chaos in D-1A as to who is a "true champion." Like basketball, it should be determined on the playing field away from the human opinion "polls."
